Bought this for my 10 year old son because he outgrew his Vivofit Jr. he actually like this one better. I bought it on clearance because I didn't want to drop a whole lot of cash on it. Now, if I had to do it again I'd pay full price. We're a family of Garmin watch users and this one is no different.

Pretty good but missing a few features

So let me start by saying I love watches. The last activity watch I had was the Fossil Q54Pilot. It got me kind of spoiled.
The Vívoactive is missing the two most important things on a watch to me (activity tracker or regular). There is no date on the face of the watch, and the hands do not glow in the dark. Other than that it's pretty good.
It is much more lightweight than most regular analog watches. The band is super comfortable. You don't have to charge it once a week like most. Probably my favorite feature is the little band holder. It holds the extra band so that it's not flapping all over the place.
Overall 4stars. Would be 5 if it wasn't missing the simplist of features.

Does this Garmin still work ( display steps, how many left etc. ) when u are not near a phone/ any device? Would it still display everything even if my daughter was at school and her device was at home?
