Great tripod for all shooting needs

This tripod is used primarily for school/professional purposes, rather than just a hobby. It would be great for either use though. The pivoting head is really nice, particularly when doing macro work. The ability to raise and lower the pole the head sits on is really useful as well. I haven't yet shot in an area where I needed to use the spikes on the feet, so I can't say how well they work, but I imagine they work pretty well. Excellent tripod, particularly if you can catch it on sale like I did! I use a Nikon D3100 and it feels very secure. The only thing is I wish it came with a carrying case for easier transportation, rather than having to put it in the box all the time.
