hey Google, you’re the coolest!

Out of every tech gadget that google has released this year, the google home hub is honestly the coolest of the bunch. Possibly the coolest piece of tech in 2018. If you love and use every google service available, it is a must buy, I will definitely be buying another for the house. It makes the google assistant experience so much better. Being able to control your home is even easier with this. It integrates and works with all your existing google home products. There is so many things it can do, too many to list. As a matter of fact there isn’t one thing I haven’t been able to do with it. It plays YouTube videos, YouTube and google music, it streams movies from my play library , it will push media to your chromecast connected tv. It does it all, for such a great price. My favorite feature is using it as a digital photo frame. I have thousands of photos on my google photos library. Being able to see photos that I’d forgotten about and have them cycle through all day is so cool. I can’t say enough about the google home hub, it is jam packed with features and the possibilities are literally endless. I am sure google will continue to add more support and features. As far as build quality, it is very good. The speaker in it is loud and sounds good for its size. It has a propiatery power cable and needs to stay plugged in at all times, it would be even cooler if it had a battery so that it could be more portable, But it boots up quick enough that disconnecting it and moving it to the kitchen or living room or wherever you need it is not a big deal. The display seems low res, 720p at best but it looks great. Videos, movies, information all looks great. This will make a great Christmas gift for anyone of any age. It is so cool!

A Music Lovers Perspective
on October 25, 2018

So I want to begin by saying that I consider myself a musician. I play guitar, I've owned a marshall amp in the past. I love music, and listen to music for at least two hours a day. The Marshall Stanmore II looks and feels like a Marshall Guitar Amp, So this will be great for Marshall Amp lovers who want to accent their living room or bedroom with the Marshall brand and design for their music and AI assistant purposes. The materials used in the build for this speaker feel every bit like the materials used in Marshall amps, even down to the buttons and control knobs. I love that part of it. It would be so awesome if I could plug my guitar into this thing and use it as a practice amp. No can do.
The amp has a good number of connection options, you can plug in RCA cables, an aux cable, or stream wirelessly with Bluetooth or Wifi. You do need to download the Marshall Voice app on your phone to connect the speaker to your wireless network. Having the speaker always connected to Wifi allows it to use Alexa with your amazon account. If your a fan and user of amazon and alexa this is a great option for you. It has all the same functionality of Alexa found in Amazons echo and fire products. I do not like that there is no On/Off button or switch on this speaker. I assume it is because it is meant to be left on and connected to Wifi at all times so that you can use the Alexa voice assistant. Its not a huge deal, but for times when you aren't going to be home for an extended time, it would be great to be able to turn it off without having to unplug it. I only give this amp 4 stars and it is hard to recommend it to a friend because the sound quality is only just "good enough" but not great, especially for the asking price. That being said.. it's not bad, the sound and eq is fairly balanced. At low volumes, the speaker sounds fine. Overall tones are clean and balanced, bass is present without being too punchy or distorted. The issue is when you get to 7 and above on the volume knob. To my ears, the sound becomes a little harsh on the high end, Treble is harsh and the bass doesn't become any deeper. Everything just gets louder. The EQ knobs on the panel honestly do not do much to control the EQ. Bass sounds the same at 5 and 10. Same thing for the treble knob. Highs and Treble sound the same at 5 and 10. You're honestly better off using a software EQ within your music streaming app of choice. Maybe they can fix this with a firmware update through the Marshall Amp. Out of the box, the bass and treble controls are useless. The look, design, and Marshall name call for this speaker to be played at high volumes to entertain your guests at a party. I just can't recommend this speaker for that purpose. It doesn't sound great at its highest volumes. This is a niche speaker for loyal Marshall Amp lovers and owners. Alexa is great on here, but Alexa is great on every other speaker that has it. If you are expecting amazing sound quality or a party speaker, look elsewhere.
Pros - Beautiful Elegant Classic Marshall Design
- Alexa
-Many connection options
- Balanced clean sound at lower volumes
Cons- No ON / OFF Switch
- EQ control knobs are pretty useless
- Not Portable ( needs to stay plugged into the wall at all times)

