Top Shelf Ear Buds
on November 24, 2021
Posted by: Mukman
from Mukwonago
Wow, Top dog in my collection
These are premium ear buds.
Fantastic fit and sound quality. Best bass and over all sound quality I have experienced to date.
A soon as you unpack these you start to experience the quality. You get multiple size ear tips and wings to provide your custom fit. They fit great and I can wear them all day.
Simple set up and I already had the app on my phone from another set of Soundcore headphones I own so I was easily able to add these new Liberty 3 Pros.
First thing I noticed was quite a few more options with this set of earbuds than the others I have been using.
Here are the overall features (and some commentary) within the Soundcore App.
Top of the first screen will show you a picture of your ear buds and the battery level of each earbuds and the case. (this is a 5 level scale, here I would prefer a percentage)
Here is a list of other selections:
Ambient Sound
-Noise Canceling - Active noise canceling that works fantastic.
-Normal
-Transparency mode (Vocal and Fully Transparent)
Sound Effect and Hear ID
- HearID will test your personal hearing and adjust both sound and Noice Canceling based on your personal needs and surrounding. Pretty top shelf stuff.
- You can also select 3D Surround Sound, about 20 preset Defaults or custom EQ setting.
Sound Mode
-LDAC or Combined Audio and Quality modes are available.
Controls
- Here is where you can assign single tap, double tab, hold 2 seconds, tap three times to control each year bud with the controls of your choice.
More Settings
- Wearing detection – With this ON, the music will pause when you remove an earbud.
- Device list – You can connect to 2 bluetooth devices at once (awesome feature by the way, but not available with LDAC turned on), and here you can see each of your connections and turn them off and on.
- Prompt tone – When this is set to ON, each touch of the earbud provides a brief tone. This is extremely helpful in knowing if your touch was felt by the software. I still personally prefer actual buttons over touch control, but the tone feedback is the next best thing.
- Fit test – Provides testing procedure to make sure you have the best fit possible for audio quality and noise canceling.
- Auto power off – You can choose from 30, 60, 90, 120 min. or Never power off.
- Firmware update
- Quickstart guide
The immediate feature I immediately liked about the Liberty 3 pro set over my other set of daily earbuds (other than the added sound quality) were the audible Tone feedback when touching the buttons, Dual connection mode, Wearing detection and the ability to set the auto off timeframe. Features I missed with some of the other earbuds I have been using.
You now also have the choice to use standard Codec or switch to Sony’s LDAC.
What is LDAC?- From Soundcore website: LDAC technology is for a Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified listening experience. 3x more data is transferred from your device to the earbuds to preserve every little detail in the song. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 that does offer this Bluetooth codec. I had to go into developer setting to turn it on through.
Now back to the Sound – It is fantastic. These LP3’s have Astria Coaxial Acoustic Architecture..So what is that you ask? So did I. From what I learned, this is basically 2 speakers (drivers) in one. One is strictly for the bass and the other Astria driver delivers the rest of the mid and high-end sound. (Just like those coaxial speakers we put in our cars and homes back in the day to replace the single cone design) the result is a more pure sound.
Calls – The call quality is great. I usually have these connected to both my phone and Microsoft Teams for work meetings. If outside, the wind and street noise is mainly removed from the ears on the other end of the line. The 6 mics and noise cancelation does a great job.
Battery - I run them off and on all day at my desk throughout my workday and they last all day. Grant it, sometimes on standby. I would say I get about 4-5 hours out of them before getting the low battery alert. (I do you ANC and am experimenting with LDAC which brings the battery life down) If you use no LDAC or ANC you will are supposed to get up to 8 hrs, but I would say it is closer to 6 hrs. You can also put them in the case to recharge as the case will recharge then up to 3 times (32 hrs).
Case – The only CON I can think of is the case. The slide top, backlights etc. are great, but you have to make sure you push down on the earbuds to make sure they make contact with the small pins. More than once I have put them in the case and came back the next day assuming they would be charged and to my surprise they were not.
Suggestion for Soundcore – It would be nice to have audible feedback of battery level and also when you lose Bluetooth connection.
BOTTOM LINE – If you want a top quality set of ear buds, with incredible sound and all the extra features these are for you.
Soundcore has really elevated themselves in my eyes as a top shelf audio company. Every time I think the sound quality can’t get any better, they prove me wrong.

