It would have been easy to make this a Hollywood-centric film; they didn't. Instead, they stayed very close to the Bible. They also used actors that where more ethnically correct. Mary, Joseph and families were Jews from the Middle East, not well-known "white" actors.
The cinematography in this film was incredible as was the music, the acting, and the screenplay. I simply can't find anything that was grossly mis-handled. Though there was a little condensing of the story inat the end, it wasn't at all detrimental to the experience.
What's great about it: Very scripture-focused telling of the story.
What's not so great: They condensed the end some, but it was not detrimental to the overall story.