This TV is Smart!
on October 4, 2018

Nowadays many TV's in this price range are called "Smart" when in reality all they do is provide Wifi and a handful of apps so that you can stream online content. I'd call them connected Tv's. This Insignia Smart TV with HDR and Fire TV is the definition of Smart TV. It comes preinstalled with a lot of useful apps and there is a plethora of apps you can download and add to your TV. I say that this TV is Smart because of Alexa and Fire TV. You can control your TV by speaking into the microphone on the control. You can use it to search for content online, to switch between your HDMI ports, or to an installed application. There was only a couple of things Alexa couldn't do on the tv when prompted. I imagine that this TV will get updates with Fire TV to add even more possibilities. It really is pretty awesome to be able to control your TV using only your voice. No need to type out phrases using only a directional pad. Alexa and Fire TV are also quite snappy. The UI loads quickly between apps and inputs. Also the voice commands are heard accurately and only studder when you give it a command that it isnt programmed to do. I am very impressed with the function. Honestly, it is the quickest, smartest TV interface I have ever used.
Picture quality on the TV is great. 4k content streams smoothly and looks great at this price point. It also has pretty good viewing angles and I did not notice any light bleed on my unit. Blacks are nice and contrasty and colors are crisp and punchy. It does have a game mode which i tested with a Playstation 4. I can't find the specs for it anywhere, but I did not notice much input lag, if it is present it is minimal. I was able to play shooters and fighting games just fine. I'd recommend this TV to anyone looking for a smart TV that is 4k and HDR capable. I'd especially recommend this television if you are an Amazon customer and a Fan of Alexa and Fire TV.
I honestly only found two things that I did not like about this TV.
One being that the provided power cord is very short. My TV is only about 3 feet off the ground and the cord did not reach the power strip I have on the floor. I had to set my power strip ontop of my entertainment center so that the cable can reach it.
The other problem I have with the tv is that you have to go to the home screen, then select which input you want to adjust when adjusting picture profiles. Thankfully its not a setting you have to constantly adjust but it could be implemented better. That's it. There isn't much to complain about on this television. Go out and Get it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Awesome Rugged Outdoor Speaker
on September 18, 2018
Posted by: Ponskippa

This is the first rugged water resistant speaker i've ever actually had the guts to fully submerge in water. The box doesn't state how deep you can take it, but it does say that it can be submerged for up to 30 minutes. I let it take a plunge in about 3 feet of water and it floats! The sound is affected by the water obviously, it becomes muddy and the volume lowers when in water but most importantly it survived the dive and works fine after getting soaked. I wouldn't recommend charging it until it completely dries out just to be safe. The audio quality of the speaker is about as good as it gets for something small and portable. I really am amazed at how loud it gets and is water proof. It is kind of cool to watch the water literally shoot out of the speaker grill lol. Out of the box, I find that it doesn't have deep bass but if you connect it to the UE app on your phone or tablet, you can use different presets to get more bass and tweak the mids and treble. The app also helps you pair the speaker with other UE speakers and even lets your friends control the music with it. The app does have some pretty cool features. With some tweaking the speaker sounds pretty good even at high volumes. My only complaint with the speaker is that there seems to be a "dead zone" on the speaker. The whole can isn't one large speaker, It does seem to have a "360" sound but id say that only about 75-80% of the whole can projects audio. the bottom portion of the speaker does not produce sound. I assume its because the speaker is meant to be stood upright so in most situations you will not notice it. I only noticed it because i picked it up to put it on a stand that was above shoulder height. All in All, this is one of my favorite speakers I've used and I can recommend this to someone who likes to have a speaker while doing anything outdoors. Whether it be on your bike, while camping, swimming, or chilling at the beach. It is super rugged and I think will be able to tag along with you at just about any outdoor activity

