A product in its own category

The Sony ZV-1 is Sony’s latest “premium” point and shoot camera launched recently. It sports the same 1.0 Exmor sensor found in Sony’s flagship point and shoot camera the RX100 VII. One can say that the ZV-1 is the RX100 VII little cousin. And I say cousin as the ZV-1 is not only a stripped down version of the RX100 VII but also geared to another market namely content creators or vloggers. And in this sense Sony is creating a niche in an already crowded space.
First and foremost, one would notice that the ZV-1 and the RX100 series have similar form-factors. One would notice that the ZV-1 is made of what Sony would term as composite material as compared to the magnesium alloy build of the RX100 series. In ordinary words, it’s made of plastic and not metal. Still, it has a premium feel similar to what you would find in entry-level DSLRs.
Also gone in the ZV-1 are the pop-up EVF on the top left side and the pop-up flash on the center top. Instead you would find a hot shoe on the top left where you can attach an external mic or a flash and on the top center is a directional 3-capsule mic. One thing to note is that Sony includes what it refers to as a wind screen for the mic which you attach into the hot shoe. (This is wind screen is also known as a dead cat.)
The ZV-1 has an articulating screen (a first in Sony point and shoot cameras but not handycams) instead of the usual tilting LCDs often found in the RX-100 series. The mode dial notably has been removed and has been replaced a mode button and you have to use the screen dial. (This IMO may be a dealbreaker as some prefer an actual mode dial.) And lastly, Sony added a rubber grip to the ZV-1 which IMHO is a nice touch to it.
As mentioned earlier Sony touts this as a vlogging camera more than that of a stills camera. And since this is a “cousin” of the RX100, I would no longer delve into the quality of still pictures but highlight on the “vlogging” aspects of this camera. (After all, the manual is around 550 pages long.)
Like the later model RX100 models, the ZV-1 has 4k video capabilities, but one thing to really amaze at this camera is its product showcase function. At the press of one button (which is the delete button during shooting mode), the camera can immediately focus on a product (or any object for that matter) at an arm’s length distance when it is moved (fairly quickly) to the front of the camera for a close up. Upon testing this feature repeatedly, I’d say that I’m amazed at this feature and that it works as advertised. I have not yet heard of any consumer level camera even from smartphones that can do this feature.
Another cool feature of the ZV-1 is background defocus mode. A button on the top right of the camera enables the camera to immediately go into bokeh mode or cinematic effect as a lot of vloggers refer to it. What is interesting to note is that it’s a simplified process and one does not need to know about adjusting aperture. And while it works, it is worthwhile to consider that the bokeh is not as “creamy” given the limit of the one inch sensor as compared to larger sensors from m4/3s, APS-C and full frame cameras. Still the effect is optical and not through software. Also, this has an advantage over smartphones as the bokeh effect is limited only in stills and not through video.
These two highlights of the ZV-1 plus features from the RX100 are compelling reasons to consider this camera over the RX100 VII given that there is almost a $500 price difference between the two models. But also, the ZV-1 can also hold on its own against other cameras as well. My primary complaint for the ZV-1 is like the RX series is that it still uses the small NP-BX1 batteries. So it would be prudent to stock up on extra batteries.
And finally for vlogging uses, a wireless shooting grip (Sony GP-VPT2BT) is available too. It is primarily a remote control grip that enables you to vlog and also function as a small tripod.
Overall, the Sony ZV-1 (as well as it’s accessory grip) is highly recommended for those who not only want to shoot stills but also use a very capable tool for vlogging.

Decent pair of true wirless earbuds
on June 16, 2020
Posted by: msumulong
from Glendora, CA
I have the original Skullcandy Sesh True Wireless In-Ear Earbuds. And the Skullcandy Sesh Evo True Wireless In-Ear Earbuds is much improved product. First, the battery life of of the Sesh Evo has been improved from three on the original Sesh to five. And the dismal ten hour additional battery life has been increased to nineteen thereby making the Sesh Evo more or less at par with other TWS earbuds out there.
Another significant improvement of the Sesh Evo over the original Sesh is that the Sesh Evo is binaural feature meaning you can use either earbud as a standalone earbud. Also, when making calls, the sound comes from both earbuds.
As for audio quality is concerned, it has the same sound signature of the original Sesh and is bassy. The mids and highs are somewhat muffled. But overall, the sound is still pretty decent for TWS earbuds at this price range. For this I am removing one star as I hoped the mids and highs would also be improved in this newer model.
That said, the Sesh Evo is still a recommended buy for those looking for a budget pair of earbuds that has decent quality.

