Refrigerator Water Line Hookup
I have an existing water line to my refrigerator. When you install the refrigerator will you hookup the water line? I have a hardwood floor. What procedures and precautions do you take with the water?
first thing's first, you have to have your water shut off before the delivery drivers will unhook the existing refrigerator (or you can unhook it yourself). the best thing to do is to get a NEW stainless steel waterline that will run from the back of the refrigerator to the wall. old ones from existing refrigerators can gunk up and make your water taste awful, not to mention, if there's corrosion to the old one, it can bust and cause you not to be able to use your refrigerator's ice and water until a new waterline is purchased.
as far as precaution goes, the drivers will make sure your water is turned off before installation so they don't damage your hardwood. ALSO, they'll take special considerations with getting the product into your home and not scratch your floor.
just call your local best buy and ask an appliance specialist of all the details!