Too many issues
on September 16, 2018
Posted by: Ponskippa
from San Antonio, TX
Ahh.. with a name like Epic Air True Wireless, I was expecting an Epic experience with these. Five minutes out of the box i had issues with them. First and foremost, the touch controls are way too sensitive. Simply adjusting the earbuds in my ears will trigger the touch controls and change the volume. I don't see a need for a touch sensitive volume control when you can adjust the volume with your device which leads me to the second issue I had with these earbuds. Adjusting the volume with my phone has a significant delay, when adjusting the volume with physical buttons on my phone it literally took a good 10 - 15 seconds for the change to take effect on the earbuds. Maybe it can be fixed with a firmware update, but it is awful and unacceptable. The 3rd issue I had with these earbuds, and it could just be my ears, but out of the 7 pairs of tips they provide for them, only 1 set fit my ears snugly enough to seal and isolate sound. All the rest fit way too loose. Sound is mediocre at best, there is almost no Bass, treble and mids are balanced and sound ok, but the lack of bass is disturbing and makes most music sound lifeless. The best things these earbuds have going are that they are wireless and the battery life is pretty good. The hooks are comfortable enough to wear for extended periods / while working out. I did like that the charging cable can be stowed with the charging case. Honestly though, I would take a pair of good sound wired earbuds over these. The finicky and sensitive touch controls are inconvenient and they frankly don't sound all that great. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone who expects great sounding earbuds at this price point.
Pros - Wireless
Battery life , easy convenient charging
Cons -Mediocre sound Quality
Touch Controls aren't great
Noticeable Lag when adjusting volume
Poor seal / sound isolation with included rubber tips

Quite Possibly, The Best Headphones Available
on September 13, 2018
Posted by: Ponskippa
from San Antonio, TX
I'm going to start this review by outright calling these headphones, THE BEST. I honestly can't help but smile when listening to music with these headphones. I am hearing sounds in songs that I have NEVER heard before lol. Even in songs that i've listened to and sang along to countless times. They really are amazing. Every instrument, every sound effect, every whisper, every lyric, every beat just sounds so clear, and vibrant, and the BASS , it BUMPS just the right amount. I've listened to almost every genre with these on, country, hip hop, metal, mexican folk songs, classical, podcast interviews. you name it. These headphones are tuned so well and honestly sound great no matter what you listen to on them. I initially downloaded and loaded up the Sony Connect app on my devices thinking I would need to tweak the EQ to my liking. I played around with the different presets and the EQ manually and frankly these headphones sound great out of the box and don't really need much tweaking. Sony makes a hand full of presets available, mostly "effects" that give a surround / you're at a concert hall or club effect. I honestly don't care much for them, they're alright but you probably won't use them much. The app does have a function that will determine what activity you are doing based on location and adjust noise cancelling accordingly. I find the active noise cancelling to be perfect out of the box also. I have a window A/C unit in my bedroom that is always humming and interfering with my listening experience. These headphones completely block it out. It's awesome. I have not had the opportunity to test these on a flight yet, But I will definitely bring them along with me. The app also has a feature that adjusts your headphones settings according to atmospheric pressure. I can't wait to test the feature. If you're still reading, let me tell you a little about the the physical aspects of these headphones. Build quality is top notch, the band feels strong and is very comfortable. There are no plastic creaks when you stretch or fold them. The earcups are very soft and comfortable. I've worn them for hours on end without any sort of fatigue. My ears never started hurting or became uncomfortable. They are a little on the warm side, I would imagine they might make you sweat a little if you use them in a warm room / climate. Battery life is fantastic, I haven't had to charge them in 3 days. My phone says they are at 55% battery life, I would guess I've used them for at least 8 hours in the last 3 days. Sony provides a very nice carry case for them, also an aux cable, a very short usb c cable to charge them and an airplane headphone adapter. The swipe gesture controls on the right ear cup are a little too sensitive, i've triggered them by stretching my arms upward or leaning my head against my arm while laying in bed listening. They are welcomed though, it is very intuitive and easier than finding a button to press. On the left cup you have your power on / off button and anc button which also doubles as the google assistant button. Also a very convenient function, I use the google assistant daily and having this feature is a bonus for these already awesome headphones. Another great feature is If you cover the right ear cup with your palm, it lowers the volume and allows sound to come in so that you can hear whats going on around you or if someone is talking to you.You don't have to pause what you're doing or take off your headphones. If you are looking for a great set of noise cancelling headphones, look no further, Buy These , You won't regret it. They are amazing!
Pros - Great Build Quality
AMAZING SOUND and Noise Cancellation
Long Battery life / they charge in under 2 hours with USB - C
Very Comfortable
Did I mention they sound incredible?
Cons - The Sony Connect App could use a little polishing. But honestly, the headphones are great without the app.

