I picked up this Blu Ray on a whim because it was on sale on BB site for $5. Great production, beautiful sets, grandiose scenes. The only problem is if you don't know your Three Kingdoms history (Chinese history) you will find yourself lost immediately as I was. Unfortunately I read the history afterwards and that is when the plot made sense.
You have to start each review of a Misfits disc by recognizing this is not Danzig in the lineup. With that said this is a solid disc with some stand out songs. Dig Up her Bones is a hit that will last their entire career and is great live.
Strong off their last release Stryper cannot put a foot wrong. From disc to disc since the 1980s they have increased their musicianship and songwriting capabilities. Fallen has strong songs, wild singing and wailing guitar solos.
The latest, and a long time overdue, CD from Sanctuary doesn't miss the mark. For those of us waiting for another Nevermore CD, forget it. Chris joined Arch Enemy (its over). The CD is very reminiscent of vintage Nevermore, guitar riffs a plenty. The drums not as on par. Overall great metal in dying world of the genre.
Fans of metal core or / and death core not need read this review. Fans of White Chapel know what they are getting. And get it you do on this release. Full of skull-splitting fun!
I am a huge fan of A7X. I was very excited when I heard the demo tapes of Waken the Fallen were being released. That disc is amazing, the demos were sometimes not even close to the final version. Loved it. Problem is they decided to add Waken the Fallen as a disc (uh, we already own that if we are fans?) and disc 3 is a throw away interview piece that includes very little of The Rev. Price was unusually high as a result. Should have been 7 - 9 $ disc.

What's great about it: Demo Tapes
What's not so great: Another copy of WTF and Interview DVD
As a life-long Pretty Maids fan I have every CD they ever put out, through the good years and the bad. This new CD comes off one year from the gem Motherland. The CD has some good new tunes and some remakes of previous hits (nice job with them). I was excited to see they were going to put the "old" stuff on the DVD from past performances. News flash, not so much. A few glimpses of the old days, very few indeed, and mostly footage of the now aging rockers chatting in their bus about life on the road. OK, I get it, the tour bus is not that awesome. I would have preferred the CD version for $10 new rather than pay the extra for left over footage a rabid fan didn't sit all the way through.
Alestorm returns with another melodic metal masterpiece. The songs are great, the music is aggressive and polished. If you are not familiar with the Pirate Metal genre then look no further than Alestorm.
For all the long time Queensryche fans like myself you have been desperately waiting for some glimmer of hope there is steam left in the QR songwriting. The ST album is a complete reboot with Wilton and Jackson writing the music. Todd sounds incredible (Tate like - sometimes) but the similarities are not overwhelming. The songs are revitalized and production is good. If you are looking for Mindcrime or Rage - don't. It took me a few listens before I really "got" the new CD.

Serenity has matured some since their last CD. The music is tight, the vocals are great. The addition of Clementine, as their new singer #2, adds some to the CD. Her voice is not strong but accentuates the music nicely.
