Does a good job of boosting cell phone signals

Our location is remote and cell service is very weak. This unit gives us cell phone service for any carrier. Installation is required and can be tricky but the unit does what it says it will. We went from no signal to three or four bars on most phones (when near the inside antenna).

Will it play dvd and blueray on a surface pro 4 ? and do i need to add software to use it ?
The LG unit mentioned will play and record CDs and DVDs but will not do Blueray. I am using a Win10 laptop and it connected right out the box to a standard USB port without any additional software.
