Quality and color mediocre at best.

Going from a panasonic 3d viera plasma ut50, the "pseudo Sharp" was a letdown. Bad color... Grainy picture, No way to tweak the picture or color... Just couldn't like this set no matter what I did. For $56 more, I bought the 46 inch Samsung 120 hz 3d led (un46fh6030f) and that set was twice the quality of my dead plasma, and 4 times the set this junk of junk was. My advice: unless you're going from an old 480p tube TV, and don't know the difference, don't waste your money. Go Samsung.

Amazing! Beats the plasmas hands down!

Sadly, my panasonic 3d viera plasma ut50 gave up the ghost, and the first one (they call it a "Sharp", but it wasn't) was the worst picture I have ever seen) was a bust... As soon as I took this home, and played "SPARTACUS :Gods of the arena', I was blown away. Color: Amaze balls.. With white balance, gamma, and other pro setting tweaks available.. Motion smoothing : FREAKISHLY realistic.. And unlike other banal, purist old fashioned grandpa', I love the realism. Get used to it... Peter Jackson and James Cameron are gonna be shooting higher frame rates, whiners... It's here to stay. That said, I have nothing bad to say about this set other than I wish I would have bought this before I payed twice the amount for my Ill fated Panny. Take it from an older, picky, yet forward thinking tech lover... BUY. THIS. SET. Also: don't waste money on overpriced 3d glasses... Buy em online. I haven't got mine yet.. I will update this review to include 3d opinions later.

This is a review of the 3d Effects only.

OK, I got this movie early in my 3D education. Here's the deal: If I get a movie in 3D it doggone well better give me all the bells and whistles. The problem with the medium is if its not shot in 3D, then you are gonna have issues such as ghosting, blurry action sequences, and sub par 3d viewing experiences.
Unfortunately, that's what you get here. Now if you compare the effects of this movie VS Resident Evil: Afterlife, or Avatar, then you will see what i mean. If I get a 3D movie, I want the pictures to pop, the bullets flying out of the screen at me, and all the bells and whistles because THAT'S why my dumb self spent all the cash i did on all this stuff in the first place.
If you are wanting great 3D effects, this isn't the best of the batch.
What's great about it: Decent movie. Fun and all that.
What's not so great: 3D is sub-par. Better off buying the blu ray

3D should pop. This does.

When i purchased my 3D TV and Blu Ray player, I did so because I wanted the bells and whistles. I wanted to see things jump out at me from the screen. A "popping" of objects that you want to reach out and touch. What i discovered was that it is Not so much the hardware (although some are better than others) but more THE MEDIA itself that determines this.
This IMAX movie, although short, delivers the effects of 3D vividly. It is fun to try and reach out and touch the fish as they dance in front of your eyes. The particles of sea debris float inches from your nose. Its definitely fun to watch, an makes it almost seem like you are in the water with the sea life there.
Its good to note that not all 3D movies are created equal. Its a good idea to research before you buy given that the media is so expensive. I would recommend this movie if you want to take advantage of the best that 3D has to offer in this early stage of the game.
What's great about it: Eye popping 3D effects. Best that 3D has to offfer
What's not so great: Too short.

Worth Every Penny! Seriously!

After trying out cheaper models I finally chose to put forth a little bit more $$ for something that will last, sounds AMAZING and will be used every day. The Sony on the ear headphones were my first choice. Don't buy from Target as you cant try them out first. Got em home and they SUCKED! Tinny and they DIDN'T cancel noise like they said even with the battery power pack.
Best buy is great because I could try these out before I bought em. The sound quality was AMAZING. These are studio worthy and I can see using these for monitoring vocals if I was recording. I can see a dual use for the future after I learn how to use recording programs for my PC. Also a pleasant surprise was they canceled out noise due to the construction. No BATTERIES needed!
Anyway, these do the job, have a nice long cord and are TOUGH! The cord is thick and the ends are meant to take abuse. Although the headphones are a bit LARGE, they rotate flat so I can put them in my backpack pouch. They also fold up into a ball like shape for transport in other size pouches.
As a musician, I can truthfully say that from the music aficionado to the price conscious music student all will be very happy with this purchase. You will hear the mid-range and the highs (for Classical, Pop, Jazz or or Rock) and the BASS BOOMS (Hip Hop or Rap) It ALL sounds great through these headphones. Worth every penny.
What's great about it: Durable, portable, sound quality is top notch. Noise canceling due to construction.
What's not so great: Big. Thats about it.

Best doggone guitar I have ever owned

Although I didnt buy my guitar at best buy, I simply couldnt resist reviewing this instrument. I have been playing guitar for over 25 years and have owned 5 guitars previous to this one: a cheap ovation knockoff, a 6 string fender, a 12 string fender, a Guild and a Martin. NONE of these sounded as sweet and perfect as this guitar.
I had an opportunity to buy a all solid Yamaha, and I didnt bite. I am NOW kicking myself as Yamaha makes AWESOME guitars. The intonation is perfect...The craftmanship is solid,,,the tunuing keys are as good as some guitars costing 4 times the price. I spent over a grand on my Martin and over $1,200 on my Guild. This guitar sounds MUCH better than they did at 1/4 of the price.
Bottom Line: Great guitar at entry level price. My next one will be a ALL solid Yamaha. The heck with the name brand. Yamaha got their start making pianos. Do the Math.
What's great about it: Sound quality, overall look and feel and intonation is PERFECT
What's not so great: action is a little high so bar chords are hard to hold in the lower frets

are these headphones good to use in a recording studio?

They are because you get the sound cancellation feature as well as the ability to pick up subtle sound nuances. I would say yes for sure.