Awesome speaker with one caveat
on September 7, 2018
Posted by: Ponskippa

So.. I'm sitting here still listening to some chill ambient mood music on the LG PK5 as i write this review. I really want to love the speaker, its great, it looks cool, the blinking color changing lights provide a cool atmosphere and they react to the beat of the music.
Things I love about this speaker, It is LOUD. 20 Watts i believe. It gets really loud for its size. It has a USB - C charging port, a 3.5 mm input. This speaker can pair along with another LG PK speaker ( i did not get to try this function.) The blinking color changing lights are cool for setting the mood. I love the design and handles on the speaker. It feels very rugged and should be able to hangout with you outdoors while you party or grill. I did use it outdoors in light rain with no problems. Battery life is amazing, I'm at 80% battery after about 3 hours of use today at medium volume. If it holds steady I should get between 12~15 hours of use before charging.
The thing that bugs me about this speaker is the sound out of the box. To my ears, it sounds too Trebly, especially at high volumes. I listened to a variety of music with the clear vocal and enhanced bass off and on. I do prefer them both on at all times. With them off the music just sounds flat and muddy to me. When you turn them on it greatly enhances the sound. , But if you go above 60% volume it begins to sound trebly. For most people, it will probably sound great. But if you're an audiophile, you might be turned off by it. Fortunately there is an easy fix. The apps I use to stream music allow me to tweak the equalizer. The Speaker does sound great after tweaking the EQ to your liking. Bass is deep yet clean with no distortion. Mids and Highs are clear with no annoying hiss. Speakers generally have a "break in" period, so Im hoping that these will get better as time goes on. I think this speaker provides great value for your money. It is rugged, battery life is fantastic, and it gets very loud.
Pros- Rugged Tough Build
Color Changing Beat Reactive Lights
USB - C charging port
LOUD
Cons - USB - C cable provided, but no charging brick
Needs equalizer tuning in your app of choice to get great sound

Great sound, very comfortable

The Rig 500 Pro headset for PlayStation 4 is a pretty good sounding gaming headset. I’ve had the pleasure of gaming with them for a the past couple of days and I have to say that they sound pretty good. When connected to my PS4 controller through 3.5mm jack they don’t get extremely loud (a good thing) and the sound is pretty balanced overall. The highs and mids aren’t too tinny and the bass is perfect. They don’t exactly thump but the bass is noticeable. You’ll feel Explosions, and rumbles against your ears and head. When playing shooters, the stereo sound is immersive and you can hear and distinguish where footsteps and bullets are being fired from. I think this headset is one of the better sounding headsets I’ve used in recent times. Build quality is above average for this price range and the materials used feel premium. I like that the ear cups are removeable and adjustable. The strap on the headband is comfortable and accommodates just about any skull size. The ear cup padding is excellent and comfortable. I played 5 hours straight and my ears did not get hot or tired. They are great for marathon gaming sessions. My only complaint about this headset is that I have been unable to use them with anything other than my
PlayStation 4. The 3.5mm jack will not plug into any of the other devices I’ve tried. The curved volume knob makes it difficult to plug it into a anything other than the PlayStation controller. I know these are dedicated gaming headphones but it’s alwags nice to use headphones for media / music consumption. I do love being able to adjust the volume with the flick of my thumb, Also it’s great being able to mute the mic by flipping it upward.my friend all said that my voice sounded loud and clear with the microphone included. All in all, I’d recommend this headset if you’re looking for an affordable pair of great sounding gaming headphones.

