It is a better machine than its predecessor. Lighter, thinner and a more sleek look. I had the 1 Tb drive replaced with a 960 Gb solid state drive an made the old drive into a slave drive. Now runs like a maniac even with processor intensive programs running.

The only problem was WiFi overload. Not due to the computer itself, but a household of five (5) people with 5 Kindles, 3 computers and 3 smart phones adding another laptop required a MUCH better router! So if you have any problems with this laptop, first check your bandwidth, and maybe upgrade to a much better router.

I have an old laptop which I transferred files from onto a new laptop. I did the data transfer through geek squad. My new laptop's hard drive had a catastrophic failure, are the files on my old laptop still accessible? Or does it get wiped during transfer

Wil it work with a seagate hard drive dell? Of not what do I need to retrieve fioes from a dead computer?
It's unlikely just putting a computer's hard drive into this box will solve your problem. Data retrieval is at best a tricky business. You might get away with doing this by designating your old drive as a secondary drive, and using a functioning computer to access it.

I am plugging this into my new Macbook pro and nothing is showing up. the drive has a blue light and I hear it running. why can't I see it on my computer. I want to transfer from an old laptop hard drive.