For those who want some flare in their appliances
on June 6, 2020

Microwave ovens are pretty much a commodity nowadays. In fact, they are now utilitarian. You have two main designs one being an over-the-top design also acting as an exhaust to your stove and the other being the ubiquitous counter-top model. And quite often, their designs are very drab. But not so much did the Galanz microwave oven.
The Galanz microwave oven though still utilitarian, comes in three hip colors namely Vinyl Black, Bebop Blue and Hot Rod Red a step in the usual white or occasionally black or stainless steel design of most microwave ovens out there. (I have the Hot Rod Red model.) Aside from that, the Galanz has a very sixties themed design for their ovens. So these in essence are the unique selling points of the Galanz microwave ovens.
Function wise, the Galanz microwave oven features a 700-watt power outage. Standard power controls via tuning knob. It has a clock and a timer. A defrost feature and pre-set cooking times. Since the design is not digital (save the clock), usage is not necessarily intuitive and obviously requires reading the manual. The rotating dish is only 9.7 inches in diameter.
So who is this for? People living in small residences or people who have a spare room that would require a second oven would be the market for this. This definitely is not for large families but it goes without saying that it can’t do the job. Upon initial use, I found the microwave to be quite capable. But this microwave is definitely for people who would put more on style over function. So if you’re the type who’d one some flare on your kitchen appliances, I’d recommend this oven. But given the smaller size and power output and the price point, I’d just nick one star off this one. Still a recommended buy for those who want to indulge.

Finally a mouse that works for the iPad!
on May 12, 2020
Posted by: msumulong
from Glendora, CA
Since the release the iPad, the boon of every power iPad user is support for a mouse. For years this has been a frustrating experience for a lot of users especially when office suites came around for the iPad. To add insult to injury, Apple provided first support for a stylus rather than a mouse or a track pad. (Of course, there are the basic rubber tipped styli but I’m actually referring to the Apple Pen here.)
Almost ten years later, Apple has officially released mouse support for the iPad. There are workarounds for this, but none as far as I know had native cursor support. Then came iOS 13.4 and mouse support finally became a reality.
The Logitech i345 is one such product. Released in 2020, the Logitech i345 is a Bluetooth connected mouse that is price affordably for the iPad. It has a thinner profile as compared to other mice intended for PCs.
That said, it is simply a mouse (a Bluetooth at that) that simply works as a mouse. There are really no bells and whistles here save for the fact that it is a mouse. A mouse for the iPad.
Now some of you may balk at the idea of a mouse for the iPad, but for the others especially those who use it with a keyboard, this is the one feature they have been waiting all along. So, if you are in the market for a mouse for the iPad, the Logitech i435 is the one for you. I’d definitely recommend this mouse!

Cheap price, cheap quality

This is an affordable aka portable cheap compact disc player. My expectations are not high but I definitely did not expect to break after a couple of hours' use. The LCD cover came off indicating it wasn't glued enough. More so, one of the springs in the battery component came off as I removed the batteries making the CD player useless. I would have to take the thing apart just to be able to attach or solder the spring. Last, I've noticed the production date is January 2020. Perhaps the pandemic has something to do with the quality of manufacturing in China. For now, I'd stay away from this.

