Help your child practice his or her artistic skills on your capacitive touch-screen device with this M-Edge Accessories SuperStylus that features a wide barrel size to simplify grasping for small hands. The soft, contoured grip offers comfort during use.
We got this for my mom, who has problems with her hands. Thinner-barreled pens and stylus make her hands ache after a while. She found this to be very comfortable and enjoys it greatly. :D Even on sale, it is a little bit pricey, but appears to be worth it.
My Best Buy number: 2271574754
What's great about it: Wide/thick barrel, easy for unsteady hands
This extensive release from the conspiracy-themed series Dark Skies includes all 20 episodes of the show, telling the story of John Loengard and Kim Sayers, two truth-seekers living in an alternate history of America in the 1960's - in which an evil alien race called The Hive are working in concert with the U.S. government to enact sinister plans for humanity.
A what-if alien invasion series, that begins in the early 60s. It has some impressive acting, sets and little things that really capture the time-period. The story-telling is tight, believable, and therefore, a bit unsettling. It's a shame it only got a chance at a single season, but that one season does shine.
This was the very first Weird Al album that I ever owned. It is still fabulous, after... an uncomfortable amount of years. It's a pretty diverse album. The title track is a homage to Devo, with a rather electronic sound. "This is the Life" is rather rag-timey (and a personal favourite.) My friends and I still remember all the words to "Like a Surgeon," be we can never remember the words to the song which it parodies: Madonna's "Like a Virgin."
Muppet movies are perennial family favorites, and there is the usual large helping of good-natured fun in Tim Hill's Muppets From Space. Columbia TriStar has taken full advantage of the DVD medium with this disc, which has a great deal to recommend it. The anamorphic transfer of the film is as good as one could wish for, with the colorful visuals expected from a Muppet movie rendered gloriously. The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track is also of high quality, and all the music and dialogue is crisp and clear. The bonus materials on the disc include both the original theatrical trailer and the teaser trailer, in addition to trailers for some other family films. Also included are some brief talent profiles, an enjoyable music video ("Shining Star" by the Dust Brothers featuring Jeymes), and an amusing selection of outtakes. By far the best extra feature is a live video commentary (similar in style to the feature on the Ghostbusters DVD) with director Hill and Gonzo, Rizzo and, briefly, Kermit. Though it offers absolutely no insight whatsoever, it is one of the funniest commentaries ever made for DVD, and in many ways the equal of the film itself in terms of sheer entertainment. In fact Columbia TriStar's disc is a triumph in every respect, and is probably essential for any fan of the Muppets.
I watched a lot of Jim Hension studio stuff as a kid, and I'm thrilled to find the pieces as an adult. They really do have an intelligent, sweet-natured charm that is both appealing to adults and child-appropreate. We bought this to share with my five year old niece.
