OK computer, especially for the price

My wife wanted a new laptop for Christmas. She is not a heavy user, mostly word documents and powerpoint and the like, so a really powerful computer was not necessary. When this came up for sale on Black Friday (bought online) I couldn't pass it up. It only comes with 4GB RAM and a slow processor but, again, this should have been fine for what she needed.
On Christmas day she opened the laptop, which was the first time I was able to see it also, and she fired it up. Took awhile to get through the initial setup and the forces OS update, over an hour I would say, and she was finally able to start using the laptop. I could tell she wasn't really that impressed. As you might expect, things are not super snappy or fast, but I didn't think they would be. What surprised me is that her 7 year old Thinkpad had a snappier feel.
I figured an easy way to rectify this would be to add additional memory and bump it to the max of 8GB. There is only one memory slot so I purchased one 8GB ram module, which only cost $40. I figured I would also just add an SSD while I was at it and, for less than $250, would have one heck of a laptop. The problem is that, for some reason, unlike every other laptop I have ever owned, Asus makes it incredibly difficult to swap out the ram and hard drive. There is no panel on the bottom to open. Instead it requires near a full disassembly of the laptop. By that I mean you have to remove the keyboard, carefully remove the top plastic panel and then start removing items from the inside, including the system board. For whatever reason the memory module is on the underside of the system board, which is why that needs to be removed.
So, long story short (too late? ;)) I have to say this laptop is just OK, at least based on the price I paid. Anything much more than that and I would suggest you look elsewhere. This MIGHT be OK for someone just wanting a basic laptop for basic websurfing and the like but do not expect too much from this. In the end we returned it and purchased something with a little more power and that we will be able to keep for awhile.

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas. I love Bose headphones and own multiple pairs. So, when my daughter wanted a pair of headphones I took a chance and purchased these for her. She had mentioned wanting Beats but when we listened to them at the store, I was not impressed. Now that Christmas is over and she has used them for a couple of days I can happily say that she also loves them! Plus the color is her favorite color. Very happy with this purchase as is my daughter.

Great soundbar for the money!

I purchased this soundbar during the black friday sale this year to along with the TV I was buying for my bedroom. This seemed perfect for the bedroom as I didn't want/need anything more than just better sound (no 5.1 necessary nor was a subwoofer). So, based on that simple requirement this seemed perfect. After having used it for about a month I still lover it. The sound is significantly better than the sound from the TV, much fuller and can get much louder.
I have this connected to the TV via a optical cable and that was a simple setup. Haven't tried the bluetooth functionality yet so I can't speak to that at all. For what I paid this is excellent, I haven't been unhappy for even a minute!

Great product but not exactly what I needed

Bought this for a trip overseas, Switzerland specifically. It turns out I did not need the converter option at all as most technology items can accept US and international power standard. No knock against this product, it did the job, was just overkill for what I needed.

This did exactly what I needed. Was travelling overseas and this gave me all the adapter options I needed in a small package. Most items should not need a power adapter just to go to a different country as most tech items can adapt. This was the case with my laptop.

I bought this case for my daughters iphone 6. The phone fits tightly and perfectly in the case. Everyone should be aware this does not come with a built in screen protector, it is still supposed to be watertight. I have the case with the screen and I actually prefer this one. It does come with a screen protector that sticks on to protect the screen. This is my second Lifeproof case and I would say, overall, they are worth the money for sure.

Switzerland
I know that Swiss plugs are different than the rest of Europe. Will it work in Switzerland?
Yes, there are multiple plug options with this. I used it myself in Switzerland a few months back and it worked perfectly.

does the insignia sound bar model ns-sb314 let the sound from netflex come through?
will the sound bar work with netflex and hulU?
Yes, at least the way I have it setup. I have the soundbar setup via optical to my Sony X850c TV and it allows sound to come through perfectly.
