Outstanding Offering by LG

First let me note that I am coming from the LG G3 and was completely satisfied with that phone. However with gift cards from my job totalling enough to buy the phone outright, I took advantage and upgraded to the LG v20.
It is without a doubt the best phone I have ever owned. It is quick, has a beautiful display, and checks all the boxes for me in what I wanted from a smart phone. Especially important was the need for expandable storage and removable batteries. While it is the largest phone I have owned I don't have problems with one handed operation (I am 6 feet though). It does have the Mini Screen functionality that allows you to shrink the screen to a more comfortable size when needed. I do use from time to time and it works flawlessly by swiping across the bottom of the screen in either direction.
I am on Verizon and have had no issues. I have not experienced any lag or performance issues, though for the record I am not a gamer. Battery life is average I would say and lasts me thoughout the day with moderate use. Please take that comment with a grain of salt because there are SO many variables affecting battery life (background apps running, location, ie being in an area that is looking for a cell signal which drains the battery, etc.) But having extra batteries resolves any concerns for me in that regard. I carry a spare battery with me always for days when I will be out later than I expected. I also swap each morning between a battery I charged overnight and the battery I used the prior day. Stand by time btw is excellent. Very little battery drain.
Pictures under the right lighting are outstanding. Otherwise the pictures are pretty good. Same regarding videos though I haven't done a lot of video recording. I don't have enough high quality music files to comment on the DAC but otherwise the music quality is really nice. Having all my music in iTunes when Apple is no longer making high capacity ipods, I am absolutely thrilled that I can now download ALL my songs onto my 256 Gig SD card and have my music with me at all times.
All that AND an IR blaster! I am good for a while!
Hope this review is helpful and that if you purchase the phone you will be as pleased as I am.

Great Value for Price

I think this is a great laptop. Performs well, and I think it feels solid. Love the backlit keyboard and found it more useful than I thought I would. Initially I got very frustrated with the fact that the wireless kept dropping my Internet connection. Actually took the laptop back to the store and was ready to purchase a Samsung ultra portable with SSD when the technician assured me the issue was with my router. He advised me to restart the router (Apple btw and I had no trouble with any other device) and all would be good.
Went home, restarted the router, rebooted the laptop and had the same issue before long. Tried to change the power saving option on the wireless card as well but no change. Also tried to update the driver for the card but it was up to date. Then called Toshiba tech support and they told me that the encryption I set up for this connection was AES and that this was not supported by Apple. He wanted to forward me to the next level Tech Support to assist me with reconfiguring the router since TKIP was not supported by Apple. I declined the offer not wanting to deal with possibly having problems with the other devices that have already been configured and were working properly.
So on a leap of hope I just changed the encryption type for the wireless connection to TKIP. Bang. That did the trick. No connection problems since. Now I must say my mouth was watering for that Samsung ATIV Book 7 with its gorgeous screen and svelte design. But I would have paid $220 more for only 128 Gig of space (vs 750), no DVD drive, and half the RAM (4 vs 8).
So all things considered, I am glad I found the solution and overall I think I done good. Oh and by the way, the speakers are excellent in my opinion.
What's great about it: Well built, attractive, and performs well
What's not so great: Not in love with the track pad but I don't care for them overall. Prefer wireless mouse.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sorry, I neglected to mention that my other devices use AES security so I don't think that really was ultimately the cause of my problems. But again, the net result is by poking around and tweaking I finally got things up and running to my delight.

Great Laptop!
By badger0381 from Appleton, Wisconsin
I love this computer! I got it as an open item/display item, so I love it even more since I got it for roughly 200 dollars under the original price! It has plenty of storage, a great processer, and Excellent battery life. There pretty much isn't much I don't like about it. I am partial to Toshibas and the laptop I owned previously was a Toshiba as well. Although, I was looking into an Asus.
The only two things I don't like about this particular laptop (but not enough to not purchase it again or recommend it) are: first off it sometimes is slow when reloading a webpage when I hit the back or forward button. Not horribly slow but slow enough to pester me. However, I do have a lot open at once so I am sure that is part of it. And the other thing that I do not care for is randomly the computer will make this weird ding noise the resolution will enhance super large...like everything on the screen is jumbo sized, then suddenly (within seconds) it will ding again and go back to normal size/resolution.
Overall I LOVE this computer....fast, big screen, touch screen, nice keyboard with the extra numbers to the side....decent Harman/kardon speakers....just overall a really great computer!

Screen Resolution Big the Normal
April 6, 2014
Same thing happens to me. Thought I was the only one. Have to do some research as to why this happens. Overall I agree with the review. After a few months the Optical drive went out on me and while CDs could be read I couldn't play my DVDs. It was under warranty so I sent it to Toshiba (I had to pay for the postage though and I was not happy about that at all) and it was fixed. But when I got it back the left arrow key was broken. They paid for the shipping the second time around but also replaced/restored my hard drive. The receipt said replaced but the rep insisted it was restored. The hassle was really inconvenient. If things work from here on in I will consider this a great purchase. But time will tell.
