A great cast, a great plot, and a great storyline until the end. It feels like the writers didnt know how to end this movie properly and just gave up. All in all worth watching, but doubt youd want to watch it a second time.

I am a big fan of Elmore Leonard books turned to film, especially Get Shorty and Be Cool... great casts, great scripts... this one just lacked the comedic feel of the others. A good movie worth watching once, but lacks re-watch value. A few laughs, but all in all it seems everyone just missed their comedic timing, leading to an awkward movie.

I had grown up seeing this movie as a kid, so it was a no brainer to pick it up when it was finally released on DVD. Nostalgic films, especially the ones from childhood are very hit or miss. This one is still a hit. Rip Torn as the Genie, Christopher Lloyd as the evil Merlock... still a classic I will enjoy for years to come.
