A multi-function TENS device

The Beurer - Digital TENS Device maybe a simple TENS device but it actually has some value to it. First, it has rechargeable battery include with a USB-C. (And though not an issue for me, but it most devices save cellphones and TWS earbuds still have the older micro-USB standard.) Size like a medium-sized cell phone the Beurer TENS device is actually a multi-function device. Of course it has the TENS function for muscle pain relief. But since this device emits small electrical pulses, it can also act as an EMS device for muscle development. On top of that it has a heat function which is not really found in TENS devices.
The TENS mode features fifteen programs, three of which you can program yourself. For the EMS mode, you have 35 programs of which three can be self-programmed. But personally, I plan to use the TENS programs more often. And on top of that, there is a heat mode so that you can have a better feel for relaxation. Charging the unit via USB-C takes between one to two hours. As indicated above, there are around fifty programs to choose from. And I highly suggest that you keep the manual for reference.
There are four pads included which is connected to the unit also via USB-C. Again the manual is good reference for where to put these pads in your body. Unfortunately, there are only four gel pads included in this package though I wish it had an extra set. Nonetheless, gel pads are easily available. (I have ordered a thirty-pack from another vendor as of this writing.)
I am quite pleased the Beurer Digital TENS device. This is highly recommended.

This is a handy heat therapy device

The Beurer - Infrared Heat Lamp is a simple device used for pain therapy via infrared heat. This device which oddly looks like a gaming device from the 80s (see picture) is fairly simple to use. Just position the ceramic infrared heating element to your body and power it on. (In essence there is no need to read the manual to operate it. But it is strongly suggested that you do.) It has an adjustable heating time with a maximum of fifteen minutes for safety reasons. Mind you this device gets hot! (Note no specific BTUs were indicated though.)
But what about simply using a heater? Well the advantage of this heat lamp aside from being portable is that it has a wattage of only 300 watts. Compare that to the usual 1500-1800 watts used in a home heater. And if you are worried about getting eye damage, a pair of eye protectors are included as well.
Overall this is a highly recommended device for heat therapy.

I’ve been using electric Dremel type of manicure/pedicure sets for quite some time. But I can clearly state that this Beurer manicure/ pedicure set takes the cake. FIrst my electric manicure set is corded. So a wireless one is a benefit. Second and most important is that the rotation speed of this set is neither too strong nor too weak which is a godsend. It’s sapphire and felt tips just provide the right amount of pressure when filing my nails. Quite often, corded manicure sets tend to have a lot of torque so much care is needed when using those. Beurer set provides several tips and two for calluses. And I must say I haven’t tried all of the tips yet, but I can say that the ones that I did use are far superior to the ones I am using. The sapphire tips alone are subtle to the touch and yet they perform quite well. Also being cordless further gives the advantage of ease of use. This manicure set is a cut above the rest when compared to my corded set. And with going to the salon no longer cheap, this adds to savings on your part. I’d definitely recommend this to everyone.

Life Note 3S are an incredible pair of truly wireless earbuds that sport 13.4mm oversized drivers to make your music listening experience a quality one. A solid pair of mid-priced TWS earbuds!

The Soundcore - by Anker Life Note 3S Earbuds True Wireless In-Ear Headphones is the latest model of the Soundcore Life Note series of true wireless earbuds. One thing to note in this pair of earbuds aside from the stems are that these dispense with the silicone eartips and went to Apple-like shaped earbuds. Now some of you may or not like these being similar to Airpods but that is matter of personal choice. One may notice though is that this pair of TWS earbuds are extremely light and gives a plasticky and less than premium feel to them. That said, once put on your ear is that they feel not existent in your ear. And there is a decent amount of noise isolation with these in spite of the absence of silicone ear tips. Furthermore, there seems to be a firm fit of the earbuds in my ears. This is achieved by the twisting of the earbuds to secure a firm fit.
The charging case comes with some welcome upgrades. First is the replacement of the older micro-USB charging port with the newer standard USB-C charging port. A separate cable is included in the box. And for those who prefer to ditch cables, the charging case is wireless capable charging case which is becoming a standard of TWS earbuds. But at this price point, this is still quite hard to find. Inside the charging case now includes a pairing button. This makes it very convenient to pair the earbuds with another audio source. The earbuds boast of a run time of five hours and the charging case can give you an additional six charges or a full 35 hours of power which is enough to last you almost a week under normal use. And if you are in a pinch, a ten minute charge can give you an hour’s worth of listening. Clearly, the feature set of the charging case is one that you’d find in more expensive TWS earbuds.
The Life Note 3S true wireless earbuds has 13.4 mm oversized drives with enhanced bass boost for a fuller sound compared to other earbuds. And if that still doesn;t satisfy you, the Life Note 3S is included in Soundcore’s music app. It has 20 sound presets a bass boost button and Soundcore’s signature sound preset with a customizable equalizer to boot. If that doesn’t meet your audio needs, I don’t know what will. But what is nice in the app that this particular model has added features such as left and right earbuds battery indicators. Also, enhanced touch controls are included with volume controls a feature not included in other Soundcore earbuds. If you’re into mobile gaming, the app now features a gaming mode which offers reduced latency. And last it has ten white noise settings with timer which helps you sleep rest and relax. Definitely these are features found in high end earbuds. These are definitely nice additions to a mid-priced pair of TWS earbuds.
Lastly, Life Note 3S true wireless earbuds have 4 microphones with noise reduction technology which offers clear calls though I am not sure if the Life Note 3S clear voice capture (CVC) noise suppression technology or some other similar noise reduction technology used for calls. Regardless, voice calls are quite clear on this model.
This is definitely a feature packed pair of TWS earbuds at mid-ranged price. It would be hard to pass up on this one if you are on a budget. I’d definitely recommend this pair of earbuds.

