Up front and honest disclosure: There is NOTHING good about this disc. Nothing. It is the decline of Sabbath in the Ozzy years, though in all reality, it may just be the worse thing they've done. I bought this, along with Never Say Die to complete the Sabbath CD collection.
The remastering is good but honestly, there's nothing that can make this mega-flop any better.
We all know this isn't one of Sabbath's best recordings. The band was out-of-gas by this time and running barely on fumes. I picked this up to "complete the collection." You know, it's not as ghastly as I thought. The remaster is really nice and brings clarity to the mix. just don't expect those first four precious Sabbath LP's to be reflected here, style-wise.
Experience quality photographic performance from this Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 point-and-shoot camera's 20.0-megapixel sensor. A large expandable ISO range and aperture let you adjust to your shooting environment. ..
This is a camera that does best under good lighting situations. Low light photo's tend to get a bit grainy but are still quite good. I'm very basic and I've not gone through all of the features by any means.
The downside is the plastic chassis. I was hoping for something with a better, stronger feel.
My best advise with this movie is to just suspend your disbelief. Don't look for realism don't go all CSI on this and think about plot holes, etc. Sit back and be entertained.
The 1981 punk rock documentary The Decline of Western Civilization by Penelope Spheeris was the first exposition of the burgeoning punk and hardcore subculture in Los Angeles to the masses of America. The emotional and raw performances by the likes of Black Flag, Germs, and Fear caught on film by Spheeris painted a youth in revolt, flying in the face of conventional culture. Collected in this special set are Spheeris' groundbreaking "Decline" documentaries; the original from 1981 and her two follow-ups from 1988 and 1998.
At long last, an "official" version of The Decline series. I've never seen the first or the third installments. In fact, I never even knew there was a third until this set was announced a year or so back.
The transfer is very clean and sharp on my TV and the audio is clear and crisp. So nice to finally be able to watch this on anything but a bootlegged copy!
Privately listen to a marathon of your favorite TV show with these Skullcandy Uproar S5URHT-456 on-ear headphones, which feature an adjustable headband with synthetic leather ear pillows for comfort. Sound isolation helps minimize background noise.
Basically, I needed headphones in a pinch, owing to a new position in work. And, I needed the kind to drown out the barking seals in work, all yelling and shouting. These headphones are not 100% noise-killing, but the do sufficiently cut it down.
Response-wise, I love the low-end. Very boomy, yet defined and not muddy. The only "problem" I've noticed is the cord is a little short.
I read this book and as I was about half way through, I saw a commercial for the movie. Had no idea they were even filming it. It's pretty faithful to the book. They left out the rover in the dust storm and how bad that became but hey, if they included everything, the movie would be days long. Not 100% faithful but some of the omissions and modifications are forgivable. It's over two hours long and it's fast paced.
Filled with set backs and triumphs this one will keep you entertained. I'll definitely be watching this one over again.
This concert release features British heavy metal rockers Judas Priest performing live at Germany's Wacken Festival in August 2015. The band performs their classic hits in support of their record Redeemer of Souls, and this special set contains three bonus tracks from another performance in Poland.
First off, get the Blu-ray, not the DVD. The quality is off the charts. Very clear and the sound never disappoints. Since I saw the band in October of 2014 and until this disc came out, I had forgotten how effective their light show on this tour was.
The shots of the band last a while and don't suffer from fast edits like some of the earlier Maiden videos. The crowd shots are breath taking. It's hard to imagine what 80,000+ people in a crowd are like. Watching this set made me feel like I was seeing the band all over again.
David continues to evolve his sound on this one. Blackstar has more of a "jazz" feel to it than previous works. Contrary to popular belief, he knew he was sick as the sessions for Blackstar progressed however David did not learn his illness was terminal until about November of 2015.
Upon receiving that terrible news, he did go into the studio and manage approximately five more tracks which for now, remain unreleased. Until that time, Blackstar is a fitting end to a beautiful 40+ year career.
Talk about comprehensive. This set has something for everyone - Die hard fan and even a casual listener, though it is a little pricey for the casual. Still, it's worth it.
The packaging is superb and well done. As with "The Promise" box set, the "notebook" theme continues and in addition to that, there's a hardcover book of photos that make for a nice walk through in those quiet off hours from work.
