If I had any issues, there were installation instructions, video links and so-on immediately available.

I was on the fence for quite a while deciding whether or not to go forward with this purchase. Watching YouTube reviews and unboxings, reading reviews and related. I trusted the brand based off previous models, though the price tag is still up there compared to what you can get for the same amount of money, though not a vacuum 'bot'.
Over-all I'm 100% happy that I finally made the decision to spend the money and get the 980. It's worked better than expected on all flooring in my home from wood, tile, low pile and much higher pile carpeting.
That said; there are many other models out there by iRobot/Roomba that have come down in price quite a bit, as well as vacuum 'bots' made by other companies.
Because I've not owned any of them I can't give an honest or accurate comparison. I chose to stick with the market leader vs. saving a few bucks and not getting what I expected out of the product, though YMMV if you've previously owned another, whether by iRobot/Roomba or otherwise.
In the end, I'm complete satisfied with the purchase and would not hesitate to recommend or purchase one again in the future.
