Too many animated films are dumbed down and recycle tired plots and don't try to do anything different. Pirates is not like that at all. It has great animation and wonderful voice acting, but that alone doesn't make a great movie. The plot/story is engaging and, like the Incredibles, it works on many levels. Young kids to adults can enjoy this film.

Stretching the Hobbit into three films initially sounded ludicrous being that the average person could read the book in a few hours. Peter Jackson did an excellent job of including elements from Tolkien's world to flesh out the film without making anything feel like it was crammed in just to add time. The lighter air of the story is evident versus the more serious tone of the Lord of the Rings which may be what makes the three hour movie not seem like three hours at all. I can the film repeatedly without tiring of it. The Blu-Ray looks incredible and the 3D version makes wearing the glasses worth it. Seeing a troll's teeth fly out of your TV at you is amazing.

The Avengers movie alone is enough reason to purchase this set, but all of the extras as well as the packaging make it even better. I wanted to buy the 3D version of the film, which runs about $35, but Best Buy had this set on sale for $20 and it includes a $30 gift card. An incredible deal for an incredible gift set.

This movie has elements of comedy, horror, drama, being a period-piece...it has a touch of everything. River Phoenix is excellent in it. In my opinion, the best movies based on Stephen King books stray heavily from the source material and that's the case here.

I loved Martin Freeman in the Office and since then will watch practically anything he's in. This series (much like the Office) is far superior to the American remakes. Great set design and lighting really add to the atmosphere of the stories.

Oddly, Best Buy's system won't let me put the movie's title in my review, but nevertheless, KA reminds me a lot of Ghost World. Both started off as comics/graphic novels by great writers (Clowes/Millar) and were made into movies that, while they strayed from the overall plot, were true to the sense and spirit of the source material.
What's great about it: Practically everything
What's not so great: It's ends eventually
