I want to love it but..

Le Sigh... where to begin. So I really want to love the Pixel Slate Keyboard. It is sleek, has a handsome modern design. I love the Midnight blue color and the round backlit keys are well designed. It's not a crazy change from a regular keyboard and it has all the keys you need. The keys are very responsive and tactile and have very good travel. I could type on it all day. The major issue with it is that the hinge that connects it to the pixel slate is very ummm flappy. it has virtually no support and with the magnet back that stretches past your knees. It ends up feeling really awkward to type with on your lap. It really is best used on a table or desk. I suppose it is fine for most people who are going to sit at a desk or coffee table and type away. But i prefer to have my "laptop" on my lap when working. The other issue with it is that the material on the outer cover gets stained and scratched quite easily. Mine already has a small stain from the sweat off a drink and it has two small scratches from putting it in and out of my backpack. Lastly when you close the whole folio, the magnetic back doesnt stay put. The tablet will slide off with a little force when it is closed. Sadly this is probably your only option for having a keyboard for the pixel slate, and I think Google could have designed something much better than this. I do love the magnetic pin connection and the fact that there is no need to charge it. But it does not make for a great laptop / chromebook replacement.

Comfortable and super responsive

I've had the pleasure of gaming with the Logitech Hero G703 wireless gaming mouse all night and I can say that the mouse is comfortable and insanely responsive. I have fairly large hands and the mouse sits comfortably in the palm of my hand. Every button on it is springy, clicky and responsive. The scroll wheel has good resistance and the push down button feels good. The mouse is quite grippy and I have not had any sweaty palm problems yet lol. The logitech G Hub software allows you to customize the RGB lighting to your liking. The RGB lighting also reacts to games and audio, pretty cool! You can download custom profiles with G Hub. Logitech says the rechargeable battery will last upto 35 hours with RGB lighting on and upto 60 hours with the lights off. They provide a high quality charging micro usb cable so you can charge and play when its time to refill the battery. Also included is a 10 gram weight that can be put in the mouse to add greater weight/resistance. It fits under a magnetic cover that is easy to remove and install. It's a nice touch if you prefer a heavier mouse. The mouse has a button just under the scroll wheel that allows you to change the mouse DPI with a click. So you can toggle it and make the cursor faster or slower as you see fit. i recommend this mouse for gamers who want a highly responsive gaming mouse for shooters and mmorps. This particular model doesn't have alot of buttons for custom bindings but for me they are enough. It is fast and the battery can go days before needing to be charged. The RGB lighting is a nice added touch to make your setup glow with cool lighting!

Fantastic gaming laptop, I love this machine!

The Acer Nitro 5 is an amazing value. If you are budget minded but want a gaming laptop, this laptop is an excellent option. I've read a couple of reviews jabbing the Nvidia GTX 1650 gpu saying it is a very small increase in performance when compared to the previous generation. What many fail to recognize is the decrease in power consumption , making for better mobile performance. The GTX 1650 paired with the intel i5 processor is a very good combination for mobile gaming. I'm averaging 3 to 4 hours of battery life while gaming. I would recommend always plugging the laptop in while gaming so that the computer can run in high performance mode and you'll get noticeably better frame rates and graphics quality while gaming. Acer has some pretty smart battery / power optimizing software installed in this laptop and it has performed well in my testing. It runs quiet and stays fairly cool, even when playing the latest Resident Evil 2 in full 1080P at 60 fps. This laptop can handle most recent titles at full 1080P 60fps. I tested Resident Evil 2, Battlefield V, Star Wars battlefront 2, Super Mega Baseball 2 and they all run flawlessly at 1080p. I let the nvidia geforce experience app auto optimize the games and then I go in and tweak it to my liking to maintain a steady and stable 60 frames per second.
the 17.3 inch BEZELESS IPS panel is pretty awesome. Colors are vivid, contrast is great and viewing angles are excellent. Games look great on the screen, and its large enough to sit back comfortably on your couch or desk with an xbox controller connected.
The included SSD is lightning fast and windows boots up almost instantly. The machine is up and I'm loaded up in Resident Evil 2 within a minute. Literally! AWESOME!
Acer makes it super easy to upgrade your storage and include the screws you need to add a second m.2 ssd and they also provide the cable necessary to mount an additional 2.5 inch HDD or SDD for even more game storage. The laptop has a single 8gb stick of Ram, allowing you to upgrade to 12 or 16gb of ram if you would like. I find that the 8gb of ram is sufficient for most titles I own on Steam.
The laptop has a very good cooling system and design. It runs fairly quiet considering and has not gotten extremely hot on me yet.
The on board speakers sound surprisingly good and get loud enough for me. Although I usually prefer to game with a headset on for the immersive experience. But I can honestly say that the speakers are good enough for use on the fly / go.
They keyboard is also very well built, the red back light is very cool touch. They keys are well spaced and have great travel. I have large hands and it is comfortable and very nice to game / type on.
The touch pad isn't very great for mobile gaming, obviously you should always bring a mouse with you for easier and more accurate mouse cursor control! I prefer to plug in a wired Xbox One controller for the games that support it. For those of you that are curious, the laptop does have 3 USB ports, 2 which are USB 3.0 and also a USB C port. it also has a fullsize hdmi port and headphone jack.
I give the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop a well deserved 5 out of 5 stars!
Pros; Big, vibrant, and bright IPS panel with almost no Bezels.
Powerful enough to run many titles at 1080p 60fps
Easy to upgrade storage and ram
Comfortable / Tactile backlit keyboard
Runs quiet and cool
Cons; The huge screen is a little heavy. Take care when adjusting it. I almost had it fall backward on me once.

