This movie was a pleasant surprise! It had a lot more humor than I was expecting. Rebel Wilson just steals scene after scene with her character Fat Amy.
Decent story about the choices we make with an emphasis on consequences. Sadly the innocent parished at the hands of the greedy. No likable characters and motives of characters are not always clear.
I've always been a fan of De Niro and Pfeiffer both have played serious and comedy roles to perfection. This is a dark comedy but it is a very funny film with some dramatic elements.Being mobster themed, death and murder are always present, but we get a different persecutive in this film as it follows a mob Rat and his family as they struggle to blend into the witness protection program.
It plays like a drama, but then we are reminded often that this is mostly played for laughs. If you like Goodfellas, Married to the Mob or the Analyze This films, you will probably like The Family as much as I did. The Blu Ray looks great.
Amazing movie with amazing acting and an amazing soundtrack!!! A feel good movie with a feel good ending. Sam Rockwell was very funny. I have watched it over and over and highly recommend the soundtrack. One of the best movies I've seen in a while!
A visually stunning movie with replay value. Loaded with action and terrific CGI. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the story was, as well. I can only hope the other two parts of the trilogy can hold water next to this one!
The upgrade to Blu ray is certainly worth the extra expense as the transfer is excellent. With an aspect ratio (1.85:1) consistent with the original film, the film looks as good as it can be. Colors are well displayed and there are plenty of colors used in this Caribbean/New Orleans centered film. I saw no artifacts or video noise. The audio track contains a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 option and certainly is the way to go. At the same time it isn't all that great. I had to strain a few times to understand some of the dialog.
The Blu ray transfer comes in with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio and it looks great. Certainly one of the better converted Bond films. You will be stunned with the opening skiing sequence with the stark white snow, deep blue sky and a streaking Bond in a yellow ski suit. Stunning as is the whole disc. The audio features a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track and it is also very good. . The surrounds are not aggressively in play most of the time, but the dialog is crystal clear.
