I was skeptical about Tivo for some reason. Now that I have the system, I don't know what i do without it. I read some horror stories about installation with a cable card, but my setup was relatively easy. The only complaint I have about Tivo, is you can't easily follow your favorite sports team with a one pass.

whats the difference between the 92000 and 93000?
The 93000 is the RF version. Definitely worth the slight price increase.

Is the remote IR or RF?
My Roamio came with a RF remote. I highly recommend buying the TiVo C00260 Roamio Slide Pro DVR Remote. the keyboard makes searches so much easier. I use the RF remote that came with the Roamio as an additional remote in my office for use with the TiVo mini in my bedroom.