Makes Movie Night Exciting!
on July 29, 2018

I've honestly and quite literally have had a BLAST watching movies and playing video games with this Sony sound system. I unboxed it and had it hooked up to my 75 inch Sony Bravia 4K TV in about 5 minutes. Sony provides you with a quick start guide to walk you through it, and an HDMI cable to get you up and running. Ill start with the cons about this sound system. I've only have 2 gripes with it, Firstly - the soundbar has no digital display on it to show you most of the settings. It is hard to tell if you have toggled on or toggled off a profile or the vertical surround. There is small led lights that will blink accordingly to different button presses. I wish it had a small screen to show you what volume you're at, what sound profile you have active, etc etc.I have to mention though, whichever HDMI input you have connected your soundbar to will show an onscreen menu to assist you and show you menu scrolls and adjustments. I wish it would show it on every HDMI input though. My second gripe with this soundbar is that when watching TV through the set top cable box, there is a noticeable lag between the picture and audio. It seems to happen on channels that aren't quite full HD, and of lower quality / resolution. The controller does give you the option of adjusting the sound up or down in millisecond increments so that you can try and get the audio/video more in sync but going back to the lack of the screen on the soundbar.. it is hard to tell if you've adjusted up or down and by how much. I gave up trying to perfect it. I left it a little off. On some channels, i'll see the mouths move or an explosion and ill hear the sound a split second later. It can be annoying sometimes. I think it has to do with the fact that the soundbar is connected through an HDMI cable. You do have the option of using an optical audio cable or bluetooth connection but if you want to take advantage of the Dolby Atmos surround sound, the soundbar MUST be connected with the HDMI cable. The soundbar only has 1 HDMI in and 1 HDMI out port. It would also be nice if it had at least 1 other HDMI out port. I connected it to an XBOX ONE and this is where the soundbar has shined. I spent the whole day watching movies that support Dolby Atmos, I was excited to sit there and watch movies all day. There is a noticeable boost in sound quality and volume when you are using Atmos. You feel the explosions, you hear the dirt falling to the ground, when the screen shakes, you feel it. It is an immersive experience, and I love it! It really is like being at the movie theater. Ive never been a big fan of "virtual surround sound" but Sony pulls it off with this sound system. You can hear and literally feel the difference when you activate the vertical surround sound. Every sound comes in nice and clear. Voices do not get over powered by explosions or music, and the lows / bass do not distort or drown out everything else even when the subwoofer is at its max volume. I'm a big movie buff and i frequently attend movies for the experience and this sound bar most definitely brings the experience to the comfort of your own living room.

