Learning to Love It!

A funny thing happens when you finally get that new piece of hardware home, unbox it and then turn it on. Oh...this is different. Yup! This is different. I was coming from a Lenovo W530 Laptop which has performed like a beast, but was...well..., a beast. It was heavy and the power supply was a necessary tag along because the battery life was about 1.5 hours on a full charge. Fast forward and the Yoga is 1.5 lbs and has a usable battery life of 8-10 hours so I can bring it everywhere and use it all day long without worrying about power. So, for me there are a lot of major differences in how I'm able to use the device compared to my old laptop. Let's talk about the major differences.
1. Battery Life is greatly extended and this is a huge plus.
2. Weight is 1.5 lbs vs. 10 lbs all in with the power brick so this is a huge plus.
3. Display: The display is true 4K and is stunning but with that comes the small type which in many cases actually causes problems especially when connecting to external monitors. The good thing is you can configure the display to magnify the screen and it actually works very well.
4. External Display ports are limited. I had to buy and additional piece of equipment to support the external display on my desk and then I went Wireless for my 2nd external display. It works but it is kind of sketchy so if you are planning on using external displays you may want to consider something else. It will work but takes an effort. Lenovo would be wise to solve dual external monitors natively to the device.

6. Build quality looks nice and so far I haven't had any issues. I will say it is kind of awkward opening the display. Haven't really figured out the best way to do that.
7. Price/Performance: What can I say, Lenovo packs a 7th Gen I7 Processor, 16GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD into a sophisticated modern skin. I was considering a Microsoft Surface Book and this same configuration would have cost me nearly double to price of my Lenovo. I wanted the Surface Book but couldn't justify the cost.

It's not too often you get to see a feel good movie that's this good. Hidden figures does a great job of telling the story of 3 young black women all trying to make their way in a white man's world. This backdrop for this epic journey is 1960's NASA and the race to the moon. Now, outside of the gratuitous racial bias that was portrayed the movie was still palatable except....the part where the bathroom was all the way across campus and she spent the first several weeks/months traversing the campus through wind and rain and never ever mentioned it to her superior. So, all in all a great movie and one you'll be happy to watch with your whole family.

Good Product not Great

First let me say that the product works and works well. I was a little disappointed with having to add the provide connector to backside of my Life Proof case. This connector is the piece that then attaches to the handlebar accessory mount. It's also a little awkward taking the device on and off the mount so be careful to not drop your phone in the process. Overall, the product is very functional but will add a bit of bulk to your case so if you slip your phone into your pocket, well...you may not be as comfortable as you were before the addition.