Great Dashcam, App needs bug fixes
on June 27, 2019
Posted by: Ponskippa
from San Antonio, TX
I think this dash cam has the potential to be excellent, as soon as the developers get the app working correctly. I could not get the app to do many of the functions it is supposed to. The app keeps telling me to update the firmware on the dashcam, it creates the wifi connection and starts uploading the firmware to it but it never completes. I was also not able to transfer any of the recorded footage to my iPhone with the app. I think the app needs fixing. The app looks great though and has many exciting features including an SOS option in the even of an accident or emergency. I think once the developers get all those bugs fixed, it will make the dashcam perfect. If you've made it this far and are still with me, let me tell you the great things about this dash cam.
1. It comes with two mounting options. You can either use the provided double sided sticky tape to mount the base to you car's dash, or you can use the suction cup mount to stick it to your windshield. I opted to use the suction cup mount. It is strong and keeps the dash cam steady. There was no need to moisten the suction cup, so theres no left over residue when you remove it. The dash cam has a really neat magnetic mounting system on it that allows you to remove the camera without removing the base from your dash or windshield. It's quite brilliant as it also acts as the cameras power source. You are provided with a long power cable that plugs into your vehicles 12v power outlet. It automatically powers on and starts recording when you turn your vehicle on. It records in 1 minute intervals making it easy to scroll through your saved clips for browsing later. The dash cam also has a button that allows you to manually save a clip if you want to save it at a certain point. The coolest thing about this dash cam is that it has a built in gps and spedometer. Your gps coordinates and speed are logged and recorded on the dash cam footage, along with the time and date. It is a great feature to have since it will assist you in making your case in any event. Video quality is very good and usable. It has a 140* field of view. I find its wide enough to cover all 4 lanes on our Texas highways. Night time video quality is also good, although don't expect it to act like a night vision camera on totally dark roads. Roads that are well lit look good in the footage. I recommend using at least a 64gb micro sd card. Go for 128gb if you plan on going on long road trips. I was able to drive for about 2 hours over two days and not fill up my 64gb sd card. I still have plenty of space actually.
The dashcam has a "park mode" that is powered by the built in battery on the dash. Battery has been good enough to last through a two hour movie while my car was parked in the lot.. Nextbase claims that the battery will last for over a week while your vehicle is off and parked. The G sensor becomes more sensitive in park mode and will automatically power on and record for 3 minutes if it detects movement and then shut down again. Cool feature to have!
The nextbase 322GW is an excellent dash cam with many great features. Once the app is polished, I'm sure it will make this dash cam perfect.
Pros: "Click and Go" Mount system is very cool
Highly Accurate GPS built in
Wide Angle view with polarizing filter
Loop Recording
Park mode, SOS feature and G sensor
Cons : iOS app is buggy and needs fixing. Could not update firmware or transfer footage wirelessly to my phone with app.

