If you are a fan of both Vildhjarta and newer Northlane, this is the band for you! It's heavy dent like Northlane but also has a lot of the dark "thall" riffs and atmosphere of Vildhjarta making an interesting mix of two distinct styles. Recommended!
All new lineup featuring only the vocalist remaining and the backing band is basically all of the members of Glass Cloud minus their vocalist with the note that the guitarist is also from The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza which is awesome! So back to this album, the songs are all very heavy, direct, and textured. Frankie seems to have calmed down a bit with no controversial lyrics this time around but more sincere for the most part. Musically it is still Emmure and unfortunately not so much Glass Cloud but still awesome. However the album is barely 32 minutes long which is way shorter than their last albums and doesn't give you much content to discover with repeated listens.
I'll try to keep this review short. If you know Within The Ruins, this sounds like their other albums except the riffage seems a little less pronounced and there are now some clean vocals here and there from the guitarist which has mixed results. They don't sound "Erra" bad but do feel kind of forced. If you are not familiar with this band they are a very fast and heavy tech-metal band that kind of mixes the deathcore sound of Despised Icon, with the melodic riffs of Darkest Hour or At The Gates, the heavy technical parts of After The Burial, and the over-the-top guitar leads of Rings Of Saturn. Somehow though this album fails to hold my attention as much as a whole as their last releases yet if I listen to any given song from the album I love it. Worth checking out!
So a lot of fans really disliked their last album due to it's over-use of clean vocals but I for one really liked that album for the most part. This new album is more of a return to form to their older style which admittedly still is where their best stuff is. This album is solid except for one instrumental (I'm not a fan of instrumentals). The songs are heavier, raw, fast, and loud with some musical melodicness in the guitar work. My problem is that the musical melodicness this band is known for doesn't really come through as much as it should. Although fast it doesn't feel as fast as older stuff or even as fast as their last album. The album definitely doesn't come close to Undoing Ruin, Deliver Us, The Eternal Return, or the Human Romance but probably sits solidly at being their 5th best album, exactly in the middle of their whole catalog which is still quite an amazing catalog. I know I made it sound bad but rest assured it is a great album!

So I just wTched this movie after buying it for Black Friday last year! I am kicking myself for missing it in the theater! I will say it was tied with Rogue One for the best si-GI of 2016 in my book! While still having the epic more Star Wars feel of the first two movies, this one also felt like a classic or TNG episode as well! A very great episode in the series that really is the best of the 3 in this reboot series! Get it now!

This EP is finally out on CD with a fresh mix and mastering after being available as a streaming by subscription model (which was stupid)! There are 6 songs and the EP clocks in at 35 minutes which is longer than a lot of full lengths these days and is 9 minutes shorter than their first two albums Kezia and Fortress. Every song is great, I am looking forward to their next full length!

I love this band's sound and this is a pretty good album. My complaint is a lot of the tracks are not real songs but more like intros or interludes to other songs. Their sound is great if you are into heavy and hard like I am, I just wish there were more songs!

AFI now sounds like a slightly harder version of the Cure! Not a bad thing but it you are looking for another "Shut Your Mouth", "Black Sails...", or "The Art Of Drowning" you will be disappointed. Definitely a good melancholic release but any screaming and punk/hardcore aggression is mostly absent. Track 7 opens with a guitar tone reminiscent of their first two albums which caught me off guard. There's some really good stuff on this album though even if it lacks diversity though the last track works against that assessment by opening with a weird bluesy trucker bar feel at first. Just check it out but do it with an open mind!

Best parts are in the commercials. This movie is pretty much a mix of Bolt and Madagascar. Not really a movie worth owning unless it is on sale for under $10.

I bought one for my daughter who had gained a lot of weight and needed inspiration to go outside for walks. The pedometer allows us to monitor her progress in the form of steps which is great! My wife and I did not want her to have a device that allows her to go unmonitored onto the internet so this was perfect. The diwnside is there are no apps that be be downloaded on it like there are on the iPod Touch for $50 more.
