The original Temptations had great voices and did an amazing job of expressing the meaning of the fantastic lyrics in their songs. They were one of my favorite Motown groups and, like all other records on that label, the musicians were also fantastic.
This special collector's edition of The Ed Sullivan Show highlights the talk show host's keen eye for discovering talent and showing it off to America. Featured in this multidisc set are the original recordings of performances from Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, and many more.
Ed Sullivan's open-minded and gracious attitude gave the public a fantastic opportunity to learn about fantastic performances by many extremely talented people who may or may not have been promoted by anyone else.
Back in the day, I was fortunate to have gone to 2 of Otis Redding's concerts. He was the best performer I have ever seen - and I have seen a lot of greats. I've also heard some of his other live CDs and seen some videos of his concerts. Whenever he did a live performance, the audience loved him and it's really a thrill to listen to this CD collection to hear his greatness and to recognize how much he was appreciated.
This is an album I've been trying to find as a CD for a long time. I just discovered that Best Buy was one of the rare sources to get it. It was one of my favorite albums in the late '60s and I'm really glad to have found the CD version. Motown was a great record label and this particular album reflected the sound of soul more than just about any of their others. This is not criticizing the other albums, it is just that this one was one of their best.
This is an album I had on vinyl when it first came out in 1970 and I haven't heard it for a long time. I recently decided I wanted to hear it again and was excited to discover that Best Buy was one of the few sources that had it available. Myles Davis is known for being a fantastic jazz musician and this particular album not only reflects his talent, it offers extremely great music that is a unique approach to jazz.
