I got this for 39.00 on the Deal of the Day. Altec Lansing is a company I have trusted for many years. At the $99.00 MSRP it has really strong competition from UE, Bose and others but nothing competes with it at the sale price.
It makes for very good but not great music, is waterproof (but not submergible!) and plays plenty loud when close at hand outdoors and more than loud enough in a small room where I use it. It has decent bass and for those who are into heavy bass you may want something else. I like acoustic music- Jazz, vocal, folk, bluegrass and it is really good for these.

1st things 1st. This is a lightweight picker up in terms of mass and cleaning ability. I see adults who often bring their kids and kids equal crumbs. For picking up crumbs and pieces of Kleenex form off by the little ones this is terrific.
I can take off the handle in 2 second and store it in the 4" space between my desk and the wall. Love the wireless feature and not having to be on my hands and knees with a Dustbuster type of vacuum. I have a B&D Dustbuster for my car and love it but not for my office.

I got my 1st MK 570 in 2008 or thereabouts and thought it was great. A few years later I moved and somehow lost the dongle so bought another one. That one worked great until I dropped a month ago. It was several years old, too and had latency problems after the drop.
I consider it to be well constructed with really nice feeling key stroke. It has substance and all of the "accessory keys" worked without any headache. In fact the mute button on the OEM wired keyboard did not work but this one does?!
The mouse is good, too. Feels good in big hands and has excellent tracking and cursor placement.

I have never had success with EarPods of any brand including past efforts by Bose, which were wired, Apple, or any respected EarPods maker. They were always uncomfortable within minutes regardless of the tip and fell out when I moved my head.
My adult son got these and recommended I try them. No discomfort and did not fall out.
I bought my own a month ago and am happy with the fit even when walking and the comfort. The sound is more than acceptable but won't touch my over the ear headphones needless to say. Again, more than acceptable. I'd give the sound a B or B- depending on the type of music. With acoustic jazz definitely a B or maybe a B+. High hats and brushes aren't there so good but these are tough even for some midrange over ears in my experience. No problems hearing the double bass very clearly along with all the horns and the piano pieces. In view of the lightwight, portability and convenience that is a good tradeoff.
Got them on sale for $50 off otherwise couldn't quite justify the expense before the sale at BB. Definitely recommend.

I am someone who hates fan noise. I needed a fan and a heater for my office in an 1880's rehabbed building without storm windows on the 3' by 6' windows in my west facing office. In the winter the cold leaks through poorly joined sashes on the windows which we cannot caulk because it violates building code. In the summer it gets too hot from said windows even with blinds closed because the AC can't keep up quite enough. This moves air really well whether room temp or heated up. And it is the quietest fan I've ever been around saving me from stress.

Can I plug my Ipod into the Onyx EZ radio to listen to it through the car speakers?
I don't believe so. I have an iPod and the connections don't fit to my knowledge.

will this unit replace my current in-dash radio, meaning will I be able to toggle between XM and regular radio on this device?
I have a vehicle that came with XM radio built in. We will be selling that car and our other car is a 2005 Mazda with just standard radio. Will this eliminate my having to use the standard radio in the car or will I be able to use both and will I be able to simply transfer the existing subscription to the Mazda through XM? Thanks.
Absolutely. It is a terrific XM radio. I have done just what you are describing and never missed any of the reasons for having XM radio.

I am in a different truck every day for work. Is this radio easy to take from vehicle to vehicle?
Could not be simpler- power module in "cigarette lighter", antenna connector, and FM wireless connectivity or wire headphone jack connection. For those with a cassette player in the car (!) that type of adapter is available and has worked well.
