It's true. Apple Watch series 3 is really that great. Wasn't sure how much of an improvement the series 3 GPS model would be over the series 2 version. Siri talks back! And the interface is just as fast as you would hope. Could not be happier with this watch. And the Nike additional elements make workouts great. Have to use a bluetooth headset to really take advantage.

Fast drive and good connection

I needed a new USB drive and wanted to make it easier to use on older and new machines so looked for USB-C. This one is only USB 3.1 and not the newer 3.2, but it is still very fast. I was a little disappointed in the sturdiness of the connection itself. On MacBook and MB Pro, this is a very firm connector similar to the lightning connector on my iPhone. On this drive, there is a bit of wiggling and play after it is connected which is a bummer. Seems otherwise very solid. Disk speeds are very fast and obviously faster depending on whether it is plugged in via USB 2 on older machines or USB 3. The package does contain a cable which allows you to go to both. Wish it had a second USB-C connector to allow a daisy chain.

We have an Airport Extreme in the main part of our house, but the signal doesn't quite get downstairs on the opposite end. So, we picked up this Airport Express and plugged into our wired ethernet in that room. The auto configuration really wanted it to be an "extended" network, but that created lots of problems with DHCP between the two routers and our Uverse modem. Finally figured out that the correct configuration should be "roaming" since both devices are plugged in via Ethernet. Just setup the same network name and password and off it goes! For "extended" it works by sharing the over the air wireless signal and passing it on.

Great looking fitness band with excellent software

My wife has enjoyed her Jawbone fitness tracker, so I thought I would join in. She has the updated band with 4 strands. I decided on this older style as it seemed more functional. Setup and interaction with it is great and their software is outstanding! The combination of slim size, sleep tracking and buzz alarm are exactly what I wanted.
However, the buckle is really tough to get used to and I have had the band fall off my wrist a number of times. Luckily, it hasn't gone far or gotten damaged. I'm hoping I can get used to the buckle, but in the meantime I'm only giving it 4 stars.

Best Flat UHD 4K TV Available

My outstanding Panasonic ZT60 failed and I had to replace with a current LCD display. That is a tough replacement and it took me a few tries and LOTS of research to land at the Samsung JS8500. For my theater room, the curved screens just did not work. Among the flat panel displays, I also wanted to make sure I got a full 10-bit panel, for future proof this Fall with HD Blu-ray and the extended color depth. This TV is almost the only model available, aside from the Sony 930c and 940c which are quite a bit more expensive. It has taken me quite a bit more time to work through the menus and various screen settings (compared to the Panasonic), to get the proper calibrated viewing I was hoping for. The various ways that Samsung processes the image mean that you have to really read carefully and try different settings before landing on the right image for your preferred content.
I'm not a fan of the external connection box and only use a single HDMI cable to my Yamaha receiver and the RF input (over-the-air HD is the best!). The connecter feels flimsy and easily breakable. In fact, I had to remove the TV from my Chief wall mount twice to replug the cable back in. I probably won't mess with it again, so I suppose I'll forget the inconvenience.
Love the remote and how it feels in my hand. Easy to use and comfortable. The software updates have been regular and most services are flowing well. I do have issue with their Crackle app. The overall resolution is poor on the menus and the streaming is not great and poor quality. I can switch to my Sony blu-ray player and all is sharp and clear. Both are plugged in via wired Ethernet, so I can only assume the app is just not optimized yet for the Samsung Tizen OS. Only other issue has been getting consistent HMDI ARC response. The TV often switches back to the internal speakers at startup and I have to select through a couple menus to route back to my receiver. Again, hopefully software updates will clear that up.
I look forward to trying HD Blu-ray on this very soon!

Fast and Reliable NAS

This is my first NAS (Network Attached Storage) and I have looked into other products from WD and Synology. The Mirror is the BEST value I found for what it offers. I'm using this attached to my home network, where it is the Time Machine backup for our home iMac and then the media server for our various devices. This includes our Panasonic AX800 Smart TV, various Sony Blu-ray players, Apple TV and iOS devices. I tried the WD MyCloud first and it was not fast enough for HD H.264 movie playback. This one is great! I use Elegato's EyeTV to record broadcast TV and then send the media from my iMac to the WD Mirror for device access. I did also compare this one to the EX2 from WD, and it comes with two software features (iSCSI and Windows network feature) that did not apply to my setup and so was not worth the extra $40.

Does the band display your steps or do you have to look at your device to see your steps?
No, the display does not tell you directly the number of steps. You can see those in their excellent app. It does flash to show you when you've reached your goals!
