Red/Pink Tint

Mine has a red/pink tint on the lower half of the screen. The top part of the display doesn't have tint. Software update would not fix this because the screen is not uniformly pink tinted. Disappointed. Now I need to see if BestBuy will accept the return. I'm on the second day with the device.

Attachments missing for the shelfs
on September 22, 2015

The stand itself appears sturdy and good, but how useful can it be when Bell'O folks forgot to put the attachments for the shelfs? How can i put my A/V components if i cannot assemble it? If you get my drift, i either rate excellent or i rate poor, and this stand gets poor because of the inconvenience with the shelfs. QA down the drain ... People do not pay attention to details anymore ...

We all know what are the problems with the Surface, i knew them in advance too but i thought i could manage it. I like the build quality, but the OS and apps started getting in the way. One example is Skype, there is no way how can i sign in without merging the Skype contacts with my outlook contacts; there is no sign out too. There is no sign out from Netflix too. There is no way of adding picture or video folder from SD card into the library without mounting the SD card into a folder on the c: drive. After card removal the new stuff doesn't show up in the photos app ...
I can't get used to the touch cover, the touch pad is not working 90% of the time.
This thing goes back.
What's great about it: Nothing sticks out, everything is average
What's not so great: Touch pad on the touch cover
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Windows 8 RT tablet
on December 5, 2012

I've been using tablets and phones with Android OS mainly so far. The reason for that is i like to write some apps for my self and family (like budgeting stuff, some custom organizers ...). I was waiting for Nexus 10 to be released when i read about Asus Vivo Tab RT, and i thought that i could give it a try if i dislike Nexus 10. So, naturally, i've bought the Nexus 10 on the launch day, received it, played with it and have returned it mainly because of hardware faults (Back-light bleed, and after factory restore the tablet died).
Here we are, with Vivo TAb RT in my hands. I admit that i was hesitant of the idea of buying a tablet with ~720p resolution, but after some time spent with it, i can say that it is good enough for me. I was looking for a tablet that i can use it as a reader (PDF's, word documents, ..., mainly work stuff), browse the internet in the evening, transfer files (using wifi - network sharing or SMB) and load my own apps on it. Android delivers all of that, but in my experience, i needed to do multiple returns in order to get something satisfactory. With Windows RT i can't write my own apps easily without developer account, so only that feature is missing with my current selection (Vivo Tab RT), but it compensates with superior build quality, light weight and minimal back-light bleed.
So, how Windows 8 RT and Tegra 3 play together? Well, before i've decided to pull the trigger, i was afraid that Tegra 3 would fail miserably in performance department, knowing the fact i'm going from the newest Exynos SoC (A15 based core) to Tegra 3 (A9 based core) device. To tell you the truth, i think it is good enough for me, but whatever is good for me it may not be good for somebody else. I'm terrible at multitasking, meaning that i rarely leave something working in background, and because of that (i think) even the slowest tablets in my hands work satisfactory, since i know how to tweak the system for maximum performance (the geek in me :)) and i do not load 5 apps and leave them suck all of the system's RAM. No Facebook, Tweeter, games or other CPU/Memory hungry apps on my tablets. I'll be using Office, Internet Explorer, Reader, Mail, Netflix and some banking stuff; that is it.
Anyway, i'm happy with my purchase.
What's great about it: Size, Display, Weight
What's not so great: Backlight bleed from the corners
I would recommend this to a friend!

I returned the phone and thanks to BestBuy that accepted it. Before I returned the phone I stopped by the all of the s8's and s8+ that were on display. All of them had pink tinted blotches ... That is why I got discouraged to exchange the phone for a different one.

Will this work on verizon

Yes, it will work, i have not tested it myself but i have found references on web where people state that their Olympic edition phones work on Verizon if your sim card is already activated on Verizon's network.. If it is not activated, then not sure if Verizon will let you activate a new service with this Olympic edition.

Can I purchase Samsung Gallaxy Olympic through Best Buy and get a contract through ATT?

This is unlocked device and it can work with all carriers in USA. You purchase the phone and then you purchase a service if you do not have one. I'm using it with ATT and all i did was swap the sim card. I get LTE but i do not get VolTE or WiFi calling. VoLTE and WiFi works only with ATT branded phones for their service. I think T-Mobile doesn't require T-Mobile branded device to get on their WiFi calling or their VoLTE. Not sure about Verizon or Sprint.
