I burn through batteries pretty quickly with kid's toys and other electronics and it's nice having been able to buy a cheap (around $8) pack of numerous AAA batteries that I can confidently use without feeling bad about depleting quickly. In all honesty, I haven't had to change any batteries out yet after several weeks of usage. What I thought would last a few minutes has proven to be a longer-lasting, pretty dependable battery -- an added bonus.

My only comment is that I was slightly skeptical since I bought a bulk pack of lesser known brand batteries. honestly, I can't really speak to their lifespan yet, but these have been great for quickly throwing in the kids' toys. I haven't had to replace any yet after several weeks of use and they seem well made. At around $8, this was an absolute steal.

A fun movie, honestly...

I know I'll get some flak for going against the general consensus here, but I truly enjoyed this movie. It was big, the sets and cinematography were great and, in general the plot/storyline was pretty good. The Wachowski's suffer from having created a masterpiece in The Matrix and now, unfortunately for them, all of their work is compared to it. I think the movie had a good mix of humor and and action, didn't take itself that seriously and had great effects. Yes, I'm one of maybe 20 people of the 300 that actually went out and saw this in the theaters that enjoyed the film. I wasn't blown away by anything in particular, there was nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary in what was presented, but I still liked it a lot. The only issue I had was a frequent inability to understand the whisper-speak of Eddie Redmayne's (Balem) character. He was a little over the top, but clearly had fun and control of interpreting his character. I like explosions, and werewolves that rollerskate through the sky -- what can I say?! I guess I just don't need to be overly critical and can sit back and enjoy a movie regardless of it's inability to achieve critical acclaim.

A decent smart phone

Overall this was a great buy at $29 or whatever cheap black friday price I paid. The display is a little washed out and not quite as vibrant as other phones on the market, but for the price paid and knowing this isn't a top-tier model, I can't complain. As a standalone WiFi device (which was the intended purpose), this has been a great option to give to the kids without worrying as to whether or not they might break it while playing with it -- I don't care one way or another. This will make a good portable media/gaming device provided there are no memory issues encountered as some have claimed.

Impressive for a cheap 40"

I got this as a Black Friday special for under $200. With that in mind, just about any 40" TV is a steal at that price. Given that this at least has 2 HDMI ports and 1080p (even if only at 60Hz), the picture quality was pretty good and the sound was decent as well. I mounted this in my office last night after unboxing it and it's a good size, not too thick considering all the slimmer models out there these days (I think this one is about 3" deep). It weighs next to nothing which was nice too for mounting purposes (did it alone despite the recommendation to have another pair of hands available to assist).
The color was a little oversaturated -- not like a Samsung that seems to always come like that from the factory but still looks amazing. As a result, flesh tones and people looked overly colored. Although I didn't perform any type of proper calibration, I did mess with the picture settings enough to where I got a picture that is more realistic and balanced -- one I can be very happy with if I left it as is.
I hooked up a PS4 and the picture was also great and plugged in my MHL Roku stick from a few years back and was streaming from Hulu and Netflix in a matter of minutes.
As a no frills set, this did provide some options and was ultimately a great purchase. Would I have preferred a slightly larger set with 3D, a dependable name, more ports and a higher refresh rate? Of course, but I also would have paid another $200 minimum for that and probably in a 32" form factor.
I bought a separate 720p 60Hz 20" Insignia TV a month or two prior to this and I have to say, for a lower end product, the Insignias are turning out to be decent choices that I wouldn't hesitate to buy.

I think there was a decent amount of hype about this movie that compelled me to purchase it. It was entertaining and probably would have been a better rental option, but I did enjoy it enough...just probably won't rush back to watch it over and over again. The style in which it was shot was interesting though and that added to the movie's appeal.

Even better than the first

I sort of liked the first HTTYD movie, but this one was way better. The characters are more established, the animation was great and the story was halfway decent. My daughter had a much more enjoyable time with this one too as it also seemed less "scary" than the original. We've already watched it a bunch of times and it hasn't lost any of its shimmer.

Secure and good battery life

I found this on clearance so for $25, it was a great buy for my iPhone 5. I typically use Otterboxes to protect my phones, but now that I've upgraded, I'm a little more lenient and willing to put the phone in a different case if it means I can keep the kids entertained longer on road trips with sine extra juice via this case. Overall, it does protect well, but would be nice if it came with a screen guard -- I ended up adding a ZAGG protector and now it's good to go. This thing is great for long drives, but given today's standards in phone thickness, I don't know that I'd want to walk around with it regularly as my default case. It's not unwieldy though, not much bigger than the Otterbox for that matter, so I can't really complain. Overall, it was a great find for such a cheap price, but I wouldn't spend the $99 it was marked at originally.
