Was pretty satisfied upon purchasing although the food processor jug didn't really process the food, the propeller just pushed the food to the top of the jug and it's very tough to clean. It was great for making smoothies though or processing food in the blender jug...
However after 3.5 months of moderate use, it now only blends water - put anything else in, milk, some berries etc, the propeller doesn't work. Because I didn't purchase an extended warranty, I have to go through the manufacturer and send the item to Arizona for repair which takes up to a month and you have to include a check for them to send it back to you.
Make sure you purchase the extended warranty through Best Buy to save a lot of trouble. Reviews for this product on Amazon have also mentioned the same thing happening so it must be a common issue with this model. Id' recommend not getting one that is all plastic as this one is and go for something sturdier. Very disappointing for the price.

Is the food processor part powerful enough to make peanut butter out of peanuts?
The Food processor part is useless, it just pushes the food to do the top and the blade ends up blending thin air. The Blender jug though did work well for us to blend nuts and make toppings and sour cream for our vegan friends out of cashews. Just note that our model died after 3.5 months and Best Buy wouldn't replace it, it has to be send back to the manufacturer in Arizona for repairs which will take over a month. So not only is this a costly model, if you need a blender in the interim, you'll just have to buy another one while you wait. I don't recommend this product at all.

Question about travel cups
Can you make smoothies directly in the cups? If not, how difficult/easy is the blender to clean? We would use this daily and easy clean up is important.

Only if there's not a lot of ingredients in it, anything more than some milk and powder and the travel cups don't have enough room for the liquid and contents to circulate. The blender jut works great but it's not the easiest to keep clean. Also note, our model died after just over 3 months of moderate use.
