BrandonB_BBYSTAFF's Reviews

SynopsisThe long-awaited and much-anticipated next installment of the award-winning The Elder Scrolls franchise is here. Now, the expansive, open world that forever revolutionized the face of the fantasy epic leads you deeper into the combat, the magic and the myth than you've ever been before. This time, you don't just play as a character, you truly become whomever it is you wish to be — and have the freedom to do anything you can possibly imagine. This follow-up to the 2006 Game of the Year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, offers stunning graphics and a gripping storyline that immerses you in the game from the moment you turn it on. Are you ready to unroll the Scroll and let the journey begin?Imagine rolling clouds, rugged mountains, bustling cities, lush fields and crumbling dungeons. Imagine ancient dragons beholding secrets so powerful they could transform your future. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim immerses you in the engrossing world of the franchise you already know and love with more realism, more choice and more intensity than ever before. Featuring a new game engine that brings every tiny environmental aspect to life in blistering detail and AI that brings you close to your allies — and your enemies — Skyrim blurs the line between your world and that of the game. An all-new character engine opens wider an already vast virtual world, putting every decision, every action and every consequence entirely in your hands as you arm yourself with hundreds of new weapons, abilities and spells. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the creators of the 2008 Game of the Year, Fallout 3, this immaculate fifth chapter challenges your skills, immerses your mind and will forever change the way you view gaming. It's time to return. It's time for Skyrim.

An amazing new Elder Scrolls

The game itself is amazing, the world is huge and there are endless things to do in it. The characters in the game will randomly spawn you new quests as you play based on previous things you do in the game. All of the best guilds have returned for this game, and are better then ever.
Graphics are absolutely beautiful as is the voice acting.
I believe that this game is a definate improvement over Oblivion, and is more back to what Morrowind was, which many would say is a great thing.
With over 400 hours of gameplay. I highly recommend it.
What's great about it: Graphics, Voices, World
What's not so great: Price
I would recommend this to a friend!

A great game, but not on this system

I have four copies of Skyrim in my house, between all of them I have one on each system. I was extremely disappointed by the 360 version, the graphics on it are noticably worse then those on both the PS3 and the PC. If you are getting it, go PC for PS3.
The game itself is amazing, the world is huge and there are endless things to do in it. The characters in the game will randomly spawn you new quests as you play based on previous things you do in the game. All of the best guilds have returned for this game, and are better then ever.

What's great about it: World, Lore, Quests, Guilds
What's not so great: Graphics on 360

An OK Reader, but still not the best

I will start by saying that we own the original nook, this nook (simple touch) and the Kindle.
While I do believe that this device definately is an improvement over the original, there are still many issues with it. The first issue is with the touch capability. Sometimes it works great, other times we can't get it to take our input for the life of us.
Next, the software in the unit is still very buggy. We have had many times where we have had to completey kill the power and restart it because it stopped responding or froze. This was also an issue with the original, however it seems to be slightly improved, just not enough to suit my liking.
Feature-wise, they have not improved the device at all from the original (I do not count the fact that they finally put a decent e-ink display in it, as they should have the first time). It still does not have the ability to read books outloud, and still does not have a decent web browser.
Lastly, Barnes and Noble has HORRIBLE customer service for this device. It is non-existant compared to that of Amazon's Kindle.
In the end I would recommend that anyone who wants to go with an E-Reader bypass this and go with the Kindle instead, please see my review on the Kindle if you wish to know my thoughts on that device.
What's great about it: If you want a face with the device you can go to any Barnes & Noble Store
What's not so great: Customer Service, Touch Screen, Software, Web Browser

Amazing game, great addition to the series

I went into this game expecting to be decently pleased as I am with all Final Fantasy games, however it turned out to be much more then I could have hoped for. The graphics are absolutely amazing, the game runs extremely smooth and is always a pleasure to look at. All of the characters are interesting in their own ways and I enjoy their interactions. As to be expected with any Final Fantasy, the story is great, and creative, I find myself always wanting to know what will happen next. This game is a great choice not only for Final Fantasy Fans, but anyone who enjoys RPGs.
What's great about it: Graphics, Story, Characters, Music
What's not so great: I wish it didn't have to end.
I would recommend this to a friend!
