After reading the book I thought it was one of the tightest written books I had ever seen. The focus was so clear and every action by everyone in the film was to complete or destroy the plan. When I finished the book I though "This was great, but too bad it could never be a movie since it is all underwater>" How wrong I was and the movie is every bit as good as the book. Sean Connery at his best and Alex Baldwin is great as an actor before he became a jerk. You feel this movie and you suffer with the characters, even the "bad guys". Superbly cast and hard to find fault with anything. Too bad this author got sidetracked and stopped writing such great fiction.