Stylish, Comfortable and good sound

I’ve had the pleasure of testing these earbuds for the past 72 hours. Two gym sessions and an 8 hour work shift later, I feel comfortable saying that these headphones are a good deal for the asking price. They are comfortable with the “cloud foam” buds installed and I think those cool comfy blue buds are the most comfortable out of the bunch included in the box, they also isolate the best and sound the best. I found the standard tips and biggest tips less comfortable and didn’t isolate my ears enough to sound very pleasing. I was initially disappointed with the sound quality, but I think they sound way better with the blue foam buds in your ears. That being said, JLab has 3 presets for sound. jlab sognature, balanced and bass boost. You can access them by triple tapping on the left ear bud. I think the JLab signature preset is the better sounding eq of the three. Volume, pause and track skipping can be used by tapping on the earbuds. The left and right ear bud each have their own settings. Refer to the manual for specifics. As far as sound quality, they aren’t the best.. but you’d be hard pressed to find something better for the same price. Audio is well balanced and I can’t complain. Battery life is excellent, I haven’t had to charge the carry case yet. The charge cable is built into it, which is pretty awesome. The earbuds themselves are quite sleek and stylish. I like that they are stealthy and sleek. If you’re looking for some truest wireless earbuds with a convenient charging case, check these out. They’re worth a try!

Boomtastic sound, tough rugged build quality
on June 15, 2019

I was immediately impressed with the sound that this little thick block delivers. It gets very loud! I was also impressed with the bass it thumps, it isn't that rattling bass, you know, the kind that distorts sound? It's that low subtle bass that provides just the right amount of oompf to carry that bass note to your ears. Mids and highs are well balanced and this speaker is great for a wide variety of music genres in my opinion. The speaker has this "outdoor boost" button that you can toggle on and off on its underside which makes the speaker even louder! Build quality of the speaker is awesome. It is waterproof, dust proof, and floats in the pool! Lol honestly tho, trying to listen to music with this thing in the water is hard, water is going to muffle any speaker. BUT it's awesome not having to worry about your speaker falling into the pool and sinking to the bottom, or getting soaked while you chill with it outdoors. The battery goes on all day and it only takes about 2 hours to charge. I also like the loop that is built into the speaker, makes tethering it anywhere easy. This is my new favorite portable speaker. It's the perfect size for easy carrying and sounds great. I'm thinking about buying a second one to pair it with for stereo sound.
Pros : Loud. Great sound. Tough and rugged. 100 ft Long range bluetooth. The ability to pair it to a second speaker for stero sound.
Cons. Micro USB charger. (Mostly because it is being phased out) and I only want to carry USB C now.

Great headset for streamers and game recording
on June 5, 2019
Posted by: Ponskippa
from San Antonio, TX
This is the first time I've ever gotten to try a pair of Astro gaming headsets. I'm impressed with the build and sound quality of this headset. The included amp makes it really easy to toggle between different EQ presets, and lets you balance the volume of the game and voice. This is my favorite feature on the amp. When used with the PS4 it is so convenient being able to adjust the volume to your preference on the fly instead of having to dig through menus in the PS4. It does support DOLBY Surround sound 7.1 , which is especially great when connected to a PC. It makes for an immersive experience and you can hear bullets whizz past you, footsteps coming and going. The headset is pretty well tuned, and the low frequencies don't really overpower the highs. The microphone has good noise cancellation, and my friends said I sounded nice and clear. I could be wrong, but I believe it is a feature that this headset has, but I am able to hear myself talking pretty good. My voice seems to come through the headset along with game and chat audio. It sounds great though, it's not an echo. I like it because then I dont feel like Im shouting when talking while gaming or streaming.
My only complaint with this headset is that there is alot of wires that need to be connected when used with the PS4. I understand though, using the included optical cable makes for a better sound experience. It's just that you are going to have 3 cables running to and from the amp. The optical audio from the amp to the ps4, a micro usb to power the amp, and the aux cable to connect to the headset. It's fine for desktop or bedroom settings. I wouldn't use it if gaming from the couch. When connecting this headset to the PC, you only need the USB and AUX cable, Using it on a computer allows you to download software to use for EQ settings. The magnetic removable earcups and plates are a nice feature if you're into customizing your headset. Changing the pads will be easy if they ever wear out. The headset is comfortable and did not hurt my head or ears during a long late night gaming session.
I would recommend this headset to gamers who stream, or like to record their gaming to upload and share online because the included amp is a powerful tool to have for it.
Pros: Great sound and microphone quality
Powerful, intuitive Amp.
Compatible with PS4, and PC / Mac
Lots of customization options
Cons: Requires alot of long cables. Connecting to the PS4 can be a little cumbersome.

