Nice "Mini" Platter

Specifications read 9x13, but it's really an 8x12. It also weighs 2lb, 3oz. Nice that it has heft to it, and the finish is good, but it's more an alternative dinner plate as compared to a platter. Goes well with our Fiesta ware. I'll keep it though, cause it was on Deal of the Day for $12. $40 is outrageous! Check out my pic to see how it sizes up to my Fiesta.

Works fine, but bad design, hassle with setting up

I was hoping to replace my Harmony One with a sleeker device, and this is definitely not it. First and foremost, the layout for physical buttons don't work for my hands. They should be located below the touch screen, I don't want to have to look at my remote when making simple entries. For me, the touch screen is fine, but clunky to use as a system control, and I can't seem to use it with one hand.
With saying that, why does this system even come with a remote control anyway, when I can use my phone or tablet? The software app works well, and if you have the base set up with the IR blasters, it makes the remote worthless. Good luck intuitively trying to figure out how to set the remote to even emit IR signals - search under google. Speaking of software, why in the heck to I have to download another desktop software to get this thing set up? Why can't I just plug and go like all the other Harmony remotes I've had? So, now you have to have separate software on your tablet, phone, desktop, that ultimately connect together and work - it's just a friggin' hassle. Plus a different USB connector! Why? Frustrating.
Benefits - if you have an enclosed space, and want to control PS3 or Wii (for example), this device will do it all. Be ready to have an extra outlet for the base station, and on all the time.
If you're used to the old style of Harmony, and looking to upgrade, this is not it. I don't need the full 30 days to know this is not for me...

So much fun...

This is my first projector and I couldn't be happier. I project a 109" image on a Seymour AV acoustically transparent retractable screen, and the picture is extremely film like.
I'm amazed with the quality, and our family is blown away every time we watch a movie, tv, video games (we have not noticed any lag BTW), etc. We sit only 11 feet away, and the big picture just sucks you in without any eye strain, or 'screen door' effect.
I really have nothing bad to say about this projector other than the noticeable fan noise on the 3D modes and brighter modes, but when viewing in an appropriate lit room in the Cinema or THX modes, it's super bright, and you cannot hear the fan. By the way, the color out of the box on the THX mode is incredible!

What's great about it: Picture quality, set up, automatic lens cover, brightness in Eco Mode
What's not so great: Fan is noticeable in brighter modes (including 3D), but hardly heard with a good surround system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What is difference between LCD and DLP technology?

LCD uses a liquid crystal display that is charged and illuminated through a panel or multiple panels. DLP is Texas Instruments digital light processor that uses 'color wheels' that turn on and off very quickly.

In the use of a front projector - DLP has very good dark levels, but can produce an edgy picture, and sometimes people are sensitive to flickering. LCD has fantastic color, but lacks in the deepest black levels, and can have motion blur. Both have come along way in technology, and are nearly impossible to tell one from another on a display.

Last I checked DLP was a bit cheaper to make. Personally, I like LCD better for the color palette.

anyone know where to buy an 8mm projector or have 8mm film transferred to DVD?

Actually, Wal-Mart and YesVideo have teamed up for this exact purpose: http://yesvideo.com/Walmart.aspx Good luck!
