Bought two of these, both looked great, couldn't tell they had been used.
After calling Nest customer service (who were very friendly), realized one was defective. Now Bb is sold out so not sure what to do now. I should have bought three, knowing that statically at least 30% of products ordered as refurbished / geek squad certified, would arrive defective (based on personal purchase history). Ughh, b and h here I come...

This is actually a decent smart plug for the price (on sale 20.00)...I've used ihome, idevices, edimax, belkin, and tplink and the last two had issues with my airport extreme. The first two were nice but overpriced. The Edimax and this model seem very similar. Though the setup/app on the Insignia smart plug is much easier and user friendly.

What is the battery life on this machine?
Realistic, with the screen at a brightness I could actually see and the keypad lit up 24/7 (a cool feature given not enough PC makers seem to realize this is a vital part of using a computer after dinnertime), I would say I averaged about five hours, running iTunes while browsing the web, etc.

Does this model come with the Windows Hello security feature (4k screen version has it)?
it does and when it works it is very cool. But the technology is not quite there yet. For example, if I used the webcam to take my picture as the password during the daytime then tried to log on at night, or vice versa, the "Hello" feature seemed to struggle with using my face in the vastly different night vs. day settings and I would have to go back to using my PIN and recalibrate the feature.
