A young woman who sings with her predecessors in mind. Kimberly Kelly's music has an old country feel with a young sound. Her music is genuine and you can feel her passion. It is easy to tell when an artist truly cares about their music, because the music has soul. In an industry that is lacking soul, Kimberly Kelly is a breath of fresh air. She is the antithesis of the fabricated sound that Nashville is producing today.
The CD contains a wide variety of songs. From slow ballads like her duet with fellow Texas country artist Aaron Watson, "I Saw Your Face and Forgot", to upbeat, blue-collar music like "Middle Class Money". She even throws in a few songs that might sound familiar. Such as: Conway Twitty's "I See the Want To In Your Eyes" which she sings with another Texan, Stoney LaRue; also, "Ophelia" originally performed by The Band.
Kimberly Kelly's latest CD, "Sweet Time Dreamin'" is the epitome of good country music, with soulful performances, and well written music. I would recommend this CD to everyone.