Minimalist soundbar design
on April 5, 2020
Posted by: msumulong
from Glendora, CA
Soundbars are a great solution to those who want a better sound for watching shows on TV but still neither do not want nor have the space for a full home theater setup. And there’s a wide gamut of soundbar ranging from a full 9.1 Dolby Atmos setup to a basic 2.0 setup. The Yamaha YAS 109 2.1 channel soundbar is a great solution for those wanting a basic setup with minimal space requirements.
Following the success of the YAS-108/ATS-1080, the YAS-109 follows the design of a soundbar with an integrated sub-woofer offering a sleek design less the boxy external sub-woofer often found in soundbars. A separate bass module is available too. The main difference being the YAS-109 is now Alexa enabled thereby making it a smart speaker. And though it doesn’t have all of Alexa’s smart capabilities found in Amazon devices, it still greatly adds functionality to this soundbar. Alexa can be configured by downloading the Yamaha Soundbar Controller app from either the Apple Appstore or the Google Playstore. Also the app also substitutes as a remote control too.
Setting up the YAS-109 is a breeze. You just have to connect an HDMI cable (not included) to the HDMI-ARC port of your TV and soundbar. And if you don’t have an ARC enabled TV you can also use the included optical cable for audio. Do note that this soundbar supports 4K-HDR pass through so you may want to use a high speed cable though. Unfortunately, this soundbar does not support Dolby Vision or HDR-10. But it supports most audio-codecs (Dolby Digital, DTS-X) out there. (Obviously by nature of the design, Dolby Atmos is not supported.)
As for the sound output, the soundbar boasts of 60-watts for the sub-woofer and 30-watts each for the two channels. This is by no means room shaking but it is nonetheless sufficient in a medium sized room. (And as mentioned earlier, if you want more base a separate bass module can also be connected to this.) Also the soundbar has 3D sound which gives a wider sound but still cannot replace full surround speakers. (This is most noticeable in a bedroom rather than a living room.) Nonetheless it improves the sound output of the device which is most effective when watching action movies.
The only odd thing that I found here is that the Yamaha for whatever reason has downgraded the YAS-109 bluetooth version to 4.2 whereas the older YAS-108 has Bluetooth 5.0. This personally has no bearing for me as I seldom use Bluetooth in this soundbar as I use Alexa to stream music. But I did notice that music streaming from Alexa has better overall sound (higher treble) when streaming audio as compared to using bluetooth to stream music. And lastly, this unit uses 110V only so those planning to bring these overseas should take note of this.
These said, I highly recommend the Yamaha YAS-109 for those who want a simple 2.1 soundbar. For those who have no need for Alexa, the Yamaha-108 for a cheaper price is worth considering. And if you want more bass, the Yamaha YAS-209 should be considered albeit at a higher price.

A decent electric shaver
on January 23, 2020
Posted by: msumulong
from Glendora, CA
The Philips Norelco 5300 is a mid-range shaver from Philips. Its form factor is no different from other Norelco shavers. It is easy to grip with rubber grips on the sides. It took me a while to use this shaver as I don’t grow facial hair fairly quick. Because of this I have stuck with bladed razors and this is my first electric razor.
My first impressions are that it gives a smooth shave and you can barley feel any vibrations coming from the razor. Also, it is fairly quiet too. I like the fact that the multi flex heads contribute to the smooth shave. This shaver boasts of the capabilities of dry and wet shaving. Unfortunately though, there is no IPX rating given. And truthfully, I prefer blades as facial hair weren’t cut. Though overall it still gives a good shave. As a battery-operated device, it is rated at 40 minutes. And it takes roughly an hour to make a full charge. This I believe is good enough for someone who doesn’t shave often.
Honestly, I don’t really see anything truly unique in this shaver. But in my honest opinion it works fairly well as a shaver. Perhaps I am still used to blades. Hopefully I would grow into this shaver. And still, I would recommend it for someone who is in the market for a decent if not rock-solid shaver.

Sporty set of earbuds
on November 27, 2019
Posted by: msumulong
from Glendora, CA
Whenever ever you see the brand Adidas, one is almost always given the impression of a premium sportswear brand. However, when one encounters electronics associated with this brand, quite often it is thought that it is often a shallow attempt as a brand extension of the famed sportswear line. Not so with the FWD-01, one of two audio products manufactured with Zound a respectable Swedish audio company.
The FWD-01 is sleak designed pair of winged earbuds by Adidas. The earbuds themselves resembled angles similar to stealth airplanes and sports a grayish color. It has a flat cord which is covered in cloth compared to the usual rubber cords of most wired earbuds. These are IPX5 rated meaning that they are sweat proof which is ideal for sports minded people who want to wear earbuds while working out. And while may notice that the earbuds are on the bulky side, these have the benefit of having a battery life of 16 hours which is twice than the usual 8-hour battery life a definite plus. It has the usual three button controls found in wireless headsets and a dedicated button of voice activated commands. And to further enhance its functions, an app both available for iOS and Android can be downloaded in their respective app stores though you can use the earbuds themselves without using the app.
With regard to sound, the mids and highs are pretty clear and bass is fairly decent. While the average bass levels may not impress bass aficionados, over-all the FWD-01 offers a crisp sound experience. The earbuds also have USB-C which is the current trend in devices nowadays and comes with a neoprene pouch for storage.
And while the price may not be exactly cheap, other earbuds offer similar features thus not giving the FWD-01 a competitive advantage. Given that I would still recommend this for those who want a sporty set of earbuds but I would have to remove one star for this review.

