Not too bulky, phone fits everywhere i want it to.

I usually stay away from Otterbox cases just because I don't like how bulky the phone becomes and I have never shattered the screen on my dozen or so phones that i have owned in the last 10 years.
Well, my luck ran out on having a track record of pristine phones with minimal protection on them. After shattering the screen on my S7 Edge a couple months ago and being refused even paying for an out-of-warranty repair by Samsung "due to extenuating business circumstances (Note 7 recall)," I have come to the conclusion that cell phones today either require a good case on them or an extended warranty service; otherwise if you break it, it may cost more to repair than the phone is worth. Which is exactly what happened to be the case for the galaxy S7 edge. A new screen cost $350 and I would have had to replace it myself. Resale value for a used S7 edge was also about that much for one in perfect condition.
I decided to get the smaller S8 and am glad I did. It's $120 cheaper and, combined with the Otterbox Symmetry, still fits everywhere I want it to while protecting the phone from the mostly inevitable. I haven't dropped the S8 YET but I am sure I will and I feel confident that the case will do what it was intended to do when it happens. The only thing that it definitely won't protect against is a direct hit to the screen with an object that is taller than the surface it falls onto (pebble, rock, etc); which brings me to screen protection.
The case does not come with a screen protector. The rubber portion of the case is flush with the metal frame that goes around the outside edges of the phone. You can use an edge-to edge screen protector with the Symmetry case without worrying about the case peeling it away when inserting/removing the phone from the case. The type of screen protector you use may also be an important factor. When I shattered the screen on my S7 Edge, i had the phone in my front pocket with the screen facing outwards. I accidentally hit it with a metal water bottle on the curved edge of the screen and it was game over. I did not have a screen protector on the S7 but I don't think it would have made a difference. I have a "military grade film" on the S8 right now and am unsure if it would still protect against the same kind of impact, even combined with this case.
Long story short, buy this case if you are looking for guaranteed protection from short drops and rough surfaces that may scratch or crack the back/sides of the phone. Please realize that if you want total and complete protection for your phone, you will need to still be careful with holding/storing your phone, even with this case and a good screen protector. In that bothers you, get a different phone with a flat screen and a completely sealed case.

Used it to mount a small display in my kitchen

Mounted a 24" Playstation display (that I had in storage) in my kitchen and added a chromecast. Screws come with the kit but i had to buy slightly smaller screws and washers at the hardware store to get the brackets that attach to the monitor to fit. Everything is been working great 3 months later!

The designers have thought of (almost) everything

I received this camera bag as part of a promotional deal with the purchase of my Nikon D750. It is actually a very nice size and will hold a camera and two lenses nicely as well as a few small accessories. There are dedicated pockets for storing spare memory cards and a side pouch to hold a small water bottle or tripod. The bag even has a handle on top if you want to carry it instead of wear it. It took me a couple days to realize that the bag is to be worn like a messenger bag instead of resting on a shoulder. The bag also has a key ring attachment inside one of the pockets to keep your keys from falling out accidentally. Finally, there is one hidden feature that I doubt most users will even notice, the bag does have a waist strap tucked behind the padded back that can be pulled out and used if you need that extra stabilization. The shoulder strap also features a plastic ring on the end that allows the wearer to attach a carabiner or clip and have something hang off to the side when wearing.
The only downfall i could see being with this bag is that a camera may make it top heavy when resting it in the top of the main compartment. If you were to open the bag in a hurry and weren't careful, I could see the camera easily falling out and hitting the ground. Maybe a thin elastic band crossing the inside compartment on the top of the bag would be enough to prevent that from happening.
All in all, The Lowepro Urban Photo Sling 250 is a great camera bag!

A great body that takes some amazing shots

Finally decided to take the step up to a professional level DSLR. My last camera was a Canon Digital Rebel T1i. I had a price range of $3000-$4000 in mind for the body and lens combined. My last DSLR purchase included an 18-55mm lens. While the zoom was a nice feature to have, I was not too terribly impressed by the build quality of the "stock" lens that came with the camera.
For this purchase, I decided that the D750 body would be in the right range for my needs, I am very happy with 24 megapixels. While I have not taken full advantage of some of the custom settings and added features in this model, I can say that it takes some amazing pictures when paired with the Nikkor 24mm f/1.4 lens. I am very happy that I purchased a lens separately; although I am sometimes limited by a lack of zoom, the Nikkor 24mm lens is a beautiful performer and I can crop my pictures reasonably well while still keeping the images a decent size, thanks to the 24mp sensor. Just after purchasing the set, Nikon announced their latest 24-70mm zoom lens. If I had a little more cash in the budget and a little more patience, I would probably had purchased the zoom lens.
I don't regret switching from Canon to Nikon and am glad I didn't have much stock in Canon lenses. I plan on sticking with Nikon for the future and plan on adding to my lens collection over the years to come. Lets hope they don't change the mounting system any time soon. All in all, the Nikon D750 is a great first entry into owning a professional DSLR and I am very pleased with my purchase.

How often should you replace your battery in a digital camera?

Between 9-12 months is normal lifespan for rechargeable batteries, depending on how heavy you use it and how drained you let it get before you recharge.
