Some fun to be had but Minecraft this isn't. The interface is unnecessarily complex and the game seems to take forever to load. We spent $50 on this and, knowing what I know, I wouldn't spent over $15-$20.
My 10 year old has lost interest after two weeks of play.
Following the record-breaking launch of NBA 2K16, the NBA 2K franchise continues to stake its claim as the most authentic sports video game with NBA 2K17. As the franchise that “all sports video games should aspire to be” (GamesRadar), NBA 2K17 will take the game to new heights and continue to blur the lines between video game and reality.

The software developer apparently knows what's better for my child than I do; his account isn't allowed to play online due to the age restriction. If I could return this game I would and we will only rent titles from 2K Sports from here on -- we will not purchase ANY.
The game is okay. The graphics and animation are nice but we purchased to play online with his friends which he cannot do.

Whip up delicious meals with this Anova Precision Cooker WiFi. The device attaches to almost any pot with the included clamps, and it works to circulate water around in the pot to cook foods to the proper temperature. This Anova Precision Cooker WiFi works with smartphones to alert you when the food is done cooking.

Heard about this from a buddy, saw it on sale and decided to give it a try. Takes all the guesswork out of cooking pork chops, steaks... any meat really. The family LOVES everything cooked by the Anova.
I use an old round cake pan cover for the cooker. An odd choice, but it's perfectly sized. I do cover it with foil while cooking because I feel it improves heat retention and reduces evaporation (evaporation should really only be an issue for very long cooks of say 18+ hours) but that's my unproven opinion with no testing.
The only downside is the time required -- my Weber is hot in 10 mins and cooks a steak in 7 while this requires about an hour. I can't knock any stars off my rating because that's not a product flaw, it's a side-effect of the cooking style. The fact that you need an hour to cook a steak is the only downside but that hour is time well spent because every steak in the bath is cooked perfectly every time and you don't end up with one steak overdone and one underdone. Grill hot or cold spots are a non-issue.
I would definitely purchase this again and have recommended it to friends.

Received this at no charge under a Reward Zone promo so I expected to get the value I paid. I'm surprised that it looks great, feels great and functions as advertised. Have returned to purchase two more of them for my kids to use in the car.

This is my third Harmony. My first was a 650 and my second was an 890. The 890 stopped accepting a charge so I went for the Elite.
It's a good remote. It does RF which is key for me since my equipment is in the basement below the room where I use the remote. The programming for the 890 was done via the web and now, for the Elite, it's all done on your phone/tablet which for me is an iPhone. The programming is simple but not as simple as the old website.
I also find that programming is very fussy -- I sometimes have to tell it two or three times that I want something to work a certain way before it saves it. For example, I've told it three times I don't want the remote to power-off the PS4 yet it still powers it off when I press the "Off" button. Yet, for the Xbox, TiVo and AppleTV it has remembered the setting (after two tries for the TiVo and three tries for the ATV).
It's also very slow. When I press "Watch TV" it powers everything on and sets everything correctly but I'm unable to press the volume up/down for over five seconds after I see the picture. Annoying, but it works.
We don't really use the iOS app for controlling the TV but I can see how it might be handy on occasion but to me it's a bit cumbersome to unlock your phone, launch an app and wait for it to connect to the hub before being able to do anything.
The touchscreen is constantly getting bumped and you end up changing channels or making a setting change accidentally. The 890's screen was less sensitive and more adept at being incorporated into a remote control product.
I would recommend the Elite but only if you get a deal on it. At around $350 it's just too expensive for the quality. It's really about a $150 product. I got it for the $100 off with the trade-in of my 890 which made it more palatable, but I'd still argue $250 is too much.
You take the lead as your team approaches a clean new area, free of color and chaos. With a smirk, you take it all in — you'll soon change that. Two teammates begin spraying down walls, floors, ceilings and every other imaginable surface with ink, claiming this territory as your own with a vivid wash of your colors. You and another fighter scan the area for enemies. The opposition never sees you as you sneak up and douse them in an ink bath they'll never forget. This turf is all yours — it's time to move on and paint the whole world in your team's colors.Get messy with Splatoon, a fun-filled third-person action shooter that challenges you to cover levels, and enemies, with a brilliant spray of colorful ink. Take on the role of an Inkling, a squid-like fighter ready to cover yourself and everything around you with your team's hues. Cover the terrain around you in ink to claim it, and spray walls to gain access to hard-to-reach areas. Earn high-powered super weapons by soaking your turf in ink, so you can cover your enemies in color or spray more territory. Put on your thinking cap to dream up devastating strategies, but don't forget to keep an eye on your turf — too much attention on the other team may lead to a redecoration of your own territory. Easily refill your tank or hide from enemies with just a touch of a button, or transform into a squid and dive into ink for a blazing-fast speed boost. Attack your own way with a multitude of control options thanks to the Wii U GamePad controller, including gyroscopic controls that let you look around, aim and more with precision. Band together with three friends and get online to take on other teams in four-on-four matches that will have you perched on the edge of your seat. A color-soaked battle awaits — are you ready to claim your turf?

Lots of comparisons with third-person shooters and Splatoon out there but I think the similarities are skin-deep. Splatoon requires much different strategy than most TPS games (CoD, Battlefield, Halo, etc.).
I bought this for my 7 year old son but we find ourselves taking turns in multiplayer more than anything -- it's VERY addicting. The gameplay is frantic because rounds are only three minutes. So far there are only two game types with more to come, but our favorite is the general multiplayer where your goal is to paint more of the arena than the opposing team. There are power-ups to help and equipment you can buy or earn to help boost your squid (your in-game persona) abilities.
The game is an absolute blast to play and rounds are short so it's easy to forget that last round where it was lopsided and your team was crushed.
I'm rating the game 5 stars because it's just that good -- the gameplay is fresh, the graphics & sound are outstanding, and the single-player gives you several hours of fun (and rewards you upon completion). The setup, the style, the gameplay... they all are so typical "Nintendo" and that's a very good thing.
That said, there are a couple things I'm hoping Nintendo changes. The news squids are funny but being forced to watch them periodically is annoying. And occasionally the game lobby seems to get "stuck" and you end up spending 2-3 minutes waiting for players or watching people drop out of the lobby, and you can't do ANYTHING while you're in the lobby -- not even leave!
The last improvement I'm hoping for relates to the mechanics of changing equipment (paintgun, paint brush, headwear, etc.). I'd like to be able to change my equipment without losing the group of people I'm grouped with.
Those downsides will be addressed, I'm sure. Don't wait: buy this one with confidence!

Other Rooms
Will this remote control components located behind a wall? The TV is mounted on the family room wall but all components, including BluRay, direcTV box etc are on the other side of the wall under the stairs.
Yes. All my components are in the basement under my family room and all commands are taken by the hub via RF, not IR. The hub then emits IR via little IR blasters that are wired to the hub. You WILL need to be able to route one of the blasters to your TV so it can emit IR to control it.
