Does the Fitbit Alta count steps when u use a tread climber or treadmill ? Or does it only act as a GPS which means you have to be going somewhere for it to count steps accurately?
Yes it tracks very accurately on all machines, treadmill, elliptical, stair climber, etc....

How often do you have to charge the Alta? (I have a flex now)
Probably about every 6 days. I have a routine that I automatically charge it when I shower, but it doesn't need it often.