A solid basic blender

The Oster® Pulverizing Power Blender with High Speed Motor is in essence a non-descript blender. That said it has several attributes worth noting so that it would affect your purchase decision of a traditional blender. First it has a glass carafe which is a plus for me as not only it gives heft to the product but is also better for flavors eliminating any plastic odors or taste. It also has a metal drive that gives you the assurance it won’t break down so easily to come. A downside though is the blender housing itself is made of plastic and comes in gray somewhat giving it a sense of not being premium since I am used to chrome and black blender housings. That said, it compensates that it does not vibrate much in spite of its 800-watt motor and the suction small as they have good traction. Add to that the heft of the carafe, you can be quite comfortable that the product is stable even though you are not holding it when in use. Of course, it is still prudent to hold the product when in use just in case. There are eight settings namely Stir, Mix, Chop, Blend, Liquify, Puree, Liquify and Pulse though over the years I have only used the equivalent of low, medium, high and pulse. There is not much to look for a blender at this price range. But one thing I can say is that it is still a solid blender in spite of its casing. I’d still recommend this to others.

Massagers come in all forms and sizes. The Beurer - Vibrating Massage Ball is one such massager. But the beauty of this massager is that it is both portable and as already described vibrating. Looking like a futuristic detonating device seen in sci-fi action movies, the shape alone an when used with pressure is already providing a soothing relief. Add to those two levels of vibrations (powered by AAA batteries) make a perfect little device you can bring anywhere for you to sooth those aching muscles. Not much more can be said except that it gives a good massage in a handy little package. This is definitely worth purchasing.

It takes a sting to cure a sting!

Beurer - Insect Bite Healer is an interesting product. At first glance you may even doubt if this is really a gimmick or not. But actually it works and is a nice addition to your first aid kit especially when you’re outdoors. First this device is small and quite honestly looks like a remote control for a popular streaming device named after a search engine.
How it works is generally heating up the insect bite immediately in order for it to work. The immediate heat given by the tiny ceramic healing plates dissolves any saliva or venom by the insect before the latter goes in to effect. One can imagine how this can happen with a device powered only by two AAA batteries. But it actually works. After turning it on, you can select what level of heat it can generate. First is a three second heat pulse aimed for sensitive skin. Second is a sic second heat pulse for less sensitive skin. Mind you this stings. And as a precaution, younger kids may find this as traumatic as the actual insect bite itself. But it gives immediate relief though if used immediately after the insect bite. I’d recommend this to others.

A versatile vacuum cleaner!

I’ve owned a couple of cordless stick vacuum cleaners but in my honest opinion Shark® Cordless Vertex™ Pro Vacuum is the one cordless vacuum that can actually replace your corded vacuum cleaner. First, the included battery is strong enough to provide power equivalent to a standard vacuum cleaner. But you might say other cordless vacuums can also do the same. Well this vacuum can go on for an hour. But you may say again that so do others. Well yes but not at this price point.
But really, it’s not all about the price alone. One strong feature I like is the Multiflex wand which is actually the main rod being able to fold in order to reach spaces under tables and the like. This feature is notably absent in most stick vacuum cleaners, corded or not corded. Furthermore, the Multiflex wand can fully folded for storage eliminating the need for a hanging rack or even disassembling it for storage. (See pictures.)
Also, the included filters are hand washable unlike most vacuum cleaners outer. This alone adds to cost savings from frequently buying filters for your vacuum. It has a digital display which shows power mode, hard floor or carpet mode. The canister and filters are removable which is pretty standard. It has dual self cleaning fins in the roller and is fairly easy to remove for cleaning. And it has lights which is a convenient feature but I personally don’t really need. Bu it is nice to have. Operation in a nutshell is pretty much simple and for the most part reading the manual can be dispensed with though I still recommend it though.
Accessories inside the package include the battery charger (of course), a crevice tool, a dusting brush and a multi-angle dusting brush. But there is an additional seven tools that can be purchased separately if you need them.
Overall, the Shark® Cordless Vertex™ Pro Vacuum is not only a solid performer but also a value for money vacuum cleaner that can actually replace any regular vacuum cleaner. I would strongly recommend this one compared to other vacuum cleaners out there.

