I like the Air Conditioner

The only reason this air conditioner did not get 5 starts is due to the installation instructions. I am good at mechanical and construction work. However, I had a hard time understanding some of the instructions and how they wanted certain things installed. I took way too long to install the brackets for the window because of how the instructions walked you through the install. Other than that the Air Conditioner works well and cools my office and Bedroom.

does this air conditioner require a thru the wall sleeve?
it states in description that it comes with a slide out chassis and quick mount window kit. i plan on cutting a hole in the wall and permanently mounting this thing in place.

does this unit turn off (compressure & fan)
when the room temp gets to say 75 does this unit turn off (compressor & fan) & then restart when temp goes up to lets say 79
If you have the unit in Econ mode yes both the fan and the condenser shut off. Otherwise the fan stays off when the condenser shuts down at temp.

Will this fit in a window 25" wide?
I see from the specs that this unit is only 23" wide but I am thinking that is without the accordion sides and was wondering how much extra room you need to calculate for those.
The exact dimensions are 23 X 17.5 inches without the wings. If you lose the wings then it should make it.

Height of the unit?
I have a fedders sleeve in the new place I moved into. If I wanted to put this unit into that sleeve instead of the window what dimensions does the sleeve need to be?
The exact dimensions of the unit is 23 X 17.5 without the wings.

Does this unit come with Support Brackets?
Considering the size and weight (over 100lbs?) does this AC have to be installed with support brackets? How did you install it on the window?
There are support brackets on the outside of the window. They only adjust the height of the AC unit so that it drains properly. They are not meant to hold weight. I have no problem with the unit in my window. It is very well balanced and the window is the only thing holding it there. No damage to my window at all. I was extremely surprised once it was installed. When I first saw the brackets I thought they were for support. Hope this helps.
