It basically taught itself what I have. You don't need to aim the remote at the TV, awesome.
During Setup, it asked if I want to include the various electronics it found including my complete Sonos Setup.
Bought this since Samsung went on the cheap or failed to properly program the latest brand new 9000 Series 65".

what causes the screen to freeze on the remote?
Always remember, there's software programming driving this remote. Just like a computer, it can freeze, same as the many Smart TVs doing the same when using certain Apps.
If it continues, I'd try resetting to original manufacturer settings and let it recycle through like when it was new.
As info, I don't work for this company or any related Best Buy company. This is based on my many years of experience in dealing with software and electronics. Going all the way back to the Hayes Modems, those big things that are now paperweights if you still have one.