A nifty tool for your videography

The RØDE - Vlogger Kit USB-C Edition is a nice addition to level up your video taking capabilities whether you are a vlogger or simply one who wants to shoot videos. Of course camera phones nowadays takes good videos but audio is sometimes a hit or miss. With this microphone you can now have directional recording for your audio which provides better audio quality compared to the built-in mic in your phone.
Included in the kit si the directional microphone which connects via USB-C (There is a lightning version of this mic too.) A mic clip, a tripod, a light with filters, a deadcat and a charging cable. Usage is pretty much simple, just plug the mic to your phone and you’re good to go. Of course the accessories are there too.
Upon testing this mic, it gives more clarity to the sounds in front of the mic and background noise is reduced significantly. Still, unwanted noises can be recorded and that’s where the deadcat (that furry little thing included) comes in. With the deadcat on, unwnanted noises have mostly been cut off. Also, the mic has a 3.5mm jack wherein you can better monitor the sounds you are recording. Though not really necessary, a companion app is recommended to be installed in your phone. This is where you would be able to update the firmware of your phone. One thing to note tough is that this mic does not offer flash recording wherein you can edit audio and video separately and sync them back together. But then again, this is for the casual vlogger.
The included light for me is to bright if you are vlogging yourself but sufficient enough if you are using it to video other stuff. There are filters included so the you can have some color depth in your video.
I can’t say anymore for this mic save for the fact that it is a nifty addition to your video taking activities.

The Samsung - 980 PRO 2TB PCIE 4.0 x4 NVMe Gen4 Internal Gaming SSD M.2 is blazing. Though I still have to setup/build a gaming rig with a PCIE 4.0 compatibility for my son. I did try it on his HP Pavilion i5 gaming laptop with only PCIE 3.0. (For those wondering this will work on older motherboards, these SSDs are backwards compatible.)
First, I installed the RAM card on an enclosure and used is as an external drive. Transfer rates average at 95mbps whereas our backup ssd external drives have a transfer rate of a maximum of 48mbps. Then using Samsung’s data migration tool, I was able to clone 240gb of data from our gaming laptop to this drive for roughly an hour (or roughly 4gb per minute). Once done, I have noticed that the SSD was extremely hot. So I then had to purchase a 1 mm copper heatsink with thermal tape.
I then installed it to our laptop and boot times was extremely fast. My estimate was not over thirty seconds perhaps less. (I just counted and our previous SSD boots in within a minute or so.) Using Samsung Magician, I observed the temperature of the SSD was at 46C (34C upon startup) with the heatsink on which is still considered as normal. I would guess that without the heatsink installed, the temperature would be around 60-70C.
The speed of this SSD is still not yet maximized as I have not yet made a PCIe 4.0 based gaming rig. But it sure is definitely fast. One thing to note that at this point in time it is quite expensive as it still considered bleeding edge. Add the fact that there is a chip shortage as of time due to the pandemic hence really increasing the price. That said I would still recommend this SSD but I would also recommend it that you use it on a PCIe 4.0 compatible motherboard to fully maximize its potential.

The wifi performance is good. However I found it odd that when I used fast.com to measure speed, the phone registered 20 mbps which by itself pretty good if you're using a phone. But since I ran it simultaneously with my pc, my pc had a 70 mbps. Also the processor is not bad. It is not the latest and is commonly found in low end or rather entry level android phones. If you want a better phone you might want to consider the POP 4S which is similar but has an octa-core processor at 1.8 GHz, 2GB RAM 13 mp camera with a fingerprint sensor at $170. This sells for $150. So the $20 dollar difference is worth it. But the Black Friday deal sells at $50. So I got this phone. :)

I wanted to like this phone. The specs were just fine. The screen was just fine. The only complaint I had was that the phone reboots frequently. Fresh off a factory reset, it would constantly reboot before I could even set it up. As a software engineer, I am disappointed that software like this can even be released. This is not the way to showcase a brand and the reason for many returns on otherwise perfectly fine hardware.

A lot of Alcatel models are like this including my Pop 4+. It seems that if you have a boot loop, let the phone rest for a few minutes then restart. do this even if you have wiped data. But this shouldn't happen at all especially for a new phone.

