RobfromCleveland's Reviews

From Johnny Cash to The Who, this Crosley Traveler CR49-BK portable turntable allows you to play 7", 10" and 12" vinyl records loud and clear. A durable case with corner guards and a handle safeguard the record player while you're on the go.

Fantastic little unit if you're not a audiophlie

I bought this bad boy to put in our den next to our bar so I can play it during social gatherings and game nights. This record player fits the bill perfectly. I'm not looking for supreme audio or anything, just something that looked neat, played records, was easy to use/maintenance, and got the party started.
You'll read reviews that Crossley products are cheap knock-offs of what they once where, I can't confirm or deny that. What I'm reviewing is my own experience with the product and so far, I like it a whole lot. I love it. It works and sounds great for my tastes.
My only beef is that in the pictures it looks like this case is wrapped in something that resembles leather. OF COURSE I know they're not going to use leather (it's only a $100 unit), but I was expecting something a bit higher quality than it is it, basically glued on paper that feels like leather.
Long story short.
* Great for parties
*Great if you're into records and don't want to break the bank on a expensive record player.
* Not great if you're a audio snob. (Not saying the audio is bad, it's just not the level of fidelity we're used to in this Dolby surround 7.1 world we live in)
What's great about it: Super easy to use, sounds great
What's not so great: Wish it had more knobs for tone (bass/ treble)
I would recommend this to a friend!
