Evan7's Reviews

This futuristic release includes all 100 episodes from the first five seasons of the sci-fi series Red vs. Blue, a series that began as a video project from a group of Halo fans, but soon became a full-on series, following the bizarre adventures of two equally inept armies as they battle for a section of galactic real estate known as the "Blood Gulch."

The new remastered episodes are just as good as the original. They look great and the shots are almost identical. In fact, the only way you can tell the difference is when they point out something in the old commentary when placed over the new video. If you've seen the series then you know how funny the plot is and watching it in a feature movie type style makes everything flow much better. The extras alone are worth the price of the set. You get all the old PSA's, outtakes, line readings, deleted scenes, and great commentary. The only real issue I've had is that the season 3 commentary completely removes the audio from the scenes but it was easily fixed by playing it on two media players and adjusting the sound. All in all its a great purchase and any RVB fan has to have the full set.
What's great about it: Video Quality, Price, Extras

The most important struggle the galaxy has ever seen now needs your help. Join the fight against an alien onslaught and save the future of the universe.Take on the role of Commander Shepard of the SS Normandy and lead your elite recon squad in intense, real-time combat across a galaxy on the brink of turmoil and despair. Assume responsibility for the lives of your team members, whom you must rely on to stop the swarms of hostile alien enemies. The characters you control communicate via branching dialogue and display emotions through various facial expressions. This is an RPG that really thrusts you into the action. Choose your squad, weapons, skills and abilities, and customize your vehicles, armor and appearance. Most of all, harden your heart to face an enemy that lacks even an ounce of mercy.

A Good RPG/FPS Hybrid

Mass Effect 2 is an overall good game. There is a ton of content backed into this one game its value alone makes t better than most. The graphics are a significant step up from the previous one as is the conversation mechanic which now allows for interuption by the player. The combat mechanics are now more similar to an FPS as you know have to manage your ammunition. The RPG element has been stripped down some as there are fewer weapon, armor, and skill point choices but they did add a resource management feature. The plot is a little weak and there are no real surprises and you spend most of the game recruiting teammates. That said, I still think this is a good game which has provided countless hours of entertainment for me already, and with the Mass Effect 1 save import feature I see myself playing even more in the weeks to come.
What's great about it: Great Graphics, Good Gameplay, Interesting Choice System
What's not so great: Plot
