AFTER READING COUNTLESS REVIEWS ON HOW GOOD THEY SOUND....BALANCED SOUND, GREAT MIDS AND HIGHS AND PRETTY DECENT BASS AS EVERYONE SAYS...I TOOK A CHANCE AND BOUGHT A PAIR....THE FIRST THING I DID WAS HOOK THEM UP TO MY MIXER..WITH ALL CONTROLS SET AT NEUTRAL...THEY REALLY SOUNDED FLAT ..NO BASS AT ALL..AND IM NOT LOOKING FOR BEATS TYPE BASS, BUT JUST SOME BASS..THE MIDS AND HIGHS WERE THERE ..BUT JUST OK...MY SKULLCANDY AVIATORS WERE WAY BETTER IN A AND B COMPARISON..PLUS WHEN YOU PUT THE M40X'S ON YOUR HEAD YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE WEARING DEER ANTLERS...OR YOU'RE WALKING AROUND AS A CELL TOWER, THATS HOW MUCH THEY STICK OUT!!...ALSO THE EARCUPS THEMSELVES SPIN AROUND LIKE CRAZY..AND IM CONSTANTLY JUGGLING THEM AROUND TO STAY STRAIGHT..FOR THE PRICE THEY ARE ALSO CHEAPLY MADE...MOSTLY PLASTIC..THE SKULLCANDY'S ARE ALL METAL WITH MORE COMFORT FITTING EARPADS AND SOUND WAY BETTER AND PLAY MUCH LOUDER THAN THE M40X'S....SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS IF YOU LIKE FLAT BORING SOUND AND LIKE LOOKING LIKE A HUMAN CELL TOWER, WEARING CHEAP PLASTIC HEADPHONES...GO FOR IT !