Top Notch

The first thing you feel is the quality.
This percussion massage device is designed for the pro athlete, message, or physical therapist in mind. (Hence the PRO in the title).
The packaging alone screams top shelf.
In the box you get the main unit, a pouch with 5 attachments (fork, ball, cushion, flat, bullet) & charging cable.
Battery –
Simple on/Off switch is located on the bottom of the battery.
The battery indicator is a light around the bottom of the battery and will change color based on the charge (Green, to Yellow to Red). Very nice touch.
With a full charge you get up to 3 hours battery life. The battery is detachable which is allows for continued use if you have another battery to swap out.
Comfort and feel-
The Pill shape design offers comfort in the hand, the weight is 2.6 lb’s so a little heavier than the Hypervolt 2 or Hypervolt GO model.
You get a powerful massage from this device with the 90W motor and 14mm Stroke length.
The dial on the back is so slick. Each rotation to the right increases the speeds of the device.
5 speeds total (1700 ppm, 1900 ppm, 2100 ppm, 2400 ppm, 2700 ppm). This dial also has a Bluetooth indicator light and 3 indicator lights showing the pressure sensitivity level you are applying. (1-3)
APP -
The App provides guided routines and will keep track of your sessions when connected to the device.
This app is super useful to me as a beginner. It tells you what head attachment to use and even starts and stops the device during its guidance.
Speaking of the head attachments, they are very easy to take on and off you simply pull out and push on.
I am really loving this massage gun. I use it in the morning on my tight muscles or at night after a workout or after sitting too long at the desk.
My wife and I have bad backs, so this is a great tool to increase the blood flow and loosen those strained muscles.
Overall a very high end device that I would highly recommend. For those on-the-go you might want to also take a look at the lighter Hypervolt Go model (1.5lbs), or Hypervolt 2 (1.8lbs), but if you are in the professional environment or just need more power or options, you can’t go wrong with the Hypervolt 2 Pro.

Lightweight. Nice for the office

First impressions-
Well my first thought was ‘these don’t fit well at all’.
That was because I was trying to wear them like other earbuds that fit snug in the ear canal. These new Soundcore Life Note 3S earbuds are designed to sit back in your ear and project the sound forward into your ear (Soundcore’s zero pressure).
This took a while to get used too. My ears don't have a very deep cup for the earbud to rest in (see pics), so I wasn't sure how these would stay seated.
After wearing them for a few weeks now, I will say they stay in pretty good and are very comfortable to wear all day. I almost forget I have them in when not playing music. I basically use them at my desk and around the home and really appreciate that I can also hear things around me much better. No more people sneaking up on me and scaring the heck out of me.
I don’t think these are designed for any rigorous activity. If I try to wear them to work out, they will have a tendency to fall out.
Suggestion to Anker - Perhaps instead of the glossy plastic material they used they could have used a more rubber (sticky) material to help them stay in under higher activity.
Sound-
With this new style of fit I kind of expected a tinny sound, but I was a bit surprised as the sound quality is very good. They sound even better when you select the BassUp option in the EQ section of the Soundcore App.
The Soundcore app offers -
- Equalizer with preset sound setting and you can customize your own.
- Gaming mode (reduce latency and enhance sound)
- Controls – Customize SINGLE TAP (I assigned Volume- to left and Vol + to right), DOUBLE TAP, HOLD for 2s
- Superior Sleep – play sleep sounds like rain, waves, birds etc.
Calls – There are 4 mics for clear calls. I will say the sound quality is amazing. I have not had any complaints on the other end of the call either. I use them with my cell and with my computer via Microsoft Teams. (One at a time as they don’t support multiple connections at one time)
Battery - I run them OFF and ON throughout my workday and they last all day. Grant it, sometimes on standby. I would say the advertised 5 hours of playtime is accurate. You can also put them in the case to recharge for an add ‘l 30 hrs. of battery life. You can charge for 10 Minutes to get another hour of listening.
Bluetooth connection is strong. I can walk almost to the other side of the house without interruption.
IPX5 Waterproof
Conclusion – These are a great buy for your home and office use where you don’t want full isolation for the outside world, but still want quality sound.