Alcatel uses older underpowered cpu which slows performance compared to currently available android marshmallow phones. Alcatel does support adoptive SD card storage unlike LG and Samsung. Dual sim is a plus. Needs better processor to be competitive.

as mentioned in the title, if you need a faster phone get the 4S. It has a 1.8Ghz processer and 2GB RAM. There are three POP 4 phones - POP 4/POP 4 Plus/POP 4S wherein the 4 Plus is the mid-tier POP 4 phone. But for $49.99 during Black Friday, why not?

The phone keeps restarting even though the battery has more than enough charge. I've tried a hard reset and that hasnt helped. A factory reset stopped the cycle and i managed to use the phone for like 20 minutes and the phone restarted. When we ordered the phone, we also ordered a case from a third party. At first we thought the case was pressing the power button because it was a tight fit but it didnt seem right. There was also an incident i had in the past with the one touch evolve that was exactly the same. I would like to hear back and now if this can be fix :) Have a nice Day!

After having the phone for less than 1 month, I took it on vacation where I didn't have service. On the way my phone started to restart randomly. When I arrived at my destination the phone started into a reboot loop. If I caught it booting up quick enough occasionally I could navigate for a couple minutes. Even after I was able to get wifi connected and any other setting I thought could affect it such as gps location disabled the phone continued into the reboot loop. After researching on many blogs and andriod q and a sites I couldn't find a helpful answer to remedy the issue. I reluctantly did a factory reset but the loop continued. Finally, after returning back home I attempted to use the phone and it returned to "normal". I am very dissatisfied and I am generally very easy to please. I will be looking for another device to replace this asap.

I also did the factory reset to ease the symptoms. But it seems to be the gps module as then random reboots often occur when I am in my car and mobile. Also when I use Yelp and try to get directions, the phone restarts. No problem when I'm home though.

I purchased this phone on black Friday because bestbuy was selling at $50, the phone had 2-yrs warranty, and Alcatel is one of the few good brands. I was excited about this purchase thinking that I paid only $50, but my excitement did vanish in a couple of days when I found that the phone restarts itself. After keeping an eye on the phone for a few days, I found that it restarts only when I drive or I am in a remote area. I googled about the issue and luckily found the reason behind restart. I am using T-mobile connection and had turned 4G LTE on. The 4G LTE service of T-mobile is not available in all areas of ABQ and therefore whenever I drove in areas where T-mobile signal was weak, phone used to restart. My phone never restarted in my school or in my house as T-mobile signal is excellent in these places. To fix the issue, I changed the network settings in my phone and set 3G as the default data service and after that it never restarted.
So, if any of you are facing restart issue, just stop using 4G LTE and use 3G. This solution worked for me. Hopefully it might work for you,too.
My finding is - this phone supports 4G only if the strength of the signal is excellent, otherwise, it restarts itself. But I don't know why doesn't it ,like other brands, work in case of bad signal. My friend has samsung phone and she never had the restart issue though we go to all the places together in the same car.
All other features of this phone are like samsung phone - my the most favorite brand. I haven't observed any other issue and the phone works like charm. Speed, sound quality (the default music player doesn't have equalizer, so you might try VLC music player), picture+video quality, and call quality are just superb. Finally I started loving this phone.
So, if any of you are facing restart issue, just stop using 4G LTE and use 3G. This solution worked for me. Hopefully it might work for you,too.

I called tech support and was informed that there is an issue with this phone. Alcatel promptly replaced my phone with newer firmware and presumably hardware and the problems of random reboots have gone.

I brought this phone for $50 during Thanksgiving and this phone was delivered to me after 30 days but I thought OK its late but may be worth it.
I start using this phone and haven't made even 5 calls this phone restarting by itself every min, so i did factory reset and tried all other suggestions from online forums but nothing helped. Since this is under warranty i had to ship it Alcatel repair center but on my own pocket expenses, AH!.
Alcatel should cover shipping fees as its their fault that their phone is faulty.
Alcatel don't even have their store/facility locations where i can go give my phone for repair physically rather paying for shipping.
I would also recommend that Best Buy has brand name and they should NOT allow low quality brands/product to be sold on their site.

I also bought mine during Thanksgiving and had the same problem. I called Alcatel and they acknowledged that there is a hardware problem and emailed a shipping label for FedEx. Within a week or so I received a replacement phone via UPS. Do note I did pay for shipping and replacement of my phone. In fairness to Alcatel this replacement phone does not have the random reboots anymore.

How would you rate MSI laptops against other laptops for general applications?
MSI is relatively new and build quality is a bit shoddy. But slowly it has been improving over the years. Specs wise, it's a value for money system.
