I can’t say enough good things about this TV. OLED is out of my budget, so this is the next best thing. Lack of Dolby Vision honestly isn’t that big of a deal when I compare it to my other Dolby Vision enabled TV. However, it is a shame that Sony excluded this TV from the Dolby Vision update. I honestly can’t stand the Android OS, but that won’t hinder me from buying this TV. Picture quality is top notch, black levels are good (TCL 65R615/617 is better) and the brightness is more than adaquate. $1500 may be a bit much for this set, $696 for an open box is a steal especially considering that the 2018 replacement is much of an improvement over this.

Best bang for your buck. The picture is great. HDR is not as bright as I’d like, but it’s more than acceptable. Black levels are great as well, nowhere near OLED, but that’s not expected either. Built in Roku is an added perk even though some would disagree. I highly recommend this TV.

The black levels on this TV are awesome and just a step below OLED. The colors are vibrant and the Roku OS is great. The only downside to this TV is that it’s not as bright as the Sony X900E and in order to get to advanced color settings, you must go through the Roku app. No big deal to me. Do note that the Best Buy version (R615) of this set DOES NOT come with the voice/RF remote and has no headphone jack (who cares), it comes with the standard IR Roku remote, but does cost $50 less than the R617 version sold everywhere else.
Many people compare this TV to the Sony X900E which I also have and I must honestly say that for $500 cheaper, the TCL is the way to go. It won’t be as bright, but the black levels kick the pants off of the Sony X900E and the colors are comparable. The X900E has a lil more “pop” to it. The Roku OS is also so much more better than Sony’s Android OS.
Many people compare this TV to the Sony X900E which I also have and I must honestly say that for $500 cheaper, the TCL is the way to go. Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are two Miami cops who watch as 100 million dollars in heroin, from the biggest drug bust of their careers, is stolen out of the basement of police headquarters. This puts them hot on the trail of French drug lord Fouchet (Tchéky Karyo), who leaves a trail of bodies in his wake and only one witness, Julie Mott (Téa Leoni), who quickly teams up with our heroes. In the 2003 sequel, Burnett and Lowrey have been assigned to head up a task force to investigate the illegal trafficking of ecstasy into the city. They discover that an underground gang war has been instigated by drug kingpin Johnny Tapia (Jordi Molla). In order to cut off the flow of the designer drug, they have to take down Tapia.

My new XBR65X900E is updated to latest soft. Its hooked up to my Onkyo TX-NR676 receiver. Randomly, the TV shuts off and the white power light goes off accordingly. The Tv had the latest soft and I have done a factory re-set with no success. Help Sony!!!