Quality and easy set-up
on October 21, 2021
Posted by: Mukman
from Mukwonago
Wow, this was sooo easy to install.
Visual impression / Build –
A little more industrial looking than another touchpad lock I own, but looks nice installed and the larger touch pad does make it much easier to use. Nice finish and solid construction. It passes the BHMA ( Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association) grade 2 certification, which means it meets light commercial requirements and exceeds residential building requirements for build and security.
Packaging /Install -
As soon as you open the box you are greeted with a quality product and packaging.
There are multiple boxes, all independently numbered to correspond with the install steps.
The first step is to download the eufySecurity app onto your phone, sign up account, select the smart lock (WI-FI) and then scan the QR code under the battery compartment. From there. The app will take you to install video that is very well put together. I was able to remove old dead bolt and install this new one in less than 30 minutes. Zero problems. Every step has its own box of parts. Nice touch. A+ for packaging and instructions!
When you are done with the install, simply go back to the app on your phone and select the button ‘installation complete' and the app will walk you through the rest of your steps.
You can set a 4 to 8 digit security code for your lock and even add users with their own code so you can keep track of who is using the lock. You can also schedule a time and/or day in which the users’ access is granted.
Touchpad -
As mentioned above the touchpad has a nice tactile feel and is very easy to use. At night, simply touch any button to light up the number pad.
Assistants -
Works with Alexa and Google Assistant. When I connected the app to Google Home, the eufy app forced me to provide another 6-digit security code to unlock the door.
Timer-
The app also provides an option to have the lock automatically after a set amount of time.
They also include 5 keys as a backup in case the batteries die. There is also a micro-USB slot on the bottom of the keypad that you can plug a portable battery into if needed.
All tests worked perfectly. I even turned off my WI-FI and Bluetooth to make sure it worked like I was away from home.
The only weird issue I observed was when I go to the settings area of the app, the battery indicator showed low battery and it has only been one day. I did check the batteries and they are good. Once I re-installed I notice that a few minutes later the app icon is now green (Full), so my guess is this is an App glitch during set-up.
Overall, Quality product that is very easy to set up and use.

Wow - I am sold!

So when I got the opportunity to review a pillow at this cost, I thought to myself ‘How can a Pillow be worth this kind of money’? Well after sleeping on it for a bit, I have a better appreciation for this product.
I do have a leading manufacturers pillow that was about half the cost of this one and I was pretty happy with it, but once I started sleeping on this pillow, I found myself liking this Bedgear Cosmo more. I let my wife sleep on it a couple of nights to test it out herself and found myself wanting it back.
This is a heavy pillow with supportive layers on both sides, one is firm, and one has a softer feel.
This pillow is almost two pillows in one. It has an outer zip off washable cover that contains 2 compartments with two different types of inner pillows. One is a very pliable soft inner material and the other one feels like some kind of gel/memory foam.
I like that the zip off cover has 10 air vents around the perimeter which makes it very breathable.
I find that when I sleep on this my head stays cool and almost feels weightless Great support all through the night.
These pillows are offered in four different sizes; 0.0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. Bedgear offers a nice chart that provides a recommendation based on your body type and sleep position. I chose the 1.0 and it is a perfect fit for me. I am a 170lb male with slim build and sleep on my side and back.
I must admit, this is the best, most comfortable pillow I have personally used. Great support, comfort and simply provides me a better night sleep.
I highly recommend.

