Quality control problems

This model is sold needing an electric cord (who doesn't install an electric cord these days?!) and in addition Hotpoint are too cheap to install an oven window or a drawer (but yet the picture looks as if there were a drawer). The Hotpoint ranges I have had tend to have problems; two of them had wonky thermostats and were 100 degrees OFF of the temperature you set, one of them the burners fell out all the time and the oven door wasn't "sealed" correctly so that hot air came up through the gap while the oven was on, hot enough that you had to use oven mitts to touch the burner controls even briefly. They are nice when they work, but you never know if you are going to get a model that works.
What's great about it: looks nice/dials in front so don't risk burning arms/would be worth it if you could be guaranteed that most units worked
What's not so great: Has no drawer despite appearance, uneven heat in oven and inconsistent performance in burners
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Connect this DVD-ROM/CD-ROM drive to watch DVD movies, listen to music on CDs or access data stored on compatible media. The slim form factor measures just 0.8" thin for easy portability, and the drive's top-loading design makes it easy to swap discs.

55$ and it can't even write discs?!

Seems like some computer technology is moving backwards. This is certainly a case in point. Other vendors have shown it is easily possible to make an external writeable usb dvd drive for around 50$. But Asus chooses to make a disc drive that only reads discs. Furthermore, it is a top-loader; and top-loaders have an unfortunate history of going bad (the dreaded "cannot read disc" error when there is a perfectly good disc enclosed). I recommend you pass on this and spend your money on a real drive!
What's great about it: It looks okay
What's not so great: Doesn't write discs, costs too much, top-loading
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