Lacking in sound
on October 31, 2019
Posted by: msumulong
from Glendora, CA
The Sesh True Wireless In-Ear Headphones is one the latest products released by Skullcandy. Known for its bass heavy sound signature, the Sesh TWS earbuds are no exception to that. However, the mids and highs are somewhat to be desired. Listening to bass heavy genres such as hip hop or old schoo reggae may be fine. But listening to classic rock or even contemporary pop music sounds fuzzy. Classical music and traditional jazz simply lack the fidelity when played with these earbuds. I’ve got a pair of Skullcandy headphones and they do sound better.
Add to that the three-hour battery life of the earbuds themselves with other headphones having four hours. And the additional seven hours the charging case offers pales in comparison too. Generic TWS earbuds offer 15-20 hours on average with some offering 30 or more total hours.
Lastly, the earbuds offer only mono sound coming from the left earbud when calls are being made. It is pretty much standard that TWS earbuds have both earbuds working when calls are made.
It is really hard for me to like these earbuds sonic wise. The only thing I appreciate with the Sesh earbuds is that it is the most comfortable pair of earbuds I have tried. Though not totally bad, but there are other better earbuds out there are this price range.

Great phone but still lacking
on October 31, 2019
Posted by: msumulong
from Glendora, CA
This October Google launched its latest flagship phones the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL. But models are essentially the same save for the screen size wherein the Pixel for has a screen size of 5.7” and the Pixel 4 XL having a screen size of 6.3”. Also the Pixel 4 XL has larger battery with 3700 mAh with the Pixel 4 having a 2800 mAh battery. I am reviewing the Pixel 4 XL but my thoughts can also apply for the smaller Pixel 4.
The main highlights of both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are that both are run by Android Q or simply Android 10 and being Pixel phones are guaranteed by three of updates so updating to Android 12 is a guarantee. Both are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor (though I’ve read there is already the 855+). It has a dual rear camera system wherein the wide angle camera has 12 MP and the zoom has 16 MP. It’s front camera ha 8 MP.
Both have USB C and have an 18 W charger for rapid charging. And Qi charging is also possible but the Qi charger is preferred to have 10 W or more for normal charging times. Aside from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, the Pixel 4 has NFC capabilities which enables Google Pay and pairing with NFC enabled devices such as headsets and speakers.
As mentioned earlier the Pixel 4 has Android 10 out of the box giving you a pure Android experience minus all the bloatware other Android phones offer. (This review is not about Android 10 though.) But what stands out from the Pixel 4 is that it has motion sensors which enable the user to control the phone by using hand motions and gestures without even touch the phone. But do note that this is fairly new technology so the potential is still unreached. As of the moment, motion gestures include the phone screen activating when you are reaching for it. This is a nice but not an essential feature but handy if you just want to check on the time and if there are notifications on your phone. Also motion gestures can also can control which music tracks to play. Google has a list of apps that are motion enabled on its website. But like what I mentioned before, this technology is still in its infancy so for now these are nice features to have.
The Pixel 4 boasts of a POLED screen using Gorilla glass which boasts of rich and warm colors and runs at 90 Hz. It can run video and games smoother which gives the user a better visual experience. But unfortunately these result to diminished battery life to the point of being abysmal as per my personal experience and that these are moreover flagship Android phones. One way to increase battery life though is to use dark mode and disable smooth mode meaning you reduce the screen refresh rate to 60 Hz. For the most part disabling smooth mode would have no significant impact on performance but will have one on battery life. And do note this is the most serious complaint about the Pixel 4. But so far in the first few days of having my Pixel 4 XL, battery life has improved quite a bit.
Following its competitors, the Pixel 4 ditched its fingerprint sensor which is found in the back of the Pixel 3 and replace it with its Face Unlock feature. In essence, this is a “me too” feature. But unlike its competitors, the Pixel 4’s Face Unlock feature is blazing fast. This is due primarily to Google’s Project Soli. (Google it to know more.) And though it works with either your eyes closed or not looking at the phone (I have tried this myself.), privacy concerns have been raised by others as the phone can be unlocked by someone else if you are sleeping or have been rendered unconscious say from an accident. Hopefully, Google will fix this issue on a future update.
An improved feature also included in the Pixel 4 is Google’s next generation Google Assistant. While not many people may notice it, but Google claims the next generation Google Assistant is up to 10 times faster. To top this, Google added Driving Mode which enables the user to use better navigation by using only voice commands. And I’ve read that Google commands will be incorporated too in Google enabled car navigation systems in the future.
And now for the gist of the Pixel 4 – the camera. Google’s Pixel series have known to the one of the best if not the best camera in a smart phone. With that in mind, Google is late in having a rear multi-camera system incorporated in its Pixel line. Moreso with most of its competitors having three or even four rear cameras, Google came out only with two. Which is a letdown since the ability to take ultra-wide is zilch. That said the Pixel 4’s dual camera still has some tricks up on its sleeve.
First, the Pixel 4’s dual rear cameras offer Live HDR+ thereby giving you real time HDR images. Add to that dual exposure controls which results in pictures which are vibrant. I have attached a picture for reference. And truth be told the picture is even more vibrant compared to a similar shot take with my micro four-thirds camera.
The Pixel 4’s 2X telephoto lens may also be a disappointment for some. But combined with a digital zoom and Google’s “magic” results to 8X zoom and having more details than camera phones with a 3X optical zoom and added digital zoom. The “2X limitation” here becomes moot for me.
Lastly, the Google Pixel’s phone offers Night Sight which enables you to take pictures without a flash. And while other smartphones also have a similar feature, the Pixel 4 takes the cake because its Night Sight is also capable of astrophotography. While admittedly this is a niche feature, it just shows the capability of the Pixel 4’s camera capabilities.
In conclusion, the Google Pixel 4 is a great phone overall at the same time offers a pure Android experience. The lack of an ultra-wide lens, mediocre battery performance (Actually the Pixel 3 has a better battery.), and (I almost forgot) the lack of earbuds or at least a dongle, makes me remove one star for this phone. Still I’d recommend this for someone who wants a phone that performs in spite of some lacking features.