Good Camera with small improvements needed
on October 5, 2021
Posted by: Mukman
from Mukwonago
Easy setup and nice picture quality for 1080p..
Setting up was as easy as downloading Google Home to your phone and adding a new device. There's a QR scanner on the front of the camera that you can scan to connect to the app.
Install and App:
The app itself is intuitive and seems to work smoothly.
You simply open the app click on your camera and you're brought to either alive you or you can click on history to see triggered events from the past. Here you can also go to a ‘more’ setting to turn the camera on and off.
In the history tab you can view a timeline of events, or you can click on the full history to see past events.
This camera only records when it's triggered by an ‘event’ when using the free subscription. You get 3 hours of events total.
Nest Aware subscription sold separately. Continuous video recording requires that you wire Nest Cam with the Weatherproof Cable (sold separately). Familiar face alerts not available on cameras used in Illinois. For $60/yr you can get 30 days of recorded events and for $120/yr you can get 24/7 video history and 60 days backup.
To get to live video you need to open Google Home and tap on the camera icon. I do like how quickly the live video pops up after you press the button. However, I wish that when you clicked on a notification that would take you directly to the event it gave you notice about. My other two devices do this and automatically starts playback.
Camera:
I was kind of surprised Google has not taken this to 2k or 4k, but I will say the quality is very good for 1080p.
I mounted under an eve where I could plug it in with the weatherproof cable (sold separately), so I didn’t have to mess with charging it.
Battery will last you 1-6 months depending on use and event triggers.
If you lose power and Wi-Fi, you have onboard recording for one hour.
The Wi-Fi signal is great, no problems experienced at all.
The camera comes with a very strong magnetic base for easy mounting and removal.
Two-way audio seems to be clear and with very little delay.
Zones – you can set up your own zones and set notifications for vehicles, people, animals and all other motion.
Here is an issue that should be considered.
I did notice that I got much better event recording when plugged in. When on battery power it sometimes missed or shortened events that my other cameras (also running on battery) picked up. It missed a car pulling in my driveway but picked it up as the people got out of the car.
I did check my Zone setting and they all appear correct. I also turned off the Automatic battery saver and set the battery usage to ‘More recoding’ This help a little but still has a delayed start to the event when compared to when it is plugged in.
If you use this inside, you most likely won’t have this issue.
The optional stand for inside use is a nice feature with a heavy sturdy base (Sold Separately at $29.99)
Motion detection - 110 degree viewing angle which is okay, but not the widest out there. It states up to 25ft.
Pros:
Easy set up
Nice magnetic Mount
Quick interface with mobile app
Battery life
Google Home environment
Built in intelligence
Easy set up of detection area’s
Wi-Fi connection
Cons:
1080p
110° horizontal field of view (Up to 25ft.) – Others I own have 130° to 160°
Inconsistent event triggers while in battery mode.
Large footprint
Overall, a good quality camera and a nice easy to use app that works with your Google Home account.
If you are looking for 2K + or a wider viewing angle I would not recommend this unit as there are other choices out there for about the same price that seem to do a little better job on event recording when in battery mode. However, if you want to keep everything in the Google home environment and you use the power cable or use in battery mode inside, this would be a good entry point for you.

Nice Basic Crockpot
on September 24, 2021
Posted by: Mukman
from Mukwonago
When first pulling this crockpot out, I found it to be very basic.
It is a nice neutral that would match most kitchens. The few controls that
are offered (4,6,8 or 10 Hour options) makes this easy to use , but I would prefer a few more heating
options (temperature). The locking lid is a great feature, and the seal is tight. The
Crock material is quality and cleaned up beautifully. The rubber feet are nice as well, protecting any surface from scratches..
Functionally, it works great. Con - I was unimpressed with the flimsy material used for the
outside of it. I feel as though it would dent easily. Time will tell.
I liked the small crockpot that came with this and would use this for dips,
but with no heating controls, I will have to monitor the heat when using it.
It will most likely be a lot of stirring and unplugging to make sure nothing
burns.
If you are looking for a larger basic crockpot, this is a great choice.

Wow, super impressed with these Elite 3’s.

