Cheap Trick Forever

I've been a Cheap Trick fan since just before "At Budokan" was released, so naturally I've listened to a lot of Cheap Trick over the years. They have yet to disappoint me to any meaningful degree; there are no albums in their discography that I skip. Most people I talk to about Cheap Trick seem to think that the band called it quits decades ago, and are shocked when I tell them that CT is still actively recording and touring. It's a real shame, since CT has continued consistently to release great material. I believe that 2006's "Rockford" is one of the best Cheap Trick albums of their entire career.
Cheap Trick is much, much more than "I Want You To Want Me."
"We're All Alright!" carries on the Cheap Trick tradition of balancing the old and the new, experimentation and tried-and-true formulas, without betraying diehard fans by doing something that is alien to what we all love so much about the band. Personal favorite tracks include "Long Time Coming," "Radio Lover," and "Like a Fly." The cover of The Move's "Blackberry Way" is pretty cool as well. I'm glad that I got the deluxe edition with the bonus tracks, and would recommend doing so.
Cheap Trick continues to be the funnest band in the universe. Seriously. Cheap Trick Forever!

ALMOST a Greatest Hits

I should preface this by saying that I'm a metalhead, and that my typical listening during the peak of The Cars' popularity consisted of bands like Iron Maiden, Motorhead, etc. However, I've always enjoyed the upbeat, catchy melodies delivered by The Cars. The songs are all very simple, but they're also a lot of fun. This release gives a pretty good overview of the band's most popular songs, the sound is good, and the packaging, etc., is good as well. The reason I had to give it four stars rather than five is that it doesn't include the song "Magic," which seems like a major oversight. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks, and No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, so it would seem to be an obvious choice for inclusion. Other than that, it's a good compilation of the well-known hits with a few lesser-known tracks thrown into the mix.

Catchy Tunes With Technical Mastery

Mr. Big has consistently released albums with a lot of catchy songs and great melodies, while at the same time delivering incredible musicianship, particularly in the cases of Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert. This album continues that tradition. It's fun and melodic, with somewhat of a pop sensibility and a bluesy groove, but with enough shredding via Mr. Sheehan and Mr. Gilbert to satisfy metalheads. If you like Mr. Big in general, you will like this one. If you dislike Mr. Big, you probably won't like this release either. It's reliably Mr. Big.

Relieved Wrist Pain

I spend most of my workday on the computer, and quite a few years ago I began to experience soreness in my wrists and forearms. The first thing that helped was an ergonomic keyboard, but I still had pain in my right-hand wrist. I decided to switch from a standard mouse to a trackball, and after a short time of getting used to the trackball, it has been reliable and easy to use. Plus, the wrist pain has not returned. Make sure you take the ball out and do a little cleaning on a regular basis and it should work reliably for a good amount of time.

Everything that Motorhead Should Be
on September 12, 2015

With Lemmy approaching the age of 70, and Motorhead reaching its 40th birthday, you could reasonably assume that the band would be losing its spark and slowing down. However, that's just not the case. In fact, "Bad Magic" could be one of Motorhead's best releases.
"Bad Magic" is a compilation of all the band's aspects, the attitude, the humor, the speed, the crunch, the melody. It's all there, from every period of Motorhead's illustrious career, in one package.
It starts out with a bang, and continues the face-melting intensity even through the final track, an interesting cover of the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black." Track 2, "Thunder and Lightning," is classic Motorhead with its pounding sprint toward the final crunch. "Electricity" is reminiscent of Motorhead's debut, and almost convinces me that Lemmy and I are both significantly younger than we really are. Overall, it's catchy, energetic, and exactly what you would expect from Motorhead at the top of their form.
"We are Motorhead, and we play rock 'n' roll," indeed.