Good, but photo download problem
By rangerdon
This is a fine camera in many ways, but after losing some photos and a conversation with Panasonic, I learned that you must use the included panasonic software to download photos. (I use Picasa.) That makes the camera less than 5 star, since iPhoto would have the same problem - so if you buy this, and it is a fine piece of equipment, use their photofun software to downloard

Internet not exactly slow and processor not bad
November 24, 2016
The wifi performance is good. However I found it odd that when I used fast.com to measure speed, the phone registered 20 mbps which by itself pretty good if you're using a phone. But since I ran it simultaneously with my pc, my pc had a 70 mbps. Also the processor is not bad. It is not the latest and is commonly found in low end or rather entry level android phones. If you want a better phone you might want to consider the POP 4S which is similar but has an octa-core processor at 1.8 GHz, 2GB RAM 13 mp camera with a fingerprint sensor at $170. This sells for $150. So the $20 dollar difference is worth it. But the Black Friday deal sells at $50. So I got this phone. :)

Crash
By MarkTwain
I wanted to like this phone. The specs were just fine. The screen was just fine. The only complaint I had was that the phone reboots frequently. Fresh off a factory reset, it would constantly reboot before I could even set it up. As a software engineer, I am disappointed that software like this can even be released. This is not the way to showcase a brand and the reason for many returns on otherwise perfectly fine hardware.

Letting it rest seems to do the trick.
December 11, 2016
A lot of Alcatel models are like this including my Pop 4+. It seems that if you have a boot loop, let the phone rest for a few minutes then restart. do this even if you have wiped data. But this shouldn't happen at all especially for a new phone.

Unlocked dual sim android phone
By ASCX
Alcatel uses older underpowered cpu which slows performance compared to currently available android marshmallow phones. Alcatel does support adoptive SD card storage unlike LG and Samsung. Dual sim is a plus. Needs better processor to be competitive.

POP 4S has a faster processor
December 11, 2016
as mentioned in the title, if you need a faster phone get the 4S. It has a 1.8Ghz processer and 2GB RAM. There are three POP 4 phones - POP 4/POP 4 Plus/POP 4S wherein the 4 Plus is the mid-tier POP 4 phone. But for $49.99 during Black Friday, why not?

When it CAN be used its good, But it cant be used.
By Reona945
The phone keeps restarting even though the battery has more than enough charge. I've tried a hard reset and that hasnt helped. A factory reset stopped the cycle and i managed to use the phone for like 20 minutes and the phone restarted. When we ordered the phone, we also ordered a case from a third party. At first we thought the case was pressing the power button because it was a tight fit but it didnt seem right. There was also an incident i had in the past with the one touch evolve that was exactly the same. I would like to hear back and now if this can be fix :) Have a nice Day!