First off, the pairing was simple and works with Google fast pair. So every time you connect you get the pop up on your phone to indicate the connection and battery level of each earbud.
The fit is fantastic. Fit straight out of the box. I usually have trouble with earbuds fitting and staying in, so far, no problem with these. They have a narrow neck that fits down the ear canal nicely. They are also very light which helps.
Sound quality is what I would expect from earbuds twice the cost. Jabra uses AptX technology to deliver an amazing clean mix of sound you expect from the Jabra brand. You can choose from preset EQ setting from within the Jabra+ app. I use the BASS setting and I must say I am very impressed with the bass you get from these earbuds.
The app also allows you to select a Hear Through setting which utilizes the mics to let you hear sounds around you better. These don’t have noise canceling, but the noise isolation seems to work as well. I tested them against another set of NC earbuds when using the lawn tractor and they isolated the sound the same.
One of the standout features for me are the Physical buttons. I really prefer this as you can actually feel the press of the button instead of hoping the earbud felt your finger touch.
Speaking of the buttons, you can easily activate the Hear Through or Assistant (Siri, Google, Alexa) with simple touches of the left earbud. You can also assign one touch to Spotify if you prefer.
Call quality is great as well.
Battery life – up to 7 hours when in use (28 hours with case & fast charge) and you get 1 hour of use per 10 minutes of charge in the case.
Bottom line – These earbuds are amazing, especially at this cost. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

Full home cleaning without a cord!
on August 18, 2021
Posted by: Mukman
from Mukwonago
We have been Shark fans over the years and our go-to vacuum has been the ‘DuoClean Shark Lift Away Speed’.
This Shark® Cordless Vertex™ Pro Vacuum has the same head width as the Lift Away and is about 6 lb’s lighter and cleans better. All without a cord.
I have had two of the Lift Away models and my wife loves them. The only problem we have had with that model over time is the hose at the bottom, that goes from the wand to the vacuum head. After a few years that flexible vacuum tube cracks, and you cannot replace it. You must replace the whole head ($96 at the time). I don’t see a parts list for this Vortex Pro model yet, but it does appear you will be able to take the unit apart if needed. The hose also feels a little more pliable as well. So far so good Shark.
Suction:
This unit cleans great. It features a deep-cleaning DuoClean 2 roller system. You have the soft front roller and a new PowerFins self-cleaning brushroller. The back roller is designed to reduce the hair that wraps around it and pick up more dirt. Between these two rollers you really get a clean floor very quickly.
This vacuum cleans our area rugs pretty well. I have tried multiple vacuums that will not handle these light area rugs at all.
You have three buttons on the control unit. Power button, Hard Floor/ Carpet button and a Suction button. The hard floor setting allows you two slow down the brush roller speed. Then you also have a suction mode which gives you 3 settings, eco mode, deep clean mode, and a boost mode. Between all these options you really can find the mode you need for all cleaning situations.
I like the battery power indicator as well. It shows a large digital readout of percentage of battery left.
Battery Life:
I was a bit concerned with only getting one battery, but I was pleasantly surprised at how long it does last. I was able to clean both floors in my house with one charge. That amounts to about 3 to 4000 square feet of mostly carpet. Pretty impressive.
Ease of Use:
The first thing both my wife and I noticed is that when you are pulling back on the vacuum, the back of the head (wheels) lifts off the ground on thicker high pile carpet. It appears the rear of the head is almost too light. It still appears to clean good regardless. I found that I could keep the head flat to the floor by going slower, applying pressure in a downward fashion on the grip or holding the handle closer to the ground. (-1/2 star)
This does not appear to happen on lower pile carpet or hard floors.
Break away handle:
What a great feature.
You can push a button to break away the handle to get under beds, furniture etc. and fold it completely in half for storage. This is one negative that I always found with other stick vacs as you could never store them without leaning them against a wall or hanging it on a charging rack. The Shark Vertex Pro can stand all by itself when folded in half. LOVE THIS FEATURE!
Attachments:
The pet multi tool, Crevice tools and Dusting brush all work great. The Anti-allergen Dusting brush reaches nicely under things like washers and dryers.

Cleaning:
Hold the vacuum over a garbage can and press the dust cup release button. This makes opening the bottom cover easy to clean the unit, however I found much of the pet fur stayed in the top of the cup, so I had to shake hard or reach in with a tool or my fingers to get it out. It would be nice if the whole dust cup would slide down to help release the dirt off the inner filter, or Shark could include a flexible clean stick to pull or push the dirt out. I do have 2 dogs, so the cup fills with fur every time (-1/2 star).
You also have a pre-motor foam and felt filter to clean along with a post-motor HEPA filter. Manual recommends cleaning (rinse with water) of the Pre-motor filters once per month and post-motor once per year.
The soft Roller comes out easily with a side button located on the side of the head unit. I don’t see a way to remove the back roller.
Overall, I really like this vacuum. Love not having a cord and it simply cleans great.

