In 1974 Kiss released "Hotter than Hell" their second studio album, being a brand new rock group KISS was still establishing their image and hungry to get to the top and this album reflects that.Vocals By Paul Stanley Peter Criss and Gene Simmons, Rythm Guitar Drums and Bass respectively. with some of the heaviest tracks they would record untill the 80's and some of the darkest lyrics they would ever write. Tracks like "Parasite" "Watchin' You" and "Strange Ways" Are Very heavy thundering tracks that could blow a hole in a concrete wall and also convey a sense of confusion. Strange Track "Goin Blind" a bizzare ballad about twisted Love by Gene Simmons. Ace Frehley's Lead Guitar work in these tracks give it the edge And Peter Criss's slightly distorted drum tracks add character to the already colorful album. One of Aces finest solos is in "Strange Ways". the heavily Japanese inspired cover art is among the most bizzare the band put out but is very distinctive. This album didnt do well upon its initial release due to distribution issues but went on to sell 500,000 copies by 1977 certifying it GOLD This album is a good selection for KISS fans Hard Rockers and Fans of Thrash music like Anthrax whom Kiss inspired with tracks like "Parasite" (Anthrax would later cover this song) I Highly reccomend it
What's great about it: Great hard edged sound, Several powerful classic tracks, great price the remaster cleans up the sound well
What's not so great: not much.......the sound quality in the recording is a little funny but its explained by the fact its an album from 1974
