Lots of good features packed into a bad design

I was super excited to use my Surge. Rushed home, connected Surge to laptop, paired it up with iPhone and was ready to go.
Scrolled over all the features and was very excited.
Set my profile up and started getting back on track with my fitness life.
After wearing Surge for few minutes i could tell i am wearing uncomfortable band that is tight on my wrist i am a women and had size small wrist band. (I am 130Lb 5'6). Edges of the strap seemed to be irritating my skin, but i figured i will get use to it.
Never did, watch felt too small, rubber started to coming off and strap looked like a pencil eraser.
I took it for a run connected easily to GPS i was able to see map and all great stats for my run/walk.
Next day i used it at the gym unfortunately as soon as i started sweating on elliptical machine the heart rate monitor stopped working- according to my watch my hear was no pumping :)
On a third day i took it for a trail run - great features, nice stats, good meal tracking, etc.
I worn it to work to hit my step goals etc. however after 3rd day i started to get tired of it, i was constantly reminded by its weight and uncomfortable strap that i am wearing it. It is impossible to have a long sleeve over it without watch catching on it.
I did not wear it all day long and on a 3rd day i got itchy skin under the strap, took watch off rush was gone. Came back after i put watch back on.
4th day i left it on a table, 5th day i packed in a box and took it back to best buy.
I loved all the options, the design needs improvement.
It works great with your phone.
I recommend trying it at the store, yes you will have to open the box but why going back with return if you can just try it out.
I hope Surge will improve over next few months/years it has big potential but it is not quite there yet.
Sport watch should not stop working because of sweating during workout.
If you are a strict runner i would look for something else at this point.
Good Luck Fitbid Surge.
My Best Buy number: 0562280469
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Watch Size

Hi,
how can i know the right size?
Go to the store tell them you want to try it, if they say No you can buy it open it and return it, otherwise you end up like me.. going back to the store to return it, because it simply feels wrong on your forearm.

Does the Fitbit-Surge include a regular watch?

In other words, can this be used as a regular watch
Yup it can. It is just very hard to wear it with any long sleeve clothing.

Is it better to go big or small?

I have a 6 1/2" wrist(comfortably), and the small fits a 5.5"-6.7" while the large fits 6.3"< .At a pinch i can fit just under 6 1/2", but I am worried if the small might be too small?
I would say Small is really small. I am a woman 135, 6'5 and small was tight, it was closed on a 2nd to the last of the holes and watch stuck on to my sweatshirt and fall off. I was happy it happened at the gym where i was able to find it.
I feel like L might be a better choice, and you be wearing Surge above your wrist for best results. ( According to Fitbid recommendations).

does this sync with your phone for call and texting, etc.?

You be able to see missed call, or read a text, and control your music via bluetooth. You can't text back or anything like that, also your phone needs to close by you, example your pocket.