Good Looks and Impressive Sound
on May 23, 2019
Posted by: Ponskippa
from San Antonio, TX
I could be wrong but I believe this is Bose's first run at this type of technology. As a tech lover, I can say that I am impressed by the Bose Frames. These sunglasses have speakers built inside of the part that rests against your temple. They aren't the bone induction type that only you can hear. So at higher volumes, people close to you will be able to hear what you are listening to. Considering that they are no thicker or wider than the size of my index finger, I have to say that they sound pretty good. They sound fairly balanced, while focusing on highs a bit. If you are looking for something with deep bass, these will not provide it.
Build quality feels a bit cheaper than expected, Although the build materials feel sturdy, they are quite light and should survive a drop. The hinges look gold plated and are easy to open and close. They are quite big and do not have a nose pad, so they might slip alot for people with smaller noses and heads. They fit me quite well and comfortably.
Lenses don't seem to be polarized, but they provided me with adequate shade from the South Texas sun. Battery life is as expected, I averaged a little about 4 to 5 hours of use before needing to recharge them. Bose includes a magnetic charging cable that plugs into any USB port you may have already. Bose also includes a carrying case which is sturdy and protective along with a small bag to stow the charging cable.
Would I recommend this product to just anyone? Hmmm... No.
BUT if you are a sun lover and do many outdoor activities, then perhaps you will love these. I enjoyed my time with these while going for a walk around the park, while sipping on coffee outside my local coffee shop. They are great to use while driving. I used them to talk on the phone while I was driving lol. I can see many times that these sunglasses would be convenient to use. They allow you to listen to your music, or have a conversation on your phone and continue to hear and be aware of your surroundings. Bose provides an app for free on your mobile device. I tested the Android version and the app does not seem to do much other than show you battery life, and control your music / show some artwork. The app does not have an equalizer, perhaps Bose will update the app in time and provide one. I was able to tune the speakers to my liking with the equalizer in my android phone. Overall, I am very impressed with these sunglasses / speakers. I am excited and look forward to future iterations of these frames. They aren't for everyone, but if you are active person outdoors and love new tech. These are for you.
Pros: New Cool Tech, Impressive Sound considering their size
Ability to use them for both music and phone calls
Button that allows music control and access to google assistant
Cons : Lenses are not polarized
No equalizer in Bose Connect app
People will be able hear what you are listening to

Cool , but poor image quality with included sensor
on April 25, 2019
Posted by: Ponskippa
from San Antonio, TX
As a longtime photographer who had his start with film I was initially excited to try the Canon Ivy Cliq+. After all, it does have a very modern and sleek beautiful design. The camera is made of a slick hard plastic. It is quite slippery and besides the textured film cover on the back, there isn't much to grip onto with this camera. I recommend the first thing you do is attach the wrist lanyard that is included with it. The big round mirror in the front acts as a selfie mirror and has framing guidelines etched into it. The white ring around it houses multiple led bulbs for a "flash" In my opinion, they aren't the brightest and if you use them as a fill light, they tend to wash out the colors in your photos. The camera does not have a screen on the back but it does have an optical viewfinder with a helpful frame also etched into the glass to help frame your shots. You can insert a micro sd memory card into the camera to save the photos you take with it. It is charged by micro usb and canon includes a short cable for you, but no power supply. I was able to charge it up with my phone brick. In my use, The battery held just enough charge to use a 10 pack of "film" It will need to recharge by the time you are done printing a 10 pack. The "film" Canon chose to employ for this camera is of the zero ink type, also known as "Zink" It takes the digital image and transfer it to the paper with heat. The camera has a 8mp sensor , there is no mention on lens specifications. I was a bit disappointed with the picture quality produced by the sensor and lens in this camera. The camera meters exposure just ok, but the colors and contrast aren't consistent. In other words, I would not depend on this camera to save your lasting memories, or the film for that matter. I did go out of my way to purchase a couple packs of Canons Zink paper, and it is better quality than competing brands. The adhesive seems stronger and the paper itself also seems stronger. The "zink" technology is very cool, but in my opinion the results are poor at this price point. The best thing about this camera is the ability to connect it to your phone via bluetooth and print photos that you may have taken with your phones superior camera, or even a real digital camera that you may already own! The app is easy to use and transfer photos to the printer simply and quickly.I have included two photos i Printed with the ivy cliq, but that were taken with my mirrorless camera. It is hard to recommend this camera to somebody that wants to take photos to cherish lasting memories with because the "film" is expensive and yields low quality images. This camera is a toy at best, or perhaps for a child whom you want to teach the basics of film and photography too. If you simply must have a hybrid camera / printer that makes stickers out of your photos for you, then perhaps you'll enjoy it.