Sleek, Modern, Powerful

In this day and age of tablets, phablets, and laptops that get smaller and thinner year over year. This beautiful Dell Inspiron All in One desktop is a very welcome step back into the golden days of desktop computers. The design is amazing and looks great on your desk in the office or bedroom. Build quality is great, this all in one feels like its built like a tank without weighing like it. Setting it up is very easy, you screw on the base to the built in stand and plug in the power cable. That's it, you're all set to go. Although not as practical as a laptop you could move this workstation to any room in your home or office with ease. The included wireless keyboard is very tactile and the keys are spaced perfectly. The mouse in my opinion does feel a little cheap, the battery cover which doubles as the left and right click buttons pops off very easily and feels like it' wont be able to take a year worth of clicks. Not that big a deal, as you are able to plug in your choice of keyboard and mouse to this machine. There is more USB ports on this thing on the backside than you'll ever need. There is 2 hdmi ports on the backside also, one of which you could probably use to add a second monitor and extend your work area. On the bottom left corner there is a USB 3.0 Port, USB Type C Port, SD Card Slot and a headphone jack. There is only two buttons on this monitor, a Power button, and a small hidden button on the bottom that switches to the hdmi input. Volume, Brightness, Etc is all changed with the keyboard or menu on your computer. There is no "color profiles" on this monitor, at least I've yet to find them but the display is calibrated perfectly in my opinion. Games, Movies, Photos, Videos all look great on it. The colors are vivid without making whites look yellow or saturated. Text is sharp and crisp. The i7 processor and 12gb of Ram paired with the beautiful responsive touch screen make this a perfect computer for editing photos and videos. It is also powerful enough to handle some light gaming. It wont play the latest games because this model only comes with integrated graphics but it will run many of the games available in the microsoft store. I did install some my favorite older "AAA" games and they run fine just don't expect the newest and greatest games on here.
I want to point out that the built in speakers on this computer are amazing. They are loud, and pack a punch. Streaming movies, videos and music on here with the included speakers is pleasing to my ears. This is a great all around computer, and it has reinvigorated my love for editing photos and videos , gaming, and consuming media at my desk.
Pros - Beautiful Modern Design
Great Color Calibration
Loud and ample built in speakers
Powerful i7 processor with plenty of Ram
Cons - Included mouse feels cheap

Produce clear pictures and sound with this Miroir Full HD pico projector. The 7000 mAh lithium-polymer battery offers up to 2 hours of viewing time, while the pair of 2W speakers deliver high-quality sound for an all-around multimedia experience. This Miroir Full HD pico projector has HDMI and USB Type-C ports for secure connection to a variety of input devices.

What speakers go well with this??

If you want to keep things "portable" I would recommend using any portable speaker with an AUX input. most bluetooth speakers come with an AUX input. Get a 3.5mm aux cable and plug it into your speaker of choice!

Revel in immersive audio with this retro-style Ion Boombox Deluxe portable stereo. Dual full-range speakers deliver impressive sound reproduction, while Bluetooth technology, USB playback, an AM FM radio and a built-in cassette player offer vast entertainment options. This Ion Boombox Deluxe portable stereo comes with a long-lasting rechargeable battery for convenience.

Can you record on cassette tapes when playing from Bluetooth.

yes, But i believe it records with the built in microphone. So don't expect the best sound quality and it might pick up ambient sounds in the room during the recording.

Experience immersive Dolby Atmos sound through a single device with this Sony sound bar. It connects to your TV wirelessly or with an HDMI cable, and it pairs with Bluetooth devices for audio streaming. This Sony sound bar includes the Vertical Sound Engine, which eliminates the need for ceiling-mounted speakers.

I have this soundbar connected to the Sony 75 X850E TV using the HDMI ARC connection. There is a slight audio lag using the soundbar (occurs with HDMI or optical). The delay is small but definitely there, so this causes lip sync issues. Any suggestions?

you can try to adjust it by pressing the option button, then TV or HDMI (according to whichever you are experiencing lag) then press the up or down button press the center button to adjust. It can be difficult to get it perfect. I've tried myself and I just got it as close as I could

I recently purchased the HT-X9000F along with a 2018 TCL Series 6 TV. While it sounds great, is there any way to have its menu appear on my TCL 6 series? It's hard to know which mode I'm in or cycle through the settings without having them show up.

You have to connect the soundbar with an HDMI cable for the menu to appear on screen on your input of choice. If you have it connected with an optical cable it won't work. Also, you need to have it connected with HDMI as it is the only way to enable dolby atoms on supported titles.

I've got my Soundbar hooked up to my TCL 6 Series via HDMI to HDMI ARC, however, when I press the "Home" button on my Sony remote. It just mutes the sound and no menu comes up. Please help! Thanks.

maybe try resetting the sound bar? the manual shows you how to reset the system.
