I am not a fan of death metal/deathcore at all! I feel like with all the screaming, melody is lost and it isn't that enjoyable to me. I've always known about Arch Enemy for years, and i have never been a fan, despite the beautiful chick on vocals. Although, I have always loved the metalcore band "The Agonist". So when I heard that Alissa was going to become the new singer of Arch Enemy, I thought I would give them a try. Right from the very first minute of listening to this new album, I knew this was a completely different animal. The music is beautiful! The screaming is brutal! and the singer is GORGEOUS! Give it a shot. There is lots of melody. Every song is different. And the song War Eternal has one of the best guitar solos I have ever heard in my life. Side Note: my wife HATES metalcore/screaming...and she says this is alright. Give it a shot. It will not disappoint.

What's great about it: Everything single thing about this album is pure gold!
Right from the very first song you know that this is going to be a totally different cd. Their last cd "The Drug in Me is You" was completely flawless in my opinion. It was the traditional Post Hardcore/Metalcore (whatever you wanna call it) album. It was great too because it had an 80s vibe to alot of the songs as well, which i loved. This new cd starts with "Champion"..an album that is brutal and totally awesome and follows suit from the last cd. But halfway through it, Ronnie says "wait hold on a second folks" and then starts rapping. I thought it was totally badass! He ain't that bad at rapping! Anyways, most of the cd that follows has the same kinda beats and rapping as "Champion". I say give it a shot. It's really good. And if you hate it, just know that Ronnie promises that their next cd is going to go back to the heavy screaming.

What's not so great: Not as good as their last cd, but still great!