Boom for your Buck!

Sony delivers great value and a well rounded speaker for your money with the Sony SRS-XB22. Build quality is excellent at this price point, It is made of strong durable material. It has an audio in and micro usb charging port, that are sealed nicely behind a thick rubber cover. You'll also find the buttons to pair it with another speaker for stero sound or to start the party chain. I did not get to test this feature, but if you want to go all out and buy a few of these , I imagine it would be a joy for a small party or outdoors by the pool or BBQ. The XB22 sounds great with just about any genre of music. Bass is very pronounced and full for such a small speaker. It is very well tuned in my opinion. I listened to everything from EDM, Metal, Hip Hop, Classical and Podcasts with it. It all sounded quite pleasing to my ears. Like i mentioned before, bass is present and thumps just enough to get you in rhythm. Mids, Trebles, Vocals are well balanced and crisp. The lights do a great job at syncing to the beat of the music and provide a nice ambient lighting effect. One thing to mention is that as far as I can tell, it only flashes white lights. I could not find an option for different colors. So no "rave" lighting effects with this one. The speaker has a "Live" option button on the speaker. I honestly could not hear a significant change in sound. It seems to add a "reverb" or hall type effect to the music. Maybe if you pair it with a couple other speakers the effect will be more effective. All in all, i really enjoy this speaker. It is rugged, has very good battery life and is dust and water resistant. Just don't go playing water polo with it. It's only rated to be under about 3 feet of water for a few minutes. You don't need to worry about rain or sand. Sony states that it is salt water resistant! So feel free to jam with it at the beach.
Pros : Excellent Sound quality
Light that syncs to your music
Rugged, water resistance
Excellent battery life
Pairs with sony speakers
Con - Micro Usb charging port. Mostly because I don't have many of these laying around anymore.

Produce clear pictures and sound with this Miroir Full HD pico projector. The 7000 mAh lithium-polymer battery offers up to 2 hours of viewing time, while the pair of 2W speakers deliver high-quality sound for an all-around multimedia experience. This Miroir Full HD pico projector has HDMI and USB Type-C ports for secure connection to a variety of input devices.

What speakers go well with this??

If you want to keep things "portable" I would recommend using any portable speaker with an AUX input. most bluetooth speakers come with an AUX input. Get a 3.5mm aux cable and plug it into your speaker of choice!

Can you record on cassette tapes when playing from Bluetooth.

yes, But i believe it records with the built in microphone. So don't expect the best sound quality and it might pick up ambient sounds in the room during the recording.

I have this soundbar connected to the Sony 75 X850E TV using the HDMI ARC connection. There is a slight audio lag using the soundbar (occurs with HDMI or optical). The delay is small but definitely there, so this causes lip sync issues. Any suggestions?

you can try to adjust it by pressing the option button, then TV or HDMI (according to whichever you are experiencing lag) then press the up or down button press the center button to adjust. It can be difficult to get it perfect. I've tried myself and I just got it as close as I could

I recently purchased the HT-X9000F along with a 2018 TCL Series 6 TV. While it sounds great, is there any way to have its menu appear on my TCL 6 series? It's hard to know which mode I'm in or cycle through the settings without having them show up.

You have to connect the soundbar with an HDMI cable for the menu to appear on screen on your input of choice. If you have it connected with an optical cable it won't work. Also, you need to have it connected with HDMI as it is the only way to enable dolby atoms on supported titles.

I've got my Soundbar hooked up to my TCL 6 Series via HDMI to HDMI ARC, however, when I press the "Home" button on my Sony remote. It just mutes the sound and no menu comes up. Please help! Thanks.

maybe try resetting the sound bar? the manual shows you how to reset the system.