Reboot loop
By Proz
After having the phone for less than 1 month, I took it on vacation where I didn't have service. On the way my phone started to restart randomly. When I arrived at my destination the phone started into a reboot loop. If I caught it booting up quick enough occasionally I could navigate for a couple minutes. Even after I was able to get wifi connected and any other setting I thought could affect it such as gps location disabled the phone continued into the reboot loop. After researching on many blogs and andriod q and a sites I couldn't find a helpful answer to remedy the issue. I reluctantly did a factory reset but the loop continued. Finally, after returning back home I attempted to use the phone and it returned to "normal". I am very dissatisfied and I am generally very easy to please. I will be looking for another device to replace this asap.

seems to be the gps
December 20, 2016
I also did the factory reset to ease the symptoms. But it seems to be the gps module as then random reboots often occur when I am in my car and mobile. Also when I use Yelp and try to get directions, the phone restarts. No problem when I'm home though.

Good quality, but issue with 4G
By Praveen
I purchased this phone on black Friday because bestbuy was selling at $50, the phone had 2-yrs warranty, and Alcatel is one of the few good brands. I was excited about this purchase thinking that I paid only $50, but my excitement did vanish in a couple of days when I found that the phone restarts itself. After keeping an eye on the phone for a few days, I found that it restarts only when I drive or I am in a remote area. I googled about the issue and luckily found the reason behind restart. I am using T-mobile connection and had turned 4G LTE on. The 4G LTE service of T-mobile is not available in all areas of ABQ and therefore whenever I drove in areas where T-mobile signal was weak, phone used to restart. My phone never restarted in my school or in my house as T-mobile signal is excellent in these places. To fix the issue, I changed the network settings in my phone and set 3G as the default data service and after that it never restarted.
So, if any of you are facing restart issue, just stop using 4G LTE and use 3G. This solution worked for me. Hopefully it might work for you, too.
My finding is - this phone supports 4G only if the strength of the signal is excellent, otherwise, it restarts itself. But I don't know why doesn't it ,like other brands, work in case of bad signal. My friend has samsung phone and she never had the restart issue though we go to all the places together in the same car.
All other features of this phone are like samsung phone - my the most favorite brand. I haven't observed any other issue and the phone works like charm. Speed, sound quality (the default music player doesn't have equalizer, so you might try VLC music player), picture+video quality, and call quality are just superb. Finally I started loving this phone.

Alcatel is aware of this issue
March 13, 2017
I called tech support and was informed that there is an issue with this phone. Alcatel promptly replaced my phone with newer firmware and presumably hardware and the problems of random reboots have gone.

The ROCCAT Burst Pro Extreme Lightweight Optical Gaming Mouse was aggressively benchmarked against market-leading symmetrically shaped mice. We wanted a design and shape that instantly felt better from the very first touch. Our aim was to have a shape that made it feel like you had nothing in your hand both in terms of a neutral shape and low weight. We wanted to do this without putting holes in the surface to cut down on mass as many competitors have done. We call it extreme lightweight engineering, and with a weight of only 68g we think the name checks out. The pride and glory of the Burst Pro is the Titan Switch Optical. The first generation of ROCCAT mice to feature the technology, the Titan Switch Optical brings game-changing benefits. Tuned for speed and durability, gamers get a familiar click feel – no learning curve – that functions at the speed of light, and with no more double-click issues. The ROCCAT Burst Pro Extreme Lightweight Optical Pro Gaming Mouse features a striking translucent honeycomb shell that gives a smoky, hazy showcase to the AIMO lighting engine while protecting against dirt and dust. Weighing only 68g, the shell also keeps weight to an absolute minimum. As well as the Titan Switch Optical, the Burst Pro features a PhantomFlexTM cable that virtually disappears, for a near-wireless experience, and a 16K dpi Owl-Eye optical sensor. In yet another industry first, the Burst Pro features heat-treated glides that are a step above PTFE mouse feet. They are pre-tuned for incredibly smooth glide right out of the box.

why is the mx3 the same price as the mx4 if there is no major changes?

Prices are dropping elsewhere. Perhaps when the MX4s actually arrive by the 21st, prices in Best Buy would also lower.

hello i was considering purchasing last years model but i read numerous reviews mentioning that the touch controls would malfunction in cold weather has this issue been adressed?

No one really knows for sure as it is summer. But since Sony doesn't say anything about this, I guess it's safe to assume that the issue hasn't been really solved for now.
