Grind coffee for a variety of preparation methods with this Espressione 5198 grinder, which features 15 settings from coarse to extra-fine, making it easy to prepare beverages to your liking. Conical burrs reduce heat and friction to preserve flavor.
Firstly, prior to this one, I bought 2 or 3 grinders in three months time, and none was particularly good; one was totally shotty, though it cost the same as this one. Point being, this is a solid contender for the price.
Here are my likes: easy assembly; easy to clean; hopper doesn't catch or get stuck; coffee comes out uniformly.
Here are my dislikes: a lot of grounds left inside; uses a lot of coffee and is steered toward *STRONG* brew.
I have to bang out the excess grounds every time, which gets old. And, for those of you used to a grinder outputting moderate grinds, this one may seem excessive. It took some adjustment to find its sweet spot--the point at which my brew was strong but not overbearing.
All in all, I like this grinder. It's effective if flawed, and most importantly it's consistent. None of the other conical burr grinders I bought in the same price range is comparable.