Light and powerful Laptop

This is a very light (2lb 8oz) 2 in 1 laptop..
This is also a fast little unit since it is equipped with the latest i7 processor (11th gen Intel 1165G7 @ 2.80 GHz)
16 GB RAM
510GB SSD
Review of things that stood out to me;
The QLED screen -
Super sharp and bright. It even has an ‘outside’ setting allowing you to brighten even more in those sunny situations. Nice touch sensitivity as well. Windows pen worked great on it.
Speakers-
Pretty average. Speakers are on the bottom, so if sitting on a soft surface the audio will be muted. However, if you flip over the screen to prop up the laptop (Like a tent) speakers are aimed at you. Bluetooth is your best option for music of course.
Backlit keyboard –
this is really a bummer for me (Only drawback really The reason for -1 star). All other laptops I have I can turn on and off the backlit keyboard. With Flex2 Alpha you have a choice of how long it takes for the light to timeout, but you cannot force it to stay on. As you can see in my pictures because of my overhead lighting it makes the keyboard difficult to read the keys at times. I would prefer to keep the backlit keyboard on at all time in this environment.
Smooth and accurate touchpad.
I do like the feel of typing on this keyboard.
Fingerprint reader work instantly.
Fan –
Seems to run a bit more than other perhaps, but it is quite.
Battery –
Fast charging. If watching videos or a movie, you will get more like 5-6 hours on a full battery.
Battery saver mode 99% charge tells me I have about 8 hours left based on my use. If you do very light work, or it sits idle, then you may get up to 17 hours.
Connections –
Aux. Audio, Micro SD, 2 USB, USB C (Does not charge device) and HDMI.
I powered 2 monitors with a USB C Hub, no problems there. I really like the HDMI option as well though.
Software-
Samsung Flow allows you to link your phone and get all tests, notifications etc.
Also love the Samsung Studio Plus – Nice video editing and slide show software.
Overall this is a lightweight powerful 2 in 1 that would tackle all your daily tasks. Great for students, travelers, really anyone looking for great value.

Are these earbuds usable with Sony TV when we already are wireless ready?

If your TV can pair to Bluetooth headphones it should work. I did get them connected to my Samsung with no problem.

How long does the battery actually last, it says 14 hrs, I plan on using them at work for about 10 hrs straight , on max volume?

I can't say at MAX volume, but I use mine all day at work on and off and have not approached empty. I would think they would get you through your day. I would be cautions though, running at max volume for 10 hrs/day everyday may not be healthy in the long run.

Has anyone experienced any skin irritation in your ears from the silicone ear tips on these earbuds? I've experienced this with LG's silicone ear tips on their neckband style headphones and had to get foam tips to fix the issue.

No problems here. Sounds like you have may have a Silicone allergy.

Can the back of the monitor be attached to a dual monitor stand? I do not see the four mounting screw holes in the picture.

It does not have the mounting holes

Monitor your property from your smartphone with this Wi-Fi enabled Guardzilla 360-degree outdoor camera. The 100dB siren warns off potential intruders, while night detection records in dim conditions for enhanced security after sunset. This Guardzilla 360-degree outdoor camera instantly alerts your phone when motion is detected, so you can react quickly.

My camera will not connect . Is it because the batteries are in the camera while it is plugged in? If so that is stupid. But please let me know everything in my wireless rig works except this very expensive and so for useless and temperamental junk. Peace

Mine works fine with batteries and plugged in. not even sure how to take batteries out.
contact their customer service dept. I called them for an issue and they were very friendly and helpful.

Enjoy crystal-clear phone calls with these Jabra wireless headphones. Dual-microphone technology eliminates background noise, so your voice is heard clearly, and the flexible wire neckband retains its shape and contours for maximum daily comfort. These water-resistant Jabra wireless headphones provide eight hours of battery life for all-day performance before needing to charge.

Can you charge these using a computer USB port? My PC sees it as a USB device then does not charge, regardless of the port attached to. Using supplied cable and USB 2 or 3 ports. Using a cell phone charger does as expected.

Yes, It works on both of my laptops.
